My least favorite (not even the worst one, just the one that hurt my feelings the most) was when a customer I was helping through the window, came around to be helped inside the office, saw my baby bump and proceeded to say,  "ahhhhh, I was wondering why you had such a "fat face""

  • Baha I totally live with my parents, so your comment is even funnier. It's just temporary though... Sort of @DaniBanani16
  • I'm so thankful for this thread! I feel SO bloated!!! I was like what the heck is wrong with me. I don't remember that coming so early the first time around!
  • Friday Confession: Even though I don't believe anyone has anything that's not a "blump" right now, I keep coming back and checking this thread to see the pictures  :o and then mostly am just jealous of all your guys flat stomachs LOL  :D
Do you want to see my 7 wk bloated with gas and blood blump?? I'm sorry, I feel so crappy I know I shouldn't post that, but can't help myself.

But really. There is a bulge/swelling right above my public bone and seeing how there was only 1 peanut, I'm blaming the swelling on the SCH!

@Sugargirl1019 Oh my gosh ya I bet with your situation you have a hard little blump! And probably uncomfortable  :s Hopefully that gets better soon!

ETA: Actually I will admit that last night I was pushing around on my abdomen and swore that it felt harder, but then again I almost never do that so I determined it actually could feel like it always does and I would probably have no idea lol. But it's exciting to think about a small bump coming in a few weeks!
  • Oh the blump! I feel like a blimp! My DH keeps commenting on how we must be having twins, because I look like I did 20weeks pregnant with DD and I can't wait to have my ultrasound soon and rule that out.

@msirni0 this is sooo me at the beach this week! I'm finding that I'm wearing my regular fitted shirts not caring if the blub shows! I am pregnant for heavens sake! What do others care if it's a blob of bloat or a real bump!?!? Haha! As long as don't run into anyone I know!! Then I'll have a problem! Lol

  • @chrstna618 Umm I'm only 7 weeks and my friends SO touched my stomach last Friday and said "so how's the baby!" I was so in shock I was like uhhhhh  :| I plan to wear a button that says "NO TOUCHY TOUCHY!"
  • I gave in to my maternity pants today... I just can't do the jeans anymore! I probably could have made it... but I already had them in my closet, it was just too easy!  My gut is just left over from DS1, I can't blame this kiddo for anything!

  • My bottoms are, for the most part, still sitting pretty at 8 weeks. However, my bra and tops are another story. I usually wear size S in tank tops and M if I'm bloated. Today I just went right to size L (all of the tanks are the same brand), because I like breathing and not squishing my already uncomfortable and super sensitive nips/boobs. I'll be curious to see if I carry high, assuming all goes well. Then again, I never had a waist or hips to begin with.
  • @chrstna618 I had maybe one belly rub with my son. I don't even rub my own belly (and seeing other people do it to themselves makes me anxious, so weird I know).
  • @dubcompanion- I bought 2 bras in a bigger size my last pregnancy so I have been only wearing those 2 every day until things progress further in case I go up even more in size. I have to wear a bra to bed too because the tatas hurt too much which I hate. **sigh** I am just happy I haven't busted out the belly band yet.
  • @Spartanrd4 I'm also wearing bigger bras I bought the previous pregnancy. The twins are just so itchy and sensitive (and the nips are still on fire) that nothing feels good! But oh well. I'm pregnant, so at least the discomfort is worth it!
  • Well I guess I officially look pregnant. 2 people at work asked me today if I was. The bloat is REAL. I haven't even told my boss yet so guess I have to now.
  • @dubcompanion that exact thing happened to one of my friends. Her sons teacher asked her when she was due and she had a loss just 2 days prior.

@mcdonald-bailey I'm so sorry your friend was put on the spot like that. That is exactly why people shouldn't assume.

Who the F asks someone if they are pregnant? Seriously unless you are like visibly 9 months pregnant nobody should ever ask that.  So rude.
Seriously though. I've had people ask me a handful of times when I was due. I carry any extra weight in my gut, and it is so embarrassing. One customer at my store then told me she had a hard time loosing the baby weight after her first...I'm the same damn size I was pre-pregnancy with DS. WTF is wrong with people?!

  • Not only do people comment on your size but they ask the most personal questions!! Things no sane person would ask a stranger like... Are you going to have a vaginal birth? I had a GUY ask me that question. WTF do you care buddy if I wanna birth this baby out of my ear it's none of your business.
WTF?? Sounds like a big creep!!

I only go in to the office two days a week (work from home the other 3).  I did NOT make a good call with my choice of pants today.  My blump is boomin and I am SOOOOOO uncomfy.

My mother's advice: Never ask if someone is pregnant unless you see the baby crowning
    ^^^THIS! Excellent advice!

I made that mistake one time and I will never ever do it again!! The poor lady had given birth a couple days prior but didn't have the baby with her at the time and I just wanted to melt into the floor and die!

  • FFWC I loved it when people touched my belly, although the only stranger that did it was an old lady. I'm kind of touchy feely though.

  • The strangers approaching you continues past pregnancy, just a warning. It's really hArd to be out in public with a baby if you are introverted because everyone wants to talk to you. It's even worse when your toddler is also shy and people are constantly getting in his face or trying to touch him. I want to snap at people every damn time. Why do people feell like it's okay to invade atoddlers personal space, when they are clearly saying back off with body language, just because they are smaller?

@chrstna618 hip-hooray for buttoning pants! I had been regularly drinking Kombucha, which usually keeps me super regular and bloat free, but I haven't been loving the taste since pregnant.  I should probably force it down.
  • @kjd291 I can't do kombucha even when not pregnant! Ugh! My husband brews it in our kitchen lol
  • @chrstna618  I brew it too! It's so good for you-I personally add lots of fresh fruits and juices for flavor so it doesn't taste to strong like most people's.
  • @JAGinMI ya some people never fail to amaze me..
and I haven't even considered buttoned pants in weeks lol the blump is out of control.. no idea what I will be wearing at DS birthday party on Saturday
