@kmvisioli- what does the tucks do? Should I add those to the padsicles I plan to make?
also- any reason you all wouldn't want to wear shorts PP? I have these VS pj's that are basically shorts and a tshirt but the shorts are SUPER stretchy around the waist so I expect I'll be able to wear them throughout my pregnancy. Anyway, was thinking about maybe just wearing those... Unless there's a reason not to? They are really short, FYI (or my a** is huge... Probably both) so not sure if that matters
@bnsmith85 tucks are just thin, premoistened witch hazel pads, so once you don't need quite as much as a padsicle they are nice just on top of a panty liner (I usually put 3 along the length of a thin pad or panty liner). I wouldn't add them to a padsicle, since it's basically the same as the witch hazel you pour on.
My only hesitation with shorts, especially really short ones, is that they may not cover or contain the huge undies and pad situation at the hospital. Plus I find shorts can sometimes ride up a bit more than stretchy pants, which would not be desirable.
@bnsmith85, i was honestly also just looking at VS loungewear! I love these and was hoping they'd go on sale. lol. I would totes wear them after delivery. (dunno about that eyemask though. hhahaha)

@bnsmith85 I wore comfy shorts when I got home from the hospital. I didn't have an issue with pads etc. but I had a c section and didn't have to deal with any tearing or major hemmroids or soreness from pushing!
I was looking at men's pj/lounge pants today as my hospital lounge clothes. I find men's clothes are looser, especially in the crotch area to accommodate their jiggly bits, I just couldn't decide if I wanted plain ones or go with smurfs or something lol
@laurapcos I almost exclusively wear men's pajama pants because they are actually long enough for me! I vote you get something fun that makes you happy and some plain black ones that you can wear out without it being obvious you're wearing pajamas.
Thanks for the tucks info y'all! I will invest in some PP
@annabenanna - those look tight. I'd get a bigger size than you usually would if you go with those pants... I mean, juuuust in case you need or want the extra room down there
@LauraPCOS - my favorite PJ pants are also men's. Nautica has really good ones that are soft and comfy too. Definitely not smurfs though, if you end up going with that.
something I thought of, I'm really not going to love this whole must wear full coverage undies all the time thing. I'm just not a fan lol
I wore a nursing tank and athletic shorts the first time with the hospital mesh underwear (which is so underrated, it's the best for accommodating those huge pads!). No issues with the nurses seeing what they needed to see and I was comfortable. I also had flip flops which I was very happy to have for moving around the room and the hospital floor. I wore the hospital gown I believe only to move from delivery room to post partum room. I had a water birth and was wearing a sports bra when my son was born. After I got out of the tub, delivered the placenta, got dried off, I put the gown on and wore it that night (he was born near midnight). The next morning my own clothes felt so good to get into. This time Im hoping for a birth center birth and will go home a few hours after delivery. Im probably going to do yoga pants and a sweatshirt since it'll be chilly in late October.
I wouldn't plan on wearing anything PP that 1) Won't cover up a large pad 2) You don't want to get blood on 3) Won't offer at least some degree of leak protection and camouflage
@LauraPCOS all I wear is men's pjs ... I love that they are so roomy and more comfy! I just got 2 pairs for after delivery.
Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
The darkest black i can find is what i will wear ! Black, black, and more black. But also a really cute paisley print night gown i found on clearance at walmart because thats our inspiration for babygirls name, Paislee
I plan on bringing a few nursing tanks, a few pairs of yoga pants, slippers and my own pads. I am not a heavy bleeder so the giant hospital pads are pretty unnecessary for me after about two hours PP. I also refuse the wear the hospital gowns. I don't plan on having very many or any visitors but I still like to feel somewhat normal after birth. Obviously this would change if I were to have a c-section.
With my first I packed black VS yoga pants and was so self conscious the entire time we had guest in the room since I was wearing the mesh hospital underwear and pads under them. So this time I plan to bring loose athletic or pajama pants since I know I'll be much more comfortable in them.
I also plan that I'll bring a few nursing tanks to wear with a sweatshirt or a tunic style that'll be easy to remove for nursing.
Re: What to wear after delivery?
I will say I didn't need them for as long as I thought I might, so then I used a thinner pad with tucks.
