  • @blondie080300 I don't get the Fran reference either. I don't think mucus plug posts ever get good responses

  • Just caught up.
Was in a funk yesterday, tired of my husband working every weekend, woke up with swollen ankles (which usually only comes on by evening), and was exhausted. Left me with a lot of "what the hell am I doing?!?" Feelings in my head... it's not just a ftm experience to get waves of anxiety.
Also @rg1 you will be so happy to see baby use all of those items when he's here. Also, being due with #2 we have hardly needed anything, all of what we bought new for Emmett is still in awesome shape and excited to reuse when last time I HAD to have everything new.
@MrsVoorhees I had 2 sets of parents tell me how awesome it is to have 2 boys less than 2 years apart today. Most days I get the "wow! You've been busy!" or "you're really going for it, huh??" Yes.. I try to respond with a lot of positivity but it probably comes off as being super naive about the road ahead, although I semi know what I'm getting myself into.
Don't let them get you down, we are doing this mama!!!

  • Thanks everyone. @Shiva14 Don't even get me started on my grandmother... she's my late father's mother and we've never gotten along. Everything is about her and how it effects her. Everything is an insult or an affront when it involved her family. Apparently my aunt and cousin changed their travel plans because they have a wedding to go to back home, which fair enough. But that doesn't mean you ask the other event to change their plans, it's just ridiculous. I'm letting it go. They're not able to come, so be it. I'll see and visit with them before they go.

So we've been having troubles with our internet and our company sent us a new modem to hopefully make it so the internet doesn't go off and on every 5 minutes. It screwed everything up yesterday and i spent 30 mins on the phone with them sorting it out. Now today DH and I both had porn viruses on our phones and on our laptop which was plugged into the modem (not even on wireless) and the Internet keeps going off every 5 minutes still. So maybe the modem has a virus? It is the most annoying day ever. I told DH I'm guessing some piece of technology is going to be thrown against the wall by the end of the day.

@RG1 in sorry, but the thought of porn randomly going off while you are trying to fix your internet at 100 weeks pregnant made me giggle. I'm so sorry you have to deal with that though! Is it me or does it seem like the internet gets worse 50% of the time after the service provider sends someone to fix it?
And the worst part is after an unsuccessful sex attempt awhile ago, he told me to google "pregnancy porn" to see how the pros do it hahah. So then I was like "maybe it was that porn..."
New development though - he realized the  DNS or something wasn't our address. So the modem was connecting to some other number. But he has to reset it and set back up the wireless router etc when he spent all day doing that yesterday when we got the new modem. F*^!

  • Are you ladies doing anything special for stamping baby's feet at the hospital? I want to make a shadow box with the bracelets and what not and thing it would be nice to have his feet stamps in there as well but I'm not sure if I should bring special paper for it or what..

  • @AmMcc12 I don't even know how you'd check with your hospital about this, but mine stamps it onto a cardstock that they provide and into the book "On the Night You Were Born" (I bawl like a baby anytime I read this to DD). If they didn't, I might have brought the baby book and/or a cardstock of my own.

@ajn092 I stalk the other BMB's for baby pics. With a September 1st due date I was over on August quite a lot so now that they are posting a lot of baby pics it makes me so happy.

@Shiva14 My husband and I live in the suburbs, 40 minutes away from downtown Toronto. We also have only one car, but that is because I cannot drive. Since I don't work it makes it easier and we just do all the shopping and appointments together.
I makes me annoyed tho because all my life I lived in big cities before now so I was always able to get around with public transport and now I can't even walk to the grocery store (well technically yes, it is a 30 min walk, but I can't come back with lots of bags.)
He does own his own company and works from home three days a week so that helps too.
I guess maybe my situation is too different from yours... : / But I definitely do not like the feeling of not being able to go places on my own.

  • @AmMcc12 I was thinking of doing the same exact thing, but using card stock instead. Also, I want to bring my own colored stamp pad... Is that too much lol?

i did a few cute things with DS footprints, but now that I'm having a girl I feel the pressure is on more than ever
  • I had two showers this week and keep wanting to post about them and reply to a million other things but I am freaking SICK. I suppose that's the downside of playing with everyone else's adorable children near the end of third tri. More annoying, my husband the one upper is feeling worse than me,  allegedly. Please.  My country for some Nyquil and a few extra days off work.

@blondie080300 I got the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding from the library awhile back but had to return it, I should get it back out. I'm putting way too much faith in my ability to just figure it out (no classes, no LC, just advice from Mommy friends). I've heard it's great!

  • Ladies I can't remember who posted those helpful list apps that you can sync with your husband? It was some point mid week. Any help? I really need one.

