Hi ladies! How is everyone doing? I'm 38 weeks and as much as I would love a surprise baby to come this week, I know its probably not going to happen. I got more on my to-do list done (car seat washed and installed). Still need to finish a hospital bag.
Does anyone have any good snacks they like right now? I'm trying to come up with good snack ideas because eating full meals isn't very comfortable.
@ThisisNumber3 I packed some gummy chews from Eastern mountain Sports... high calorie.... and you don't need to eat alot... its for marathons and stuff

Honestly I'm still able to pack it away, but I'm trying to focus on healthy protein and fat snacks. I'm eating alot of Greek yogurt with some granola and nuts sprinkled on top, cheese or hummus and crackers, avocado and beans, toast and peanut butter (or avocado). My friend recommended odwalla protein shakes as snacks for summer but I haven't done that yet but it seems like a tasty idea (especially if a homemade cheaper version).
Since I've been really hungry this last week I'm filling up on strawberries and whipped cream which is the opposite problem but very tasty!
40 weeks Wednesday and I have started to get way too many calls/texts/emails about whether I'm going to have the baby anytime soon. My MIL kindly checked on me for the first time since June to let me know how long and difficult first time labor is. Such a peach!
Everyone else's snacks are so healthy! Mine are now mini cupcakes, ice cream, and bagel bites.
@ThisisNumber3 I like the Sargento packs, they have little pieces of cheese, dried fruit and nuts. It's a good combination of salty, sweet, crunchy, creamy and easy to nibble on slowly when I just need something on my stomach but don't have much appetite. My favorite variety is cheddar with cherry infused cranberries and cashews.
I'm obsessed with grapes right now, an apple (crisp pinks are soooo tasty) with string cheese and a salted caramel rice cake with almond butter and banana .. Plus like pizza and cookies and ice cream
@ThisisNumber3 we're due date buddies!!(ok,almost I'm 8/16) we spent the weekend decluttering, set up the bassinet for downstairs, got the bassinet attachment for pack and play upstairs, and my husband wash the car cat hair off the car seat today.
I still need to buy some panties I don't mind throwing away afterwards and pack my hospital bag....
I'm so squished by this baby I don't even want to eat. I pretty much just want to guzzle soda all day long. Which I may or may not be doing...
@ThisisNumber3 my go to snack lately has been cottage cheese with tomatoes. Also, boiled eggs, whole wheat tortilla with turkey and cheese, trail mix, greek yogurt with nuts/granola. I also am having a really hard time eating full meals so I eat something small about every 2 hours or so.
I'm just trying to keep myself busy as I get closer to EDD. The good thing is that since I've fallen so behind on my "to dos", there's plenty to go around! lol

Yes! I need to revisit my to-do list! We got some good cleaning done, but other general stuff like making sure bills are paid and up to date could still be done.
Now that its August, I'm also planning out birthday party stuff for my other two kids. Have a cookie cake ready to be baked for my daughter. Need to figure out what to do for my son.
I made a massage appointment for Monday just so I have something to look forward to that is relaxing before starting another work week.

I think I'll finish my Thank You's tomorrow, since it is my last day off before a 7 day stretch of work. I also want to finish deep cleaning my kitchen, dining room and bathroom. Maybe all the cleaning will help me go into labor. Not holding my breath though!
Re: What are you doing to mentally be prepared to go past your EDD?
Last time:
I packed mine after my water broke too. She was early and it was surprising and frenzied.
And maybe I should do something with the car seat too??? I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
