@KimmySchmidt, were you the one that made the homemade chenille blanket? If so did you use a chenille cutter or scissors? Fell in love with it and want to make one since I can't find what I want on the marker. Maybe it was @Jabreen?
@RN1stBae It was me I tried scissors and after a few rows my hand was killing me. You can get a "slash cutter" though, that is almost the exact same thing, but easier to find and cheaper than the chenille cutter. I think mine was under $15 at Hobby Lobby, plus I used the 40% off coupon. The chenille cutters run closer to $30 and are really hard to find in stores (at least where I am!)
@MrsVoorhees I'm not sure...totally new to bpp's or lack od movement so I'm trying not to freak out/Google.
Anybody know what might mean?
I go for these every week towards the end of my pregnancy. Today baby girl was sleeping and she honestly maybe moved once during the BPP. We were poking and trying to move her but she wouldn't budge. They didn't give me my score but said since her HR was fine and she was measuring well they weren't worried. I followed my BPP with an NST and the first 20 mins she still wouldn't wake up and no movement, even with the juice and crackers they gave me. I asked to sit up and she moved maybe 3 times during the next 10 mins and they sent me home and said everything was fine.
Did they say they wanted baby to move more? Or are they worried about baby's breathing?? I know it's hard but try not to worry! Sometimes our babies just need a nice long slumber.
Edit it to add...did they say your fluid was okay?
@COmama87 Thinking of you, Mama! Hoping for good news in the morning!
@AmMcc12 I can't remember if I wrote my shower thank you's from DD but I've written every thank you since she's been earth-side from her! I think it's cute!
@mom2adoodle so, so precious!! Fin will graduate from the NICU in no time. Enjoy your time with him (take care of both of you!), and hope to see you here and there.
It's our birth month!! I'm due 8/31! DH installed the car seat last night (he made it seem like it would be a breeze, instead was sweating in the garage and spent 40 minutes...), we have the hospital bag packed and a diaper bag, not sure what else is needed, but definitely feeling some excitement and anxiety as well.
Baby is all elbows, feet, and stretching out in my belly with some sporadic vaginal lightening so I am feeling tiiiired. The SA at BRU today warned me that it's going to get worse as the weeks progress.
My random - My boob has been hurting so much so I just rubbed it in the shower to help the pain and guess what comes leaking out! 34 weeks and I accidentally expressed some colostrum. Oops
@frogdog06 can't remember if you are from the US or Canada. If us you won't need much (if any) of your own stuff for baby in hospital, certainly not your whole diaper bag... leave some room in it to snag all of the swag (tubes of Vaseline, wipes, diapers, alcohol swabs, etc etc)
I changed it a bit, I marinated the fish in the lime/garlic/olive oil mixture, but I added in some hot sauce and cayenne because I like things spicy . You could also do a beer battered cod, which is how the restaurant does it
@MrsVoorhees we did Kindermusik for a year with DS. We just recently stopped because our teacher moved and he's doing 2 days a week at preschool now. Anyhow, he LOVED it and really did learn a lot in the class. Ours was $65/month, so $20 is awesome!
Re: Kindermusik good deal! Im excited! DD loves music and is a fierce dancer. Seriously, she moves her hips like Shakira. I love how much she loves music. I was hoping it would be a good class and not something where they just sing "the wheels on the bus" over and over!
I kind of dropped out in July since I had family visiting and was crazy busy at work...but I see I missed big news from @mom2adoodle. I will have to go back and get filled in, but for now, congrats on Fin's arrival and I will be keeping you both in my prayers for speedy recoveries and short NICU time.
@Steephers123 They're sooo good. We just had them for dinner, so amazing, not quite the same as Tacofino's but pretty damn close. If you ever get the chance to go to Tofino, BC (they call it the Hawaii of Canada), definitely hit up Tacofino!!!
@mom2adoodle He is seriously so adorable and his hair is amazing! I'm so glad to hear he is doing so well and I hope you continue to participate. You are a regular here and no one wants you to step back just because your baby early!
@COmama87 I'm glad they are keeping you. Rather be safe than get into an emergency situation! Keep us posted! You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hi all, thanks for all the kind words! LO is moving a bit more now, thankfully! They were concerned this afternoon because there wasn't much variability in her heart rate, no movement, and she wasn't taking practice breaths. They said fluid levels were fine and her heart rate was around 150. I had a headache that wasn't easing up so that was also a concern. Hopefully all the monitoring and blood work look good and tomorrow's bpp will be better than today's.
@MrsVoorhees I was just looking up Kindermusik classes today. I don't have experience but I think I'm going to sign DD up. I figure it will give her something to be involved in and something just for her when DD2 comes.
what do you ladies think of sending the shower thank you cards from baby? Tacky??
No, but it feels a little weird. I mean, they're gifts for the baby, technically, so it would not be weird for the baby to thank the givers. But on the other hand, it is an unborn baby not capable of gratitude. I signed all mine from myself and DH, but I've received cards "from the baby" for other showers.
Ladies, I discovered something so sad today. Burger King AND McDonald's doesn't sell chocolate milkshakes at 7:45am! I was on my way to work and all of a sudden the baby HAD to have one. So I stopped at both places and they said it was too early. What the heck? This is America and the year 2016! I want what I want when I want it! LOL
I got a chocolate Oreo shake on my way home from work but it just wasn't the same had I enjoyed it earlier when the baby wanted it. Woulda made my whole day...

