SH!T JUST GOT REAL! Part 2

Re: SH!T JUST GOT REAL! Part 2

  • The ultrasound tech in my OB's office told me the pressure I'm feeling is because the little guy loved down already! I know that doesn't mean I'm going to go into labor ASAP but it did put it into perspective! And I'm pretty sure I'm waddling now lol

  • You guys are making me nervous for two newborns!
sorry - the more help you can get the better! Do you have family to help?
  • @NoraAurora we do! It'll be nice to have family around, we moved to this town for that reason.
  • When you wake up at 2:20 because your BH hurt so bad and your lower back feels like it's on fire, then go to the bathroom to pee and attempt to relieve some of the pressure and there's a glob of mucous waiting for you in the toilet...
I chugged a bottle of water and curled up in the fetal position for nearly an hour contemplating whether or not I was going into labor or needed to wake up FI.
Good news is everything settled down some (still not 100%) but it's most likely due to all exercise I got yesterday. Had to go school Supply and grocery shopping by myself, so had to carry LO a bunch and load and unload everything by myself in the heat. I guess I'm still in recovery mode, it's like I can't get enough water!
  • @AllyTheKid... Do you think the mucus is something to be concerned about (when coupled with the BH? Like maybe call the doctor-worthy?
  • @AllyTheKid ack! Mucas plug? This early?! You may be having a baby soon!
  • @AllyTheKid I did exactly all of that on Saturday and it was awful! I'm still not sure I've recovered. I've also been having terrible back pain but the mucous is scary! I know the plug can regrow but it still means shit is about to get real! Eek!

  • @bnsmith85 I had that happen before with my last LO twice and went to the ER, they chalked the mucous up to extra from the BH, which were caused by dehydration/over stimulation so that's my go-to answer for now since things have settled down some and he's moving around a lot. @mizzkbrat I don't think it was a plug (or whole one at least) because it didn't seem big enough. I've had similar experience with my last, but I've never actually seen a mucous plug yet with any babe so far. I know I'll definitely be making a call or trip if things flare up again though, Jimmy was premature and with this being my third I'm not going to sit here and pretend it's not a possibility, so I'm staying on my toes.
(And drinking tons of water which has helped substantially- that's why I'm not hopping on the panic train.)
  • @kelliott09 I think we need to put ourselves on light duty! From my former mucous experience, this may resolve on its own. But now looking back, with LO, my water broke 4 weeks after my first "scare", and I ended up in the ER having contractions stopped 2 weeks after my first visit... hopefully this isn't the same scenario, I need more time than that!
  • @AllyTheKid Oh my gosh, that's scary! But I read somewhere that the mucus plug can regenerate, so you can lose bits of it and still go to your due date. If things have calmed down, you should be ok. But call your doctor and REST!

  • @krzyriver Oh the rest is on, and nobody (other than LO) can make me do anything today! I'm going to call my doctor just to give him a heads up in case anything decides to go down sooner than we'd like.
  • @mommabear444 Why would you deprive yourself of Halloween decor that is on sale BEFORE Halloween??
  • @AllyTheKid because I have an addiction, lmao. It's the same with yarn, I bought more yarn yesterday and my closet under the stairs is full lol. As I was putting the bags away I found more in my trunk from last week.
  • @scostel2 oh man. Lol, I am so nervous about having two at once in the beginning. I think I will be grateful for it when they are a little older and can play together/entertain each other.
  • sjo_thetwins you'll do great! If there's one thing I've noticed, the parents of multiples in my family are soooo organized. They develop a system that works and a routine and they're good to go. I'm sure you will do the same!
  • @sjo_thetwins I have a bunch of friends with twins. I agree they seem to be really organized with a system. All their kids are awesome too! You've got this  :)

  • I'm taking this really expensive prescription iron supplement, along with the diabetes test supplies and stuff I was thinking the other day that I only have to do 1 more refill before the baby gets here!

Annnnd colostrum started leaking a little bit the other day. So weird.

  • I had to go to the OB triage at the hospital yesterday to clear a bowel obstruction. It was really painful. Just being there and trying to fix this problem made me not want to go through a really long labor again. I'm going to want the epidural as soon as I can this time around. It made this all too real. I told H I didn't want to go through the actual childbirth again. It was kind of a joke. Kind of.
  • I scheduled my c-section yesterday....

  • Filling out my birth plan to go over with my OB on Tuesday!! Random question... For those of you who are having a boy, are you planning to circumcise? I kind of just assumed we would but hadn't given it any thoughts and now I'm weighing the pros and cons.  Curious what everyone else's thoughts are?

I was fine either way but H was very for it. I think because he is so he wants his son to be. What does your H think? If you're on the fence, maybe he can be the deciding vote?

  • @blonde1817 we are as well. H was very for it.
  • @blonde1817 We are. I really let my fiancé take the lead with that decision since I don't have a penis. Obviously we discussed it and I'm comfortable with it.
  • @Blonde1817 to echo everyone else so far we are too. My husband mentioned it being what he wanted and I agreed.
  • @blonde1817 DH and I just discussed this today actually. We are circumcising. I did research into and honestly I've heard stories of men who've had to do it later in life and zero stories of complications from having it done as a newborn. Plus, DH is and was very much pro circumcising.

  • @Blonde1817 DH and I are pro circumcising. We aren't exactly against not circumcising, but having it done is just what we're most comfortable and familiar with.
  • I will add to the circ convo that my parents didn't have my brother circ'd after birth and he ended up having to have it done as a teen because of complications. I know that's an extreme case and that there can be similar stories from those who do circ at birth but I think it my bros experience adds to us being for it.

  • I was anti but then DS had to get it done because of complications as well, and we found out that both local anesthesia and morphine are not effective for him. It was seriously awful.

  • We're doing circ too. I told DH it was up to him and he didn't think twice.

We are. I honestly could have gone either way. I left it up to DH, and since he's circumcised, he said he didn't want our son to wonder why his looked different. He was also concerned about his sons dating life. So we are doing it in the hospital a day after he's born.
