Twatwaffle Tuesday 8/2

Re: Twatwaffle Tuesday 8/2

  • These headaches that have been hitting me since Saturday....that is my TW. And having to leave my bed to come to work when I really would just love to stay home and sleep and get stuff done. Greatful to have a good job, but some days I'm like wtf...
  • Loading the player...
  • My toddler is not into sleeping... She's waking up ready to party from 3-5am. We're on day 4, I'm not going to make it.
  • I have been working on product filings with the FDA and they are so boring and tedious. Some of my customers have decided they don't want to register their own products and want us to register them and then bottle and sell their products back to them. The filing is due next Monday. TF people, you've known about this since May. Get your life together.
  • This virus that DS and I have been fighting all week. We're both 1000% done.

  • CL lady who wanted our bed NOW. She was super interested and had been looking for that model everywhere.
Oh, and she was going to come by in 45 minutes, could we disassemble it by then?
Oh, and she drives a mini cooper. It would fit, right?
Oh, and can we bring it down to her car?
Oh, and she has a Dr appt after that, so she's kind of pressed for time.

    ....guess who never showed up?

    Sigh.

  • can I say that my toddler is a twatwaffle? Does that make me an unfit Mother??? LOL....

But seriously... She is so freaking bad!!!  I nanny for another little girl during the summer about 6 months older than my daughter. Every day MY daughter instigates jumping off the stairs, jumping on the couch, jumping on the bed and running and slamming into our glass sliding door... And will repeat these offensives a billion times a day even after time outs
She gives zero F's about punishment.     LE SIGH!

  • My nipples are twatwaffles. I woke up from a dead sleep with them feeling like they were on fire and falling off!
  • The place that is binding my thesis is my TW - they assured me 3-4 weeks to deliver, we're at week 5 and I'm leaving for TX today. Wish me luck - if it isn't here I'm going to demand they mail it at their expense to TX...

  • Haha @MLRocha I feel you. My pup is a TW too!! last night he ate a whole bottle of lotion. it was a small bottle, but still! It was brand new and I'd bought it to try to prevent stretch marks. He also got into our trash last night and I woke up to ripped up trash all over my main floor. What a twatwaffle!

  • This is my drive every morning. I'm exaggerating, but it feels like I share the road with idiots like this every day.

We have two sleeping beauties in heaven.

  • the girl we just hired and shares my office with has a service/therapy dog. Normally this would be fine, but the thing is the worst behaved service dog I've ever seen! She tries picking through my trash can, wanders around, takes off and goes into other peoples' offices, and sticks her face in my purse and comes behind my desk. Oh and begging, sticking her face in my lap when I'm eating lunch.  Her owner is just like "come here honey, oh come on silly" and whatnot. CONTROL YOUR DOG, LADY! I'm considering bringing baby gates to block off my side of the office. Maybe they will get the hint then.

    Ah, pregnancy rage lol

  • @WinchesterGirl I believe she is a real one, she did training, has the official vest and everything (although she like never wears it) and the girl has some legitimate medical issues. However, I think she treats her more like a pet and does not keep up w/training or expect her to be well behaved. So I feel like the dog kind of lost her discipline or something. I work for an agency that works with disabled clients and have seen quite a few service dogs, and none of them act like this. They all sit quietly and still right near their owners. That's how I envision a service animal. This dog is driving me crazy, and her owner in turn since she doesn't control her!

  • @grapeskittles4lyfe I had so many experiences like that when trying to sell stuff on Craigslist last year! I think I had a 30% rate of people who actually showed up when they said they would. I was so mad. One lady insisted on having a 2 hr time window claimed she had an appointment before and couldn't commit to anything besides this time window. Fine I just wanted rid of the stuff. Well she never shows and 2 hrs after her time window ended she emails me saying she'd be there in 3 hrs. I was just like nope sorry already sold the stuff. Then she tried to give me a sob story and I was just like sorry it's gone.

Another girl raved about the loveseat I was selling. She was so happy it matched the couch in her living room now... blah blah blah. Called me an hour before the time we agreed on saying she was on her way. Never showed... I tried calling & emailing, radio silence.

People are so rude. I'm just donating/throwing out anything we aren't taking when we move this time b/c I'm not dealing with people again.

  • @munchie2.0 That's what I'm saying! She acts like an unruly pet, not a service dog! right after writing all this, the dog literally was jumping up on me as I was trying to walk with my lunch, trying to get my food. I kinda lost my cool yelling "OMG really?! I hate begging! She is out of control! why is she not on a leash if she acts like this!?" so now things are  nice and awkward in my office. On the bright side, the owner was a little more firm with her making her stay on her side of the office. But why did I have to make myself look like a crazy bitch in front of half the office for her to try and control the dog? As of yet, no one else has said anything because they are all obsessed with dogs and think she's the cutest thing. I do like dogs ( I have one ans was raised with them), but this is confirming that I am definitely more of a cat person. lol

  • I guess I'll nominate myself lol. I'm the twatwaffle who hates/is terrified of dogs. That would be a total deal-breaker for me in an office setting. But it truly is people like that who make me more adamant in my anti-dog stance.

