@ibabyloveb87 That's why I loathe kick counts. They are more stressful than anything. So long as I'm feeling him move throughout the day, with at least a few strong or spazzy ones here or there, I'm fine. If I don't feel him for awhile, I drink coffee. That's worked well for me.

My OB hasn't said one word to me about counting kicks. I did it the other day just out of curiousity and it was fine but I'm not doing it again. It will just stress me out. Like you said, as long as I feel him somewhat consistently and during his usual active hours, I'm fine. If that changes, I'll call the doc.

I just heard from the trainer and they don't think we need to put our dog down. They think that was completely out of character for him and that he was in a situation where he felt he needed to protect. They said, although it'll be tougher, she's confident we'll be able to find a home. And it wasn't even like she was saying it but not sure. She sounded totally okay with it and said they deal with dogs like him all the time and have never had to tell an owner to put a dog down. They actually even feel like we could be fine with the baby but I've seen him around kids and don't know if I can trust him. We'll see. But the biggest weight has been lifted and I feel like maybe we can enjoy the rest of our vacation! I got off the phone and instantly started sobbing because I'm just so relieved. Thank goodness
@MRSCORKER I feel the same way about kick counts. Dr didn't bring it up at 28 week appt. Until they mention it, I'm avoiding it because it'll stress me out. I didn't feel him a lot Monday and Tuesday but we was super active on Wed. If I were kick counting, I would have stressed myself out over nothing.
@bnsmith85 Yay!!!!! Glad you will be able to find your fur baby a new home!
All my doc is asking is "is he kicking?" And my response "yup!" And that's the end of that topic. I keep waiting for her to suggest counting but she hasn't yet.
Question for those who are counting - I know you're suppose to feel 10 kicks in 2 hours, but are you suppose to reset your kick counter every 2 hours? Or do you pick a random 2 hours and if you feel 10 kicks you're good for the day?
@LauraPCOS that's been my experience so far too. I did it once, but I'm not going to again until the doctor brings it up. He's still so sporadic, it would stress me out too much.
@LauraPCOS You're supposed to pick a time of day were you know the baby is active. So when I was doing them, I would do them between 5 and 7 in the evening cause he's very active then. You sit or lie down and start the count with the first kick. Once you hit 10, you're done for the day. If it takes more than 2 hours, you're supposed to drink something cold or eat something and try again. Once you get 10, you're done. If you still don't get 10 in 2 hours, you're supposed to call the doctor.
So I ended up in L&D one day because I hadn't felt him most of that day. Turns out he was just having a quiet day. That's why I hate them. Lol
WTF self. It's Thursday but I don't care. I ordered new shoes and I was SO excited to get some pairs that don't hurt my feet. Well I ordered the wrong size and now I have to send them back for an exchange. There isn't even a store that I can return them to nearby, so back through the mail they go and it'll probably another 2 weeks until the exchange is processed and new shoes get here. Gah!
