@colleenkevin Yep, it's seriously like that on so many of the threads over there. It's just...not my thing at all. I really like that those kinds of things wouldn't be acceptable over here, there's just a certain amount of respect that I think everyone deserves, even if you're on completely different pages about things.
I admit that I like the snark on the Feb '17 board. I think what gets missed is that we don't see the ladies over there who are giving the snark when they're being supportive. I remember seeing most of them on the TTGP board when I lurked over there, and they are well informed and very supportive and encouraging.
I'm definitely okay with being snarky to drive-by posters who just want us to guess at their baby's sex because they don't believe the u/s tech, people who think they get to start threads constantly without contributing elsewhere to the board (aka using us as their personal Google) , or people posting repeatative threads (all of which have been limited in the past couple of weeks). I am grateful to be surrounded by kind ladies, and what our board culture is, but sometimes I wish we would all be a little more "NO" on some posts to keep from getting a million people we've never seen before asking us if we think the u/s tech told them the wrong sex.
I mostly just lurk this board anymore because am 99% sure I'll deliver in Feb, but wanted to point out that the ones in Feb who have "claws out" the most are also some of the most fiercly supportive people I've seen on this site when they see someone having a rough time. They're passionate, and yes they like to have some dramatic exchanges but more often than not it's either just expressing differing opinions or frustration at the 30th "are we making a fb group" by the 30th random person no one's seen around before. I personally enjoy both boards equally, for different reasons. My FFFC for this one is what the heck is poutine? The idea of gravy on fries kind of makes my stomach turn, but I'd love a nice chocolate milkshake to dip them in. Cheers
I watched the Republican National Convention last night. I love Donald Trump and I pray he wins the presidency.
I really, really don't like Trump but he's not Hillary and there's an ever-so-slight chance that he'll uphold a prolife platform, which Hillary will not. So I'm going to be voting for him and I'm really embarrassed about it because I really dislike the man, but he's the one who I dislike the least.
Also, fully expecting to get major side eye for this because it's really not a mainstream belief right now, but I think that the reason why all of this awful stuff is happening around the world and in America specifically is because our society has turned away from God. So many people right now are either lukewarm about God OR so self righteous in their beliefs that they're bigots, which isn't Christ-like either. When the Israelites turned away from God, he took away their good leaders. I believe that's what's happening to us right now. Flame away
I guess my FFFC is that while I tend to lay low, I actually appreciate some of the snark and feel it's pretty justified at times. Some of the women in Feb17 have been so amazingly informative and supportive during my TTGP and KU'd journey and I'm so thankful to have them in my internet life.
@MrsLittleMac poutine is a Canadian dish. It is french fries with cheese curds and gravy. It is by no means healthy, but it is good. (I'm not Canadian but I live in northern Vermont so poutine is plentiful here)
@ceclarlinetlo@sagoon interesting! I've lived 3.5 hours away from the Canadian border for 7 years and have not yet had it, haha. Might have to wait 'til morning sickness eases up a bit first, though!
@jlea05 Whoa whoa whoa. What the hell did I just walk into? When I first read you love the Drumph I was like "all right, keep that one in the list of people to avoid". But now I, as an athiest, am destroying this country? EXCUSE ME?! I'm a social worker. This means I've dedicated my life and wallet to helping those in need. I live my life with empathy, honesty, respect, and values. But because I don't follow your religion I'm a country ruiner? I'm am so offended by your comment I can't even find my words right now. You really need to take a hard look at yourself.

@poetryandoceans Omg you totally made my day!! literally made me laugh out loud in bursts!! And as a fellow Canadian please let me say I am sorry that you're sorry. And sorry for saying sorry. Sorry.
@emilyn2012 nope, total lurker there too. I threw some lovetits around here and there, but I never really posted. I didn't really get into the board until later in my pregnancy and by then it seemed like I was too late to the party. I promised myself I'd be involved in the board for my 2nd pregnancy, so I think my first post here was the same week as my BFP this time around.

I couldn't have said this better than @loveinak did. I'm basically a lurker over here, but I was super active in TTGP and have so much love and appreciation for those women. Snark forever.
Also: +1 for what @cjs260 said. Whatever your religion, or lack therof, do what works for you and be nice to people. I think that most everyone can agree with that. Signed, an atheist liberal immoral heathen

@poetryandoceans I heard "Your Song" on the radio the day before I took my pregnancy test and cried. Ever since I had my BFP, I always play the song during my commute to/from work. I also sing songs from our relationship/wedding to the baby (our wedding song was "The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson). And I guess this is fitting for FFFC - I LOVE Britney Spears. This baby has probably heard "Someday (I will understand)" too many times.
ETA because TB likes to eat my posts.
We are music buddies!!! The Way I Am was on our wedding CD from my bridal shower and Britney Bitch is one of my faves. I secretly want to go to her show in Vegas and rock out, even if by myself because all my friends hate her. And my hubby. Can't stand her. Lol
@BrennansMom2012 That's awesome! I'm pretty sure no one at our wedding heard the song before, but immediately loved it! Also I'm dying to see Britney in Vegas! I keep joking that DH better take me to see her after we have the baby.
@ThePax89 what was the BMB? There was so much snark, like look another pregnant woman asking if she can eat a deli sandwich,, or look another UO on leggings as pants.
THIS is snark, amusing and not damaging. Name calling and insults etc is not ok, and I really can't see straight bitchiness being classified as amusing snark. It's just unnecessary.
@TinaBelcher sorry it took me forever to respond again. I appreciate you answering me and after re-reading as you suggested I understand what you meant.
I agree. Blaming a specific group of people for the "downfall" of our country is hurtful.
Also, as Christians, we knew this day/time was coming, we should not be surprised by it but continue in our teaching to love everyone and to show them the love of Christ! I'd be hard pressed to win an atheist or liberal (not meaning all liberals are not Christian) to the Lord after telling them it's their fault for destroying our country.

Let's just let everyone be happy with their own religion or lack thereof without condemning anyone for ruining the country.

We're you on the N14 board??