My daughter can have a goldfish. If I'm feeling particularly magnanimous, she might get a kitten at some point.

  • My crazy emotions. Totally twat waffle. I have cried so much lately. My big kid starts school next month and just preparing and thinking about it has made me full out ugly cry multiple times the past couple days. Like get your shit together woman!

Awww, I cried the whole summer before my oldest started kindergarten. I am a stay home mom and we didn't put the kids in preschool. It was a major adjustment. I cried about it whenever someone asked if we were ready for him to start school lol and I wasn't pregnant!!

  • People who wait weeks to cash checks are twatwaffles.  Do you not want that money? 'Cause I can keep it if you find it burdensome.

THIS. Our contractor took 3 weeks to cash the last check for our bathroom. I kept forgetting and almost bounced that sucker like 3 times.

  • My TW is my god damn landlord. I've been renting from her for over a year and EVERY MONTH we do rent the same way. I mail out the check on the 1st of the month, she cashes it within a few days. I mailed out the check on Monday. She texts me a few minutes ago to tell me she needs my check today because she is getting ready to go out of town and will be stopping by to get it.....uhm...I already mailed it. Why would you not just tell me BEFORE the 1st, "hey, don't mail rent this month, I'll need to come pick it up from you"?? UGH! So now I either have to just hope she doesn't cash the check I already mailed her, or pay my bank $25 to stop pay. And she won't let me take the $25 out of the rent check...because I should just trust her to not cash the other one.

    I'm so pissed.

  • I just got fired from work today.
    Biggest Twitter Waffle ever.
So for those who don't know, I fell at work a couple weeks ago and broke my nose and got a concussion.  I've been off of work for 2 weeks to recover from my concussion.  Today, our brand new department manager (whom I haven't even met yet) called to fire me over the phone.  This was a new job that started in May.  She claimed that because it is within the 90 day trial period, they think it is better if we part our ways.  Mind you, it has been more than 90 days since I started this job.  And I just know that the real reason they let me go is because I'm pregnant.  They found out because when the paramedics came, I told them that I'm pregnant and my supervisor and co-workers were all standing right there.
I'm so freaking angry right now.  My husband still doesn't have a job either.  This is what is wrong with our culture.  People only care about the bottom line, how much money they are making.  They didn't take into account what a great job I was doing, either. Woof.

  • @AfKash I agree with the others about consulting someone. It is illegal to be fired just because you are pregnant. They have to have a legitimate reason (which it doesn't sound like they have). I'm so sorry this is happening to you :(
  • @AfKash Ditto on calling a lawyer.  Pregnant women are a protected class so that's discrimination.  Good luck and I'm sorry your in a shitty situation.

  • @AfKash I second this.

@AfKash I'd request a copy of your new hire papers to see the official start date.  If it's after the 90 day period, I'd use that as leverage and tell them that you will be speaking to an attorney because you believe you're being discriminated against.  That is complete bullshit.

This.  I also think you'd have a pretty damn airtight workman's comp lawsuit on your hands.  It is management 101 to know you can't fire someone when they get hurt on the job.
Thank you to everybody for your support.
I did consult with a lawyer and he said it'd be a difficult case to prove.
When I fell, I was technically still on the clock but was taking a 15 minute break.  I was walking outside on a sidewalk that is owned by the city.  I tripped on the uneven side walk and that's how I got injured.  My employer did submit a workman's comp case review and the insurance company determined that my employer is not at fault.
However, the very next day "someone" fixed the sidewalk and my company issued a new policy stating that anyone who goes off premises even during their 15 minute break must punch out.
To put the icing on the cake, the person who fired me is a brand new manager whom I haven't even met yet. Clearly, we see where her priorities are.

  • @AfKash that's so gnarly. What sort of industry do you work in?
  • @AfKash that's so gnarly. What sort of industry do you work in?
@PerraSucia I'm a medical coder. And a brand new one, too. There are ladies in my department who have been coding for 5, 10 years and their coding accuracy is 93-95%. I've only been coding for 3 months and my accuracy is already 90% and I'm fast, too.  But I guess they don't care about that.  Can I swear on here? I really want to use profanity right now.

  • Yeah use the fuck out of profanity. What state are you in? That would not fly in CA @AfKash
  • @Lafreeman21 there was somebody from HR that was present during this telephone conversation.  And this HR lady went on to add that I made no effort to apply for FMLA or anything.
    1. I have a fu%&ING concussion.
    2. HR told me I need to submit that application online using the company's intranet.
Well, I had been trying to access the intranet from home but wasn't able to for some reason. I had been going back and forth with HR to get access to the intranet. When I told her this, the lady was like "well I don't know anything about that.  Who did you talk to?" I gave her names of 2 people from HR but still the lady days, " well either way, we've made our decision."

So I would like to know, if I was sitting in a coma instead of a concussion, would they say the same thing to me then too? "Well you didn't make any attempt to apply for FMLA, bla bla bla." They probably would. Those asses.

    @PerraSucia I'm in Illinois.

  • Doesn't FMLA only apply if you have 6 months of work?
