@AnnaS930 normally yes, but because they (my aunt and grandmother) are staying there, there won't be room for DS and I.
I thought that might be the case. I'd still try to go early on in their stay and see how things go. The super short labor has me a bit concerned, but OB will have a recommendation for you.. I can't remember when mine wanted me within an hour of the hospital, might have been 36 weeks?
I was thinking something along those lines too - maybe stop going once I hit 38 weeks and just go for the first week?
Worst case scenario there's a decent hospital 10 minutes from my mom, it's just not the one my OB would be able to go to.
My OB was so relaxed about being an hour from the hospital last time I don't even think they mentioned it. This time they are concerned enough that they offered to induce so I don't have an accidental home birth but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that either. I will ask what they're comfortable with when I go next week.
My due date is September 3rd but I have a strong feeling he will decide to come in August!! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone by and I just know I will miss being pregnant! But I really can't wait to see my baby boy's cute face so many exciting changes coming up soon!!
August! Hopefully this month will fly past and I won't have a baby! Before my due date (9/15) my 2 yo has a birthday, my 5 yo starts school, all three of the girls have their annual well checks, and it'll all be so much easier without a newborn. I'd like to get our going to school routine semi established before the 5 yo has to miss a few days. They'll all be staying with my parents for a few days when baby is born and it's too far for them to bring her to school.
Somebody at Starbucks asked me when I was due and when I said "September" she said "wow, you look great, I looked like such a whale." So it's August 1st and I'm not due until September 21st, so there really is still a lot of time for me to also turn into a whale. but I accepted the compliment graciously.

Woohoo! I have been saying September in response to everyone cause I'm the 13th so smack dab in the middle... So really could be anytime. Up until this month, like even mid July people would say it is so far away. Now that it's finally August I think people will realize September isn't very far away!
@RG1 - I'm due the 6th and always specify "the first week of September" so that people understand that it's closer than they'd first thing (back in June, July, etc). I'm not ready to start telling people "about a month to go".. that's insane.
I'm OK with being close to D-day and will be more than happy when it's September. I'm not ready to juggle two kids but I'm more than ready to not be pregnant anymore.
I know I'm really late to the party, but wanted to offer my congrats to my fellow poodle/doodle lover @mom2adoodle! Fin is so perfect and I hope his NICU stay is short and sweet!
@Shiva14 - Would it be possible to convince your mom to drive everyone to visit closer to your house/neighborhood a couple of times for the second week so you can get maximum relative time AND stay closer to your hospital? Maybe not for the whole day, but just to grab lunch, breakfast, park/playtime, etc. I know some people would think a 50 minute drive just for a few hours would be unreasonable, but that's definitely not an unreasonable drive time among my friends/family so I thought I'd throw it out there!
My random: DH has very important job interview tomorrow, and I'm ridiculously excited for him - he's been looking for this promotion for years! He's been very frustrated with his current role and if he fails to snag the job he'll actually end up with demotion and a pay cut - it's just the way his company is restructurin. So my fingers are like quadruple crossed that he gets it!
The downer is that he'll have to miss my Dr. appointment that he really wanted to go to, but the interview is definitely more important than a standard check-up, I think.
Holy August. Somehow, my husband thinks this is NBD (probably because it's our 4th rodeo) but I am freaking! We have clothes for this baby, and that's about it. I'll be doing some MAJOR shopping this week!
I sliced my my finger open this morning and my 7yo seems to be sick. I need a redo! Upside: I made my wicked delicious spaghetti sauce (with extras for freezing for post-baby use) and today is a day off, so we had a 3 day weekend
Bachelorette ladies: is the finale tonight? Or next Monday?
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
I'm getting my Tdap shot today... I was stressing out about it because I have needle anxiety and i just got a phone call from my dad that my mom is in the hospital because she may have had a stroke. So now I'm way more anxious... And the doctor's office is behind so now I may be late for my ob appointment in 45 minutes...
@marikkita12 I'm sorry to hear about your mom try not to psych yourself out about the shot. It didn't hurt, and I have needle anxiety as well... I think because I was tense, it hurt worse (a few days) after.
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
@marikkita12 - I have an insane fear of needles as well. It's not that it hurts that badly, it's just I don't like the idea of being stabbed and poked. I always have tell the nurse/doctor/phlebotomist that I can't see the needle or I'll puke and I look away or close my eyes. Shots are quick, though, so hopefully it won't be too bad for you!
@JennM205 YESSSS. Amazing. I won't be able to watch until late late this evening, or tomorrow afternoon, so no spoilers friends! Love trashy tv. Bachelors in paradise looks amazing.
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
Happy August to all of us When I look back it definitely seems like time went by fast, but when you are in the middle of it, it feels like an eternity!!
I am due September 1st so this whole time I have been wondering if I will have an August or a September baby. Either way it is soon!!!
@PoodleDoodleOoo Good luck to your husband for his job interview!
@mom2adoodle I wish you and baby boy all the best, hope your stay in the NICU is a short one!

