Confession 1: I made this thread because I have several confessions.
Confession 2: I'm leaving my H for Kate McKinnon. Just kidding, but seriously.
Confession 3: I'm on vacation, and I want to go home so, so badly to clean. I could blame this on "nesting", but I would be lying if I said this wasn't my normal personality. I've got my energy back, I've had a restful vacation, and now I'm ready for my house to be spotless.
I have ladies from our church stopping by in like 2 hours, and I haven't vacuumed in a week or two because my vacuum broke and I'm too tired to deal with researching anything non-baby related so I haven't replaced it. And I have a toddler who spills crackers and sippy cups all over it. It looks clean from a distance but if they walk on it they'll know. I'm torn between not giving a shit and not wanting them to think I'm disgusting.
Yesterday I went to the store to only get stuff for dinner and to make brownies (for real this time). and bananas, watermelon and queso just fell into my cart.
@cjs260 I made the mistake of taking my honeymoon when I was 10 weeks pregnant with e. That was a fucking nightmare. Kate McKinnon isn't my style, maybe it's her voice...it doesn't do it for me.
I haven't showered since Tues morning. DD's been getting her first molars and it seems that this 4th one is a real bitch because she has been waking up at night with "boo boo head", so my already-interrupted sleep is even more interrupted. DH went out of town on business Weds morning (and solo parenting while working full time is no joke - god bless anyone who does this on a regular basis), my toddler doesn't care if I'm clean, and I work from home...so I've let exhaustion and laziness take over. I'm running around all morning, swamped with work all day, and the last thing I want to do at 8pm is shower and dry my hair.
I haven't gone this long without showering since DD was a newborn.
I was a little late to work this morning, because I stopped at Starbucks for caffeine. I want to feel more little baby kicks!
It's just an unsweetened green tea lemonade. I'm not trying to go crazy over here. Also I bought a marshmallow dream bar for this afternoon. I debated buying another one to eat on my way to work, but I resisted the urge.
I already confessed this yesterday, but I have bought way too much baby stuff. I just... I found crib sheets that match my theme, okay? And change pad covers. And swaddle blankets.
Once I bought furniture that could store the baby stuff... it just kinda... happened...

MMMM this sounds so good. I was debating making brownies this weekend, now I'm definitely making them.
@aishmc I bought a snoogle the day after my husband left on a work trip; he's been gone for a week and the snoogle and I have been enjoying having the bed to ourselves... I don't know how much space he's going to have when he gets back... whoops!

You and me both!
We started off with little piles of stuff laying around the apartment. Those piles have turned into mountains.
I feel fortunate we won't close on our house and move in until late next month so it's the one thing stopping me from buying the nursery furniture But all the other stuff? Oh it's happening.
@canavara oh man, having the furniture just opens the floodgates, so be prepared. I'm just so flipping excited; I need to remind myself that "hey, people are throwing you a baby shower, maybe you should leave stuff on the registry for them..." but they're all just so stinking cute!!!
I should be packing since we're taking a trunk full of stuff to our storage unit tomorrow, but instead I'm watching tv and texting my parents (who are spending the day at Disneyland with my son), with boxes all around me so that when hubby comes out of his office (he works from home), it looks like I'm doing something productive.
My FFFC, could also double as my UO. I am so so so so frustrated with the anti-police stuff. The same people who have been screaming don't blame all Muslims for the few ISIS are (not all, but for me and my circle it's the same people) now saying all cops are bad and only out there to kill us. Why do facts no longer matter? Why? I just don't feel like people are waiting for the truth they are just clamoring for what the media is feeding them. Ugh!
I have multiple police officers in my family, I also have multiple black family members. It's a sucky time.
I just bought a double city select and a Tula today. My husband may change the locks.
Hey, yeah- City Select. A necessity? I want a mountain buggy duet but a lot of twin moms say to get a front and back AND side by side option, and there's a huge sale on Baby Joggers on pishposhbaby.c today.... I have one in my cart but I'd never really looked at it before...

