@PeachGal23 I bought similar materials to make a mobile, but haven't figured out how to attach the feathers to the leather lacing. How did you do it? I stopped working on it because I realized that without a crib, I'm not sure where to hang a mobile? Should I just hang it from the ceiling in a corner? Hmm
So I looove doing crafts, I have ever since I was a kid, but I have zero time to do anything. I've had yarn to make DS's baby blankie for months and I have yet to start it. Hopefully once I'm on leave and DD is at daycare for a day or two I'll be able to make some headway. We'll see.....
Here's the blanket I've been working on. We don't know the sex yet and my cousin is team green and due in 3 weeks. I haven't decided where it's going yet
STUCK IN THE BOX
Would you mind sharing your pattern?? I want to make one like this for DD's big girl bed.
@Car0liiine I just hot glued the cord (I used twine) to the end of the feather stem, about 1in gluing flat to the stem. Our crib isn't in the room yet either, but I plan to hang it from the ceiling over the middle of the crib (which will be close to the corner).
I never thought I would get to post anything here because I am sadly not crafty, but I did finish an accent wall I'm proud of. This is for DD's room when we move her from the nursery (soon, hopefully). It still needs touch up work, but I'm happy with it. We have more of modern/contemporary style, so it fits in well with the rest of our house.
My husband just built this monogram for over the crib and I am in love! He is currently working on a shelf/toy storage piece. I will post pics when it is done.
I'm usually really crafty in the nursery - making crib sheets and artwork and whatnot. But I just don't have the energy this time around. The one thing I made was a fabric banner for above her crib. I love how it turned out though!
Thanks, @AMCooper000! I originally wanted a mobile like that I found on Etsy, but when I saw the shop was on a break, I googled and found instructions to make my own. Not difficult at all!
I'm loving all of these! This has to be my favourite thread! Here's some things I've made Curstains & receiving blanket (I know flannel is not ideal for Curtains but it was only $3/meter so I had to ) Paper mobile Fabric covered boxes and arrow decorations and an owl bonnet in the box on the left but you can't really see that): one of those car seat cover/nursing cover things: String art! (So fun!) Some paintings: Crib skirt, blanket, and rail covers: My first quilt! (Well sort of quilt) Some felt decorations: Change pad cover and flannel/terry protector: More string art and a painting my son did: Coming home outfit! I didn't make the onsie, but the pants, hat and headband I made (we are team green so hat for a boy, headband for a girl). Thats all for now. Sorry if some of the pics posted twice. It wasn't working very well for me on the app.
