This is my first pregnancy and I have no idea what to expect, what I'm looking for, etc and it's making me a nervous wreck! My OB appt isn't until next week (I'm at 6+1) and I keep freaking myself out consulting dr Google. I'm gong insane waiting to hear that heart at and find out if everything is ok! Anybody else in the same boat? Anybody have tips for staying calm until I see the OB?
Re: Any over-anxious FTMs out there?
I think we are all worried about the unknown. The first time for anything is scary!

@Schumerator I know exactly what you mean. I'm more nervous about what's to come once baby arrives than what's going on right now (although I still get nervous about that too sometimes). I'm grateful and excited about having a baby but I also feel like I can't fully wrap my head around it, if that makes any sense.
all I can do to try to relax is to remind myself, like others have said, that as far as I know, everything is okay, that odds are that everything will remain okay, and that if something isn't okay, there's nothing that worrying -- or anything else -- can do about it. But repeating it to yourself and actually accepting it are two very different things!
10/2009 - TTC#1 Stopped BCP! Let's DO this!
7/8/2016 - FET #2 with Grade B (8 cell - 3 day embryo), fingers crossed this one sticks.
7/19 - Beta was 74. BFP!!!!; 7/21 - Beta was 182; 1st U/S on 8/2; 2nd U/S on 8/16
im a second time mom, and I'm still freaking out. Hubby and I were given a less than 1% chance of natural conception. Then we had our daughter naturally (she's 1.5) and now this one! I took 3 pregnancy tests because I wanted to "make sure".
I'm so desperately trying not to panic about a miscarriage 24/7, but it's so hard!
I am also worried about what to expect being pregnant...as well as labor and delivery, and what to do with my baby once he or she arrives lol. I have no siblings, have never babysat before, and am freaking out about being someone's mommy. Don't get me wrong I am very excited, just really scared and overwhelmed. My best friend had a baby 2 months ago and I hope I will feel a little better once I tell her. She was terrified too, and now she's loving every minute of it.
I'm glad we have this forum! I think it will help us all to know we're not alone.
I also have zero cause for worry, it's just the lack of knowing that gets to me.
We are in this together!
I can't say I've found the cure, but it does help to just understand that I will be ok and life will go on no matter what happens.
I've been having a lot of period like cramping. Some of it is pretty intense (wakes me up or makes me stop what I'm doing). It doesn't last for more than a few minutes and I'm not spotting, so I'm not calling the OB about it (yet). Everything I've read says this is normal, but it's just disconcerting.