Oh and @mom2adoodle I am also on the bandwagon with hoping you continue to post when you can (obviously understanding you have other priorities than most of us at the moment) but we really want to see you around and stay connected as we all birth our little ones! Plus, I also can't get enough baby Finley pics!

The doula teaching our birthing class is amazing and the hospital we are birthing at sounds amazing (allows you to birth anyway you want as long as you don't have epi, immediate skin to skin for a couple hours) and I may have talked myself out of an epidural and this was only the first class! I'm now getting even more excited and anxious for the end of September!!
So, my nurses may be right after all. They all suspected that that "weird" feeling I've been getting since 2nd trimester that's been waking me up in the middle of the night was anxiety, but I didn't agree because I've had an anxiety episode before and it did NOT feel the same.
I woke up just now with the same feeling and it was attached specifically to a dream I was having where my nephew couldn't fit his GIANT beach towel properly into a tiny plastic water bottle. I was worried that people would get impatient waiting for him to figure out how it was supposed to go in and the anxiety over it woke me up and kept me up. LOL! *sigh* Oh well.
Just snacked on some Pringles. Bumping and browsing to lull myself back to dream land!
@mom2adoodle That baby could not be any more precious!
My random: I'm off on my last business trip before baby! It seemed so long ago when it was planned but now it's here and I'm all 'What was I thinking?!' Anyway two four drives back to back and then I'm home free (or at least main office bound). Whahoo!!!

I'm not understanding! I'm unyielding! I DEMAND REGULAR FINELY PHOTOS.
(kidding of course, but the pics are just soooooo cute)
@blondie080300 - do you have Dunkin near you? One of my local ones has a sign up about blended milkshakes.. and being Dunkin I don't think there's anything that they restrict to certain times of day.. though I could be wrong. Also, their frozen dunkaccinos are amazing if you are ok with some caffeine, and they also have frozen hot chocolates. Ok.. why am I at work and not in the DD drive thru right now?!
DH went to the fire station this morning and got our car seat inspected (we installed over the weekend) and they said we did a good job installing it! YAY one less thing to worry about. Plus hospital bag is packed. So I guess we are ready! This is getting toooooo close. Que the scared/happy/excited/panic feelings now!!!

There's not enough coffee today. Ugh, damn caffeine restrictions.
Also, not that I want anyone to have premature babies but I'm ready for more in this group!
