I'd consider a Pick 'Em but see myself falling off of it. I do fantasy baseball only.. my husband is so obsessed with Fantasy sports that it kind of turns me off to all of them.. easier to hate on them if I have no involvement. But I am ready to have football back in my life, we'll probably order Red Zone again since my husband will be home for Sundays in September at least.
I can smell pumpkin and feel crisp air as I think about football afternoons. I am so freaking excited.
Random for the day - had our giant, annual summer BBQ this weekend. It was fun and Reese had tons of kids to play with which made for an easy bedtime but I still feel like I'm recovering. I tried to sit and relax but that's tough to do when you're hosting that many people.
My MIL also felt the need to tell me that I'm not as wide with this pregnancy as I was with Reese. "Oh, so you thought I was wide?" "(With a grimace) yeah, you were. And this one you come out more." (I mentioned it to my husband who immediately defended her and told me I obviously took it the wrong way. Meanwhile, my mom told me repeatedly how good I looked and how the only weight I've gained is in my belly. That's what you freaking say to a pregnant woman.)

Gah! You just got me so excited for Fall! It really is the best season!
@camichael84 - THE best. Whenever I get anxious about navigating the 2 baby world.. I picture the 4 of us at the apple orchard. E running wild biting into all kinds of apples while my husband chases him, and me and Cooper-man walking around with him in the ergo. Little moments like that I just can't wait for.
@AnnaS930 I'm so excited for the apple orchard/pumpkin patch, too! As soon as we got my induction date, I told DH the orchard is on for the first weekend of October. I can't wait for all those apples and cider!
@camichael84 There's a big apple cutout character with a measuring stick that says something like "looks what's growing at the orchard". I stood by it with my Emmett Bump in Oct. 2014, then holding Emmett in Sep/Oct 2015. This year I'll have both of my boys in the pic with me.. so surreal.
Have no idea how fantasy sports work. I'll either learn or die of FOMO so for now, I'll go the obvious route and stay out haha. We'll see how I feel laters.
Add me to the productive weekend bunch! We painted our nursery furniture and after giving myself an insomna-induced semi panic attack (I didn't wear a mask while sanding and realized the paint said "oil enriched" and was toxic after I finished), I think I might let myself enjoy the results. Maybe. It all looks so beautiful and ready for a little squish and it still seems surreal! T minus four and a half weeks until my due date!
I picked up a child who was covered in sunscreen this morning and it's all I can smell now... It's driving me crazy! It smells like old man aftershave. Also, is 10:40 too early to eat my lunch?
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
@AnnaS930 That is so awesome and cute! We have something similar at our orchard and got a pic of McKenna with it last year. I hadn't thought about how both of them will be in front of it this year! We had so much fun last year... other than Layla's birth, this is seriously the thing I'm most looking forward to in the next couple of months.
@AnnaS930@camichael84 you two are killing me! I neeeeed Fall!! Gah, I love it, and maternity leave through fall is the best ever. I wish I could have all of fall off every year. I get butterflies thinking about taking the girls to the pumpkin patch this year. I wanted to take DD last year but I felt like she was just too little. I am so excited for this year!
I know it was just a pre-season game, but I'm pissed the game was canceled last night.
On that note, I've been thinking recently... my first BMB did a fantasy football league the year our babies were born. I don't know if anyone here would be interested in doing it this year, but I thought I'd get some feelers out. If no one is interested, no big deal, but if there is enough of us that want to do it, I can get it set up.
In more randomness... my weekend was so busy, and we have plans every weekend until Layla is born. I'm glad to keep busy, but also tired!
Also, I'm now feel like I'm in some sort of denial about things. I can't wrap my brain around the fact that I'm going to have a second child and a newborn in 3.5 weeks.
I'm absolutely in for a fantasy league! I've joked about starting one locally with all of DH's friends' wives but never got around to it.
@laker2014 I'm technically due 8/24 since they bumped my date by a month early on, so I'm 37 and 5 days!
@LakeR2014 I'm due September 2nd so I'll be 37 weeks on Friday but I'll be having her on the 26th. For some of us RCS mom's the babies will be coming super soon!
Trying to catch up after not really bumping all weekend. I miss being able to take whatever OTC meds I want! This strep is killing me. Haven't noticed the antibiotics helping at all. And now I'm coughing too. Whoa is me! After reading 99 posts j can't remember much but wanted to say hi! And here's a bae booty for you all
@AnnaS930 Love the pics and can't wait to see the one this year! And your apple looks exactly the same as the one at our orchard! (Not actually trying to AW here, but wanted to show our identical apples. Lol.)
I'm going to start a seperate thread for Fantasy football and include a poll so we can see if there is more interest in a FF league or a Pick 'em league. Then I can get it all set up! Yay! Football!!!
Waiting on my doctor. He pops in to let me know the computer system is down and he'll be with me shortly, then asks me how I'm feeling. Me: just tired and big. OB: sweetheart, let me tell you something. This is big (motioning to himself). That is pregnant.
@PSUBecky23--MILs have a way with words, don't they? Mine sent a bag of clothes she had gotten from the thrift store up to me when her daughter was visiting. She sent a note ahead that said "The clothes I sent for you are all elastic waists or larger sizes since I know it will take some time to lose the baby weight." Two things: 1) don't talk to me about the baby weight. 2) the "larger sizes" she sent are my regular, non-pregnant size.
@Sporty1216 - Damn, although that's a compliment in a way that you appear a smaller size than you wear? Maybe? I don't know why I'm making excuses for MIL when I can't stand my own...
@MojieJo if I'm not feeling the name before the baby is born, I start looking for more. I take it as a sign that maybe it's not the one. I will say I always seem to second guess myself for a couple weeks after the baby is born and named. Once you get to know your baby you're like "why did I ever doubt this?"