  • @RG1 how do you sync lists? I can only see an email option. I was hoping for more of an automatic thing. Like I add things to my list and it automatically pops up on my husbands.

Yes you can do this. When you create a list, go to "list members" and invite him. If that works, it should automatically sync to his.

Edit: I realized you've probably already made a list. If you go to "share" and type in the email that his account/app is set up with, it should sync to his device and not just email it

  • I want to say thank you ladies for your positive and encouraging responses to my little freak out last night. I was just in a total funk because I was tired and couldn't sleep and I borrowed a ton of worry and let it hang on me. Internet hugs in return to everyone.

@RG1 - Enjoy your new stuff! Yes, budget is important but you've already spent the money so you can just adjust going forward. It'll be worth having done it your way. We went mostly hand-me-downs on baby clothes but wanted to buy other new stuff for the same reason as you - so we could have it for multiple kids without worrying about it wearing out.

My Random: Cat/Cow is amazing. Every time my belly gets SUPER uncomfortable because baby is all curled up in a weird way or he's decided to do the Kazatsky around my womb, doing cat/cow gets him to straighten out and calm down a little and I usually always feel better after. Hopefully this little trick keeps working as his space gets smaller and smaller over the next month.

  • Thanks so much @RG1! I really appreciate your help. I'm so forgetful these days. I think of so many things I want to do thoughout the day, but can't do bc of the kids. Then when I have time I'm like "wait what did I want to do?"

No worries! I don't even have kids but this app has been a godsend for us!

  • @mhilpisch10 We use Workflowy but I'm sure the Wunderlist app is great too. If you do go tge Workflowy route, you and your H can just log in under the same credentials to share lists in real time. That's what we do. And, literally, I can add something to the list while DH is looking at it right next to me and it pops up immediately.

  • Random of the day:

I don't know if I'm genuinely second-guessing one of our name choices or just having a moment, but for the last couple of days I've been agonizing over our second boy's name (Aiden).

I like the name and I should be happy with it, plus DH likes it (it was the one and only name he even offered up), but I keep wondering if I'm going to be happy with it long term.

I hope this is normal jitters and not something that's going to end up being a source of regret down the road because I don't want to pick another name now (it was a huge deal picking this one).

I don't even know where this is coming from.  I'm guessing it's just new mom jitters or something and I'm overthinking things.  I'm at that point where I'm second guessing almost everything.

@mojiejo I went through this EXACT thing a few weeks ago. I definitely attributed my doubt to feeling emotional/overthinking everything. The only name H and I have been able to agree on is Jensen. I made an artwork thing for the nursery that had his name on it, and it was the first time I saw it written out. To be honest, I think it just freaked me out and made it "real". I told H "I don't know if I like Jensen anymore". He was upset because it took forever to convince him of any name and he'd finally started imagining our son with that name. And him being upset made me more emotional LOL. Bad moment all around. I would think its just jitters and perhaps it will go away. Within a few days I was back to liking Jensen. I hope you feel better about it soon, I love the name Aiden!

  • Thanks for sharing the pilates tip @Bibliobebe! I could have really used the cat/cow last night and will try it for sure when he curls up again and causes pain on my right side. Also, I am glad you are feeling a lil' better.

  • @blondie080300 To add on to it: when you're in the "Cow" position with your back arched downward towards the ground, move your hips side to side or in a circle. It looks completely silly, like you're wagging an imaginary tail, but it apparently helps wiggle baby into a better position even more than just doing cat/cow alone. It's worked for me so far so I stand by it as being effective!

Had some AMAZING Vegan sausage for dinner. I mean a-m-a-z-i-n-g. I know that vegan/vegetarian meat substitutes don't always taste on par with what it's supposed to be imitating, and even when it does the consistency is often off. I concede that this is the norm for veggie meats. HOWEVER, sometimes I'll come across something that even DH (a meat lover) is amazed over. Tonight's veggie sausage and sauerkraut was a total success and we will be buying that veg. sausage again.

Speaking of sauerkraut, anyone else craving that stuff?

  • @RG1 Thank you!  I feel better knowing I'm not the only one.  I think it is just jitters and everything getting real all of a sudden.

DH thinks I've lost my mind, but is being supportive (including being on board with me picking another name if I were to decide to go that route).  I don't see that happening, though.  I'm pretty sure it's just an off-shoot of me realizing that I'm actually naming a real human being.

@blondie080300 That is exactly the brand it was. First time we've tried it. Definitely going to be using it more!  It was the Smoked Apple Sage one.

  • @Bibliobebe I haven't craved sauerkraut lately, but about 2 months ago, we ate it 2 nights in a row because I was craving it.
