Monday bitchfest

Re: Monday bitchfest

  • @Car0liiine Im sorry you had such a bad experience. :( I would definitely ask that ham hands (isnt that how you referred to he/she in another post?) not be involved in your care when you go back to L&D. My friend had a nurse like that and when she complained about it, they made sure the nurse didnt get involved. Hoping you get your mojo back though.. You've always been upbeat and positive on here, so I hate that someone made you feel like this. No matter what, you've got this. Easier said than done sometimes, but try not to let ham hands scare you and affect your experience.

  • This is super petty but I was so annoyed by my MIL today. She bought us a special calendar to keep track of baby milestones, which is something that I know I'll enjoy, but today she made me feel so bad for not starting to fill it out already! When she stopped by the hospital today, she was like "Have you filled out the calendar? You need to fill it out every day! You need to remember everything! You need to remember who was the first person to hold him!" I just had a c-section two days ago, so the thought of getting out of bed to search for a pen is exhausting, and I had way too much going on to take note of the first person to hold the baby. Plus if anything, I'm going to save my energy for filling out important forms like my short term disability paperwork and baby's birth certificate. We've had 27 visitors during our stay here, most of which stopped by more than once, and I'm friggen exhausted.
  • My bitch is that I can't freaking stand my boss anymore. He is so whiny about me being out for maternity leave soon - God forbid he have to do anything for himself. He hasn't taken any opportunities to learn how to do anything that I do for him (he's a new surgeon fresh out of fellowship so had never worked without a PA) when I offer to show him. Well, we're down to the wire - I could go into labor at anytime buddy. Your problem now - I don't have the energy to worry about it.

This sounds like my worst nightmare.  I am slightly nervous about the 7 immediate family members coming in town and planning to visit while we're in the hospital.  I'd lock that door too or have the nurse tell everyone that you can't have visitors today--doctor's instructions!!!
  • @alyssajrob22 Thank you. I'm feeling better as time passes. And my husband already said he's going to tell them he doesn't want that nurse when we go back.
I told him to be nice because she didn't technically do anything wrong, just tell them I have a bad association with her. He tends to be a little forceful with medical staff after watching his mom come within minutes of dying when he was a teen because no one would believe her when she was telling them what was wrong (peritinitis, her intestines ruptured.) Whereas I on the other hand tend to not speak up for myself because I want to be a good, cooperative patient.

  • Continuation from my Monday bitchfest... Cleaning lady came out today for "deep cleaning" but didn't clean the outside windows, doors, and a bunch of base boards. Surprisingly, I'm not feeling confrontational (especially with someone that doesn't speak my same language) soooo I'm finishing up the job now. DH is really good at handling stuff like this but I felt uncomfortable with the whole thing. I had to talk to her using her son and I didn't want to say I was dissatisfied to her son to repeat to his mom. Awkward. I did mention the outside windows to see if she would do it and she said, "no, inside" and I didn't want to push it any further. I'm also worried if this is considered a deep clean, what is going to happen during a normal cleaning?

Ughh why am I being such a puss about it!!?? The fans are clean and the stove top looks brand new so I'm just trying to focus on positives lol

  • @justaudrey outside windows and doors are not typically included in a deep clean. Base boards should be. I cleaned houses for a living after high school. Don't be afraid to tell them you're not happy. I had people literally check my work before I left because so many cleaners before me would skip or forget stuff all the time.
  • @Stephanie7693 ahh thank you! Overall it was a little inconsistent. Like some of the doors had been dusted but others not so it seemed like they just cut corners or whatever. Her son was doing a lot of the dusting so I wasn't sure if maybe he just didn't care. We had discussed the outside of the windows in the beginning when she was quoting everything so I assumed it would be done. She cleans my friends house and usually does their outside windows so I assumed it would be the same for us.

  • Went to Taco Bell for dinner, got home and they completely messed my order up. Talk about an upset pregnant woman, now I'm pouting and considering warming up leftovers from last night.
  • @SkiChic626 and @kwilliams3402, I have definitely learned my lesson for next time! "Doctor's orders" seems like a good excuse that they couldn't question :)

If she's doing that stuff for other people I would expect it too. Maybe you should get a new cleaning lady?!

This happened to me at Taco Bell the other night too! I was so upset. DH went back and got them to correct it telling him he has an almost 9 month pregnant woman at home. They laughed and very quickly made me a new order! It was fresh too.
DH offered to go back but it's about 20 minutes from our house so we just called them to complain and left it at that.
  • @Lynnlove28 I'm sorry! That would be a long drive to have an order fixed.
  • @Stephanie7693 She ended up texting me later sort of apologizing for the confusion and saying she can do it next time. She has a fear of dogs, which is why we had our dog super far away in a caged area away from all the windows, but I think the language barrier is an issue for both of us. This was the first time she's ever cleaned our house. I've never had someone clean my house before so I had no idea what to expect, except that it would hopefully be better than what I could do on my own lol