Catching up---Don't crucify me but I hate football. Well, hate is a strong word. I just prefer not to watch it. H is a huge niners fan and I will watch some of those games but otherwise, count me out
Ugh @Megan324 I hear ya!! I had a dream last night where I left DH for one of his friends...and I did it over text. I woke up feeling so horrible and can't shake the feeling even though I KNOW it was just a crazy pregnancy dream. I still feel bad!
My random of the day is that dang, all of a sudden I feel really, really pregnant. Slow, waddling, everyone-stare-at-the-preggo kind of pregnant. And I swear it happened over night. Which makes me even more terrified because I have so much left to do and I now I'm realizing how soon this is all actually going to happen!!
My other random is that I really wish there was a Thank You Note Fairy who would just come to my house in the middle of the night and finish all of my thank you notes. They are weighing on my mind SO badly! I better get them done tonight or I'm going to start having nightmares about them.
For those with crazy pregnancy dreams.. my own experience last time was that even with a newborn waking during the night.. I slept really well between nursing sessions... like full on passed out, never remembered a dream upon waking, would nurse, wander back to my bed and pass back out (ON MY STOMACH! Gosh I can't wait). May the sleep gods be so kind to the rest of you!!
In my dream my baby was measuring ahead so they were making me get induced and I was crying and crying because the doctors were all screaming at me that it was my fault. I tried calling my mom bc I was upset and she didn't answer at first because the house had burned down. Then i woke up
One of my shoulders is throbbing every night/morning from sleeping on it. I dk what to do about that...probably just wait it out until I can sleep on my back!!! Cannot wait!!
I had a freak out session while at the hospital last night. They didn't have enough room in the triage, so they needed to put me in a reg labor/delivery room. Had so many flashbacks and got really scared that id be admitted and delivering DD 5 weeks early. The nurses were so sweet (I forgot how amazing they are) and put me at ease. Hopefully I won't be seeing them again for another month or so though!
I am so checked out at work. I hope this isn't ongoing and it's just today. I wore a cardigan because I have to present some awards today at our townhall and I feel silly in a blazer that obviously won't button, so now I feel like it's fall. Damn cardigan, messing with my emotions.
@Redmar I'm sorry you had a freak out. I had a similar freak out last night at home because this is the week Max was born and I'm so paranoid it's going to happen again. It doesn't help that I feel yucky this morning (just crampy and uncomfortable) but I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon so I'm just waiting for that. I was going to go to work for a few hours but decided not to since I'm feeling meh. Part of me thinks it's all in my head just knowing my current timeline. I don't think I'll be able to breathe until Saturday arrives and I'm officially the most pregnant I've ever been.
I quickly read through everything. @MojieJo -With DS, I got cold feet about our chosen name in the last month or 2 of pregnancy. It was just jitters and we stuck with the name we had been decided on for so long. I think I would have had regrets if I would have changed it. This time around, I have started second guessing it, but not nearly as much.
@camichael84 - if there is a lot of FF interest, you may have to do a pick-em league since it allows more people.
@MrsVoorhees - I am with you on the being checked out of work thing. I just wrapped up a big project that had me really busy. Now that I just have a lot of small miscellaneous tasks until maternity leave, I find myself not wanting to focus. And this week, both my manager and his manager are on vacation, so there is no accountability for me.
My son's current obsession are the Melissa & Doug peg puzzles. He has 4 of them and has gotten really good at them. I was getting bored with doing the same 4 over and over so I went to Target and bought him a new one. He won't put it down. He left the house in tears this morning because he wanted to play with his new puzzle and not go to daycare.
On the crazy dream topic: I had the MOST amazing steamy dream the other night. I got to hook up with a man I guess I compiled with all of my favorite attributes. I keep having flashbacks of his perfect abs and tattoos. Sigh.
I am especially grateful for this dream because there is NO way in my current state that I want actual, real-life nookie. It's too much effort to change from my left to my right side. I can't imagine trying to get some sexy groove on. No thanks!
Dear Canadians, Thank you for providing the world with Shawn Mendes, who is 18 today, and I can finally admit my love for him.. which of course, only started today.. since he's 18 and I most certainly have not had an inappropriate crush on a child before today
I feel bad posting this because I've been MIA for several days and not here offering support to others but...
Just hit 48hrs of being in hospital due to contractions. I was about to be released when they did one final check and I'm 5cm. Looks like babygirl is on her way. 36 weeks today ( we've been trying to keep her in since 32 so this is much better) so still early but dr is confident that all will be fine.
UGH, this is seriously my 5,684th yeast infection this pregnancy. My OB is recommending Diflucan (a pill) since the OTC meds don't seem to be clearing it all the way. Has anybody used this? I don't really take any meds during pregnancy, and it's category C for yeast, and category D for other uses, which is a little scary to me.
@reesaXden - do not feel bad about being MIA for any length of time.. you've had some really trying times and clearly have been busy for the past 48 hours. Happy and safe thoughts coming to you, baby girl and the rest of your family. You've got this, mama!! 36 weeks is amazing, you did a fantastic job getting to this point!

Love my OB.
On one hand, it would've been hilarious
On the other, that is how you ask a question! Step one is Google, then you ask for clarification or experience!
yay for an awesome OB though!