I also love trashy TV.. we were watching The Challenge this past weekend and a commercial came on for the next season of Teen Mom OG. BOOYEAHHH! Starts August 22, for those interested. I thought to myself "That's not too far away!".. and it's also only about 2 weeks before my due date. C'mon August, keep giving me little countdowns along the way, we don't want time to slow down now, no no no!
@Themaritimemama Bachelor in Paradise does look promising this season...lots of drama AND supposedly more than one engagement!? (Not a spoiler - this is what they're showing in the ads. ) The best of both worlds! But...I'm not going to lie, I'm annoyed that they brought crazy Chad from JoJo's season. I get that it gets them ratings, etc. But as a network, they really felt the need to get behind that!? Again? I was sort of indifferent to him going on at first but after I saw the "Men Tell All" episode - with his smug smirk and total lack of feelings of wrongdoing, etc - I was less enthused. THEN, I saw some Bachelor in Paradise trailers with him confronting pretty much everybody (including Chris Harrison) and am already over it and the season hasn't even started yet. Not to mention the fact that the dude seems to have some serious issues that he needs to work through - why indulge him further by putting him on TV again!? Let's just hope he goes on and is sent home the same week so we can keep that bs to a minimum.
I'm not trying to stir up drama.. but I find the individual rant from someone who has graced us with 1 HDBD picture, that if I remember correctly I thought was a bit of a first intro in and of itself.. is a little out there. Like .. I've never spoken to any of you, here I am complaining...
Probably just being stabby today. Keeping my mouth shut

I thought that too, but I have a hard time remembering anyone that's not a regular (no offense to those, I just can't keep track) so I wasn't sure. And the fact that she acted like she was made me assume she was.
DD has been calling baby "Brontosaurus" since the beginning of my pregnancy. (When we first told her, she asked what baby's name was. DH told her "Brontosaurus" and it sort of stuck...)
When it came time to finding a coming home outfit for baby, we struggled. We're Team Green so needed two options (or something neutral) but couldn't find anything I loved. DD wore a sleeper home - the same sleeper I wrapped and used to tell DH we were pregnant. So there was some meaningfulness and I wanted that again for this baby.
Fast forward to now and DH's super crafty cousin made us this onesie to bring baby home in! My rando question - can I bring just this, with the intention of also covering baby with a light blanket for the ride home? Or do I need to find some shorts or pants to go with it? (Temps here in Aug/Sep are 80s/90s.)
ETA - Holy cow, this pic is huge! Sorry, mobile bumping...
@JennM205 it is super annoying that they've got chad on just for the ratings... Especially chad + the guys he ALREADY had issues with to begin with?! Did Chad AND Evan really need to find love at the same time? I think they'll really drag out Chad's stay.
I think that onesie is super cute, but I would probably do some pants with it and then the blanket. What a thoughtful gift from your h's cousin! I always worry about newbs being cold, so I tend to overdress I suppose.
We're doing a sleeper and slippers plus blanket.

@seitzy3 what is a BBT? Also, I'm excited you're still calling her Ava! I love it and I think it sounds great with your other girl's names.
@marikkita12 Im sorry about your mom! Hope everything turns out okay.
Oops typo I meant a BPP. It's a biophysical profile (just an ultrasound) and they just check her growth. So I guess essentially it would be a growth scan? Haha I didn't even put two and two together when people said this. They do this every week because of my thyroid condition. Just had it done and she looks great! Approx. weight at 5lbs 14oz and measuring on time at 36 weeks. Her feet looked ginormous haha
currently in my NST and I know she is sleeping so I asked for some juice and they also brought me peanut butter crackers. Thank god because I was sttarrrrvviinnggg. Also 1cm dilated, I know this means nothing but with all the pressure and how low she is I knew I had to be a little! Hey, 1 less cm meter I have to go
@JennM205 - I'd probably throw on some little blue or green cotton pants.. that's just me. Temps probably don't necessitate it, but it would complete the outfit in my mind.

Not everybody takes those pics. I think I have taken a total of 3 and one was a pro photo. There are so many people on here how do you even keep track of who is around enough to be considered a regular?
It's baby month for me! I'd be due September 3rd if it weren't for my second womb tenant, but it could literally be any day now.
I'm just hoping they don't decide to come on the 3rd, the 12th (only 1 day before 37 weeks, which is making me nervous) or the 25th (unlikely, but possible). Those are all birthdays of close family members (brother, dad and DH's sister respectively) and since they're already sharing a birthday with each other, I'd rather they didn't have to share with someone else in the family.
I can't believe we've made it to August and life as I know it is going to change forever sometime this month!

I think my point got misconstrued.. I meant that the ONLY other post/comment/anything was a HDBD picture last week. I certainly don't scan the thread looking to see who is going to post and making sure people do every week.. I haven't gotten one up myself in maybe a month. Also, I don't "even keep track of who is around".. I'm on a desktop at work. If I click on the poster's name it tells me exactly how many comments they've made.. this one had a total of 2. Today's and last week's picture. I'm not paying that much attention.. just made 1 mouse click to figure it out since I didn't recognize the name.
@Asht I don't worry much about if I've seen people in the HDBD, but if it's a name I don't recognize as all, I do find some of the confessional or venting posts a bit odd. Not unwelcome, just wondering why you've all of a sudden felt comfortable sharing a bunch at the last minute. I will also often click on a name to look back at their old posts/comments.

Guys.. I have a lot of work to do. Tomorrow I gotta come on at LEAST for my Tuesday ticker change.. but if I'm all over this thread.. someone yell at me. my productivity is so far down, and I keep thinking "yay, I have a lot of work that will make the day go by quicker!!" then I still don't do it. Tomorrow - Productive Anna is showing up to work.
For all you momma's out there that feel like they're struggling to balance work/life/pregnancy....I was talking to my German friend today and they start maternity leave at 34 weeks....because that's REALISTIC! Lol! So bravo to all of us! This is hard yo.
@RN1stBae Thanks for sharing! I feel better hearing that. I wake up every morning dreading going to work and I can barely keep my eyes open while I'm here. Not to mention all that has to still be done at home before the baby comes!
