@TheJerilu I had never heard that re: rotisserie chicken - I'm definitely not giving that one up because I love Costco's chickens so much - I'll just be mindful of the temp I guess.
Here's a question: I am a fervent back sleeper, which I know is fine right now but could lead to discomfort down the road. Has anyone successfully trained themself to sleep on their left side? I'm trying to put off purchasing one of those maternity body pillows for a bit longer, but right now I cannot fall asleep on my side *at all* whenever I try and it worries me a bit.
I was an avid back sleeper and it gets uncomfortable after a while. BUY THE MATERNITY PILLOW. ITS THE MOST AMAZING THING AND I CANT WAIT TO SNUGGLE MINE AGAIN. I think I started using mine around 17 weeks?
This is the one I have. I would flip sides throughout the night, ya know after getting up to pee a million times.

Yes, this. I don't sleep on my back, normally I'm a stomach or side sleeper. But since pregnancy I always need to hug a large body pillow of some sort. I had the one above, but am going to try to switch to just a body pillow and a wedge this time around if it's more comfy. I remember having to unwind myself ever time I wanted to turn over to the other side. Sleeping was so hard toward the end. I am not looking forward to that.
Hi everyone, I'm not sure if the nausea has hit anyone else as badly as it's hit me, but I've had morning sickness for the past four days (all day). I just thought I would share that adding lemon juice to my water is amazing and has made things bearable. I'm really hoping this passes soon for the sake of my poor husband and my soon to be arriving students! If anyone has any other suggestions they are gladly appreciated!

I haven't experienced morning sickness yet, just mild nausea, but I too am a teacher and am terrified what is going to happen once it sets in. I don't know how I'll manage to leave my littles while being in the bathroom. I plan on telling my principal as soon as we get started with the school year. Hope it starts to get better for you soon!
I just looked for the exact pillow on Amazon to no avail! The Snuggle looks more like an 'S'. Do you know the brand of the pillow in your photo? It looks like heaven My back is already killing me.
@Cupps6212, I forgot about the lemon in water trick. Definitely helped me last pregnancy. The other trick I used was mint. Either sucking on a peppermint or chewing gum definitely helps me! I used this at work a ton so it wasn't obvious that I was feeling well (at least not as obvious as soda crackers and ginger ale)

Teacher here as well....I teach college and it's only my 2nd year. Classes start in a couple weeks and I'm so nervous as I don't want morning sickness at all. I'm good so far but I'm just 5.5 weeks.
Drinking lemonade saved me this weekend! I also grabbed some lemon candy to have on hand just in case - totally forgot about it from my last pregnancy til I read on here that someone suggested them!

Here is the exact one I have. It is made by Leachco:

I'm doing a little lemon water too! It's really helping! I don't know what your situation is, but we have a kindergarten aide and I plan to holler for her as I'm running down the hallway. During my first pregnancy, I taught my students a code phrase that meant "go to your stations, I have to use the bathroom." They knew exactly what to do and that worked beautifully. I plan to do something similar this time around too.

@Breesy14 that is a brilliant idea!! I'm always terrified the moment I walk out of the room to run to the bathroom, it will be the moment we have a fire drill or my principal walks in.
Well, I went to the naval base here today for my pregnancy test. We have to do that so they can put a referral in to Tricare so we can see civilian providers. I swear it felt like it took all day, but my doctor's nurse finally called me back a little after 4 to congratulate me and confirm the pregnancy. Yippee! I'm delivering at a civilian hospital and am stoked because they have a birthing tub, which I'm hoping to utilize.
Nausea: I had my first small bout of it this morning because I hadn't eaten anything. Thankfully, a Quaker apple cinnamon rice cake cured that. I'm just trying to enjoy the next 2-3 weeks because I know the sickness is coming.
@Beckyf321, I absolutely LOVED using the tub during my labour with DS. We weren't allowed to actually birth in it (hospital policy), but I spent about 4 hours in it. It was the best part of my very long labour. It was such a good coping mechanism for me! The water was extremely soothing.
@STM2017, the first two hospitals I delivered in didn't have one, so I can't wait! With my daughter I got sent home from the hospital the first time I went ("You're first time mom and it's 10 days before your due date, you're not in labor, honey......yeah, I was back 12 hours later!), so while laboring at home I kept getting in my bath tub. I can't wait to labor in one I actually fit in. LOL!
@Beckyf321, it's seriously so nice!! Before we even got out of the car at the hospital I was telling my doula "I want to get into the tub". I knew it would help me to cope and it totally did. Only downside was the heater on the tub had broken and I was FREEZING. It took them a while to realize why I was so cold. Then my doula started boiling water in kettles and kept adding it to the water. So much better!
Store bought hummus runs a risk if you eat it room-temperature or outside of 3 days after opening. Homemade hummus is fine as long as you refrigerate it and eat it within a few days.