Literally no one associated with BLM is anti police, just so you know.
@TinaBelcher I'm strictly speaking about my circle of friends. Had a friend of mine (who is white btw) that said he is now more afraid of cops than criminals or terrorists. I'm sorry, but that is plain ignorant.
I believe there are many wonderful people associated with the BLM, but I also know that the media is the devil and they do whatever they can to cause controversy and spin the stories the way that will get more ratings.
@mommywesley It really feels like the media is making everything so much worse. There's no such thing as unbiased reporting anymore and that's really frustrating.
I watched the Republican National Convention last night. I love Donald Trump and I pray he wins the presidency.
I really, really don't like Trump but he's not Hillary and there's an ever-so-slight chance that he'll uphold a prolife platform, which Hillary will not. So I'm going to be voting for him and I'm really embarrassed about it because I really dislike the man, but he's the one who I dislike the least.
Also, fully expecting to get major side eye for this because it's really not a mainstream belief right now, but I think that the reason why all of this awful stuff is happening around the world and in America specifically is because our society has turned away from God. So many people right now are either lukewarm about God OR so self righteous in their beliefs that they're bigots, which isn't Christ-like either. When the Israelites turned away from God, he took away their good leaders. I believe that's what's happening to us right now. Flame away
I fully believe the voting system is crap and our votes don't truly count. When a state gives it's delegates to the runner who LOST that's it for me. And that happened multiple times this year. It happened to Cruz and it happened to Sanders. These two puppets were chosen by the establishment. And now we have psychotic followers on both sides who were slamming these 2 candidates a few months ago. Not saying if you vote for either of them you're psychotic...lol its just me at my end of the line with it. I can only vote for so much evil before calling quits and sadly I've reached my limit.

lol yeah that's not awesome, as a white man he's the most privileged in the world- he should definitely sit down
Oooh, I've got another one! I've spent way too much time today putting together my playlist of "non-lullaby lullabies" - AKA sweet soft songs I love that I will be singing to wee ones that aren't considered lullabies. There are a great many Tragically Hip songs, in honour of their farewell tour that is kicking off tonight...
Do you guys have any songs that you'll be using like that?
(For those of you who don't know, which is most of you, I assume, The Tragically Hip is one of the "peak Canada" bands around, and their lead singer was diagnosed with terminal cancer recently, so this tour is... high stakes, emotionally speaking. Fellow Canadians, favourite Hip song?)
@poetryandoceans along those lines, H has decided that instead of playing classical music to my belly we'll play death metal (mathcore) instead because it's all mathematical and should produce the same (disputed) effect, no?
@poetryandoceans I heard "Your Song" on the radio the day before I took my pregnancy test and cried. Ever since I had my BFP, I always play the song during my commute to/from work. I also sing songs from our relationship/wedding to the baby (our wedding song was "The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson). And I guess this is fitting for FFFC - I LOVE Britney Spears. This baby has probably heard "Someday (I will understand)" too many times.

I usually start with traditional lullabies and when that doesn't work I move on to gentle Disney songs like "You'll Be in My Heart" from Tarzan and gentle pop songs like "Your Song" by Elton John. Funny story - one night I decided to try "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic and DD stood straight up on my lap, dug her head into my shoulder, and did the Titanic pose! Lol

(Help me. I hate metal so much.)
What about the apocalyptica Metallica album as a compromise
@ThePax89 I bought a Tula when I was only like 8 weeks (ftm) and had it shipped to the US from Ireland! My husband thought I was nuts. I had to have that certain pattern of course, and it couldn't wait!
I just had to sit in my shower hugging my knees and rocking to cleanse myself from this thread. If you are voting for Trump, shame on you.
Really, I respect your right to chose whomever to vote for, but please really think about the repercussions of someone who thinks that banning a religious group could have. Just because it's not your religion now, doesn't mean it won't be in the future. Trump is in no way a Christian, and will halt all acts of whatever he think will win the conservative vote if he gets elected. There are so many things that just don't add up when it comes to him. And before you jump to that I'm just a Hillary supporter, I'm not. Also, Gary Johnson is another choice (though I don't know anything about him other than he's not a Clinton or Trump).
@poetryandoceans My lullaby playlist will be 90% the Milk Carton Kids
I scared myself getting dressed this morning. My getting-ridiculous boob touched my growing-more-every-day belly when I bent/ lifted my leg to put my pants on.
I literally jumped and tried brushing whatever it was touching me off.
Okay.............. And I'm appalled that anyone would want Hillary Clinton for president. @karaelaine1991 I completely agree with you in terms of this nation turning away from God. Liberal democrats and atheists are destroying this country on every level. But that is absolutely the last of what I will say on this issue, because beside my MIL, there is little else that infuriates me more. And lastly, I completely 100000% support our police officers. Anyone who has something hateful or negative to say about them can go sit on a red hot poker.

We've been moving along quite nicely mainly focusing on babies- since this site is about babies- so can you just not? Can we leave politics to anywhere else you want to discuss them except here? That's incendiary and really unwise for the health of the board.
