Re: Monday Bitchfest 7/18

  • I was sleeping perfect till my dog decided to come into the room and jump on my side of the bed and scare the crap outta me and wake me up. :s I've been up for over an hour now. And he's laying by my feet and I can't move well, he's a 85 lb pit. Thankfully I don't have to work today and can sleep in a bit. Hoping I can fall back to sleep now.  :/

Woke up at 5 am to my dog getting sick. DH let him out and cleaned it up but 30 min later he was at it again. Now I'm wide awake, annoyed and tired! Yay Monday!
  • +1 to the no sleep train.

my husband has a man cold and is whimpering when he can't sleep and sighing and coughing. ugh.

    No sleep for me either.

Stupid baby kicks when I'm trying to sleep. And they're not cute kicks, either. They're like huge thumps that wake me up. Last night the baby was kicking at exactly 12:30am, and was somehow managing to kick on both upper left and lower right sides. Hard enough to move my abdomen. It was like a tornado in there. It's seriously uncute.

Then I woke up at 6:30, and couldn't get back to sleep. Of course baby is quiet now. Argh!

  • +1 on the no sleep. I couldn't get comfortable all night long so I just tossed and turned. Then the dog jumped in bed this morning and scratched my legs so I just gave up and got out.
  • Woke up feeling sad for no reason, and FI woke up in a cranky mood so that made me even more sad.
Now I'm just laying here being a crybaby not wanting to get out of bed.

    Cue violins.
  • Monday is my and DH's only day off together. Excpet for today because I have to work. I have to go teach today and all I want is a lazy day off. Waaaaaaah.

  • Well I missed the cut off for my Saturday glucose test at the lab by 10 freaking minutes, so I'm back again today, missing work like I didn't want to. I got the lemon-lime, chilled, which I have to say wasn't too bad. Just like most everyone said, flat Sprite. I was able to chuck it in less than a minute. That was about 20 minutes ago. Not feeling so hot now, though. =/ I'm getting hot and slightly dizzy. But that could just be that I don't have my water and I can't have any for like another 40 minutes. I drink like 100 oz of water a day, and if I don't drink enough I can tell pretty quickly. I drank some this morning, but I didn't want to load up and then not be able to fit the dumb glucola in my stomach.

Also another +1 for no sleep. We had some wicked storms whip through at about 4:15, power kicked off and on twice, limbs came down, though not in our yard thank goodness. I didn't go back to sleep until I probably 5 ish. Alarm went off at 6:30 and I had THE HARDEST time getting up.

Here's hoping the next 30 some minutes go by quickly so I can treat myself with some tasty McDonald's breakfast lol.

  • +1 for no sleep! Stupid McDonalds made me wicked sick last night.  Ended up puking before bed, finally got to sleep, then woke up at 2 in the morning with cramps (which is always scary until you know what the cramps are for).  After I used the bathroom it took me another hour to try and get back to sleep.  *sigh* I really don't want to work anymore.

@ibabyloveb87 hahah yes!! that gave me a good laugh this morning because its so true. Didnt know this pregnant body could still move so fast until I heard him getting sick again!
  • I planned on working today for another girl, but our manager wouldn't approve it because it *could* create over time if I worked all my days this week. So, I had to give it up (knowing that I wouldn't wind up working one of the days, because I hardly ever get four days). Woke up to a message from my manager asking if I'm still interested in today.  The brat in me wants to say no, but the practical side knows I need to say yes because I was short on hours last pay! So now I'm on call, which sucks because if they need me, I need to be there in an hour and I'm relievin a girl who works in labor and delivery and would likely need to be into labor and delivery more quickly than thaf! Plus I don't have clean scrubs! How's that for a bitchfest?

But for real. That's the worst.

What the heck was going on last night?? My 3 year old woke up from some sort of bad dream, then I took her to the bathroom and then put her back in bed (she sleeps with us) and went to the bathroom myself since I was up. As I was walking back I heard her cry, my husband had turned over to cuddle with her but didn't realize she had already gotten so close and they whacked heads. Then it took forever to get her back to sleep because she had already slept 6 hrs by then and was trying to tell us she didn't want to sleep. That was 2:30.

My bitchfest is that I'm sick of people saying things like 'oh you have to try for a boy next time' or 'are you going to try for a boy still' or similar because we are having another girl. Even my SIL who I've told 3 times that we always wanted 3-4 kids says it all the time about having to try again. 1. Who says I need to have a boy? If I only wanted 2 kids they don't have to be of each sex 2. Not everyone only wants 2 kids. We always takes about having more then 2 but now people assume it's because we don't have a boy 3. Why do 'you' care if I have a boy or not?

Yes, we would like a boy eventually but it would not be the end of the world if we had all girls!!
  • No sleep here either! Nothing is comfortable and my hips are killing me.

@maf9866 I have a similar one. This weekend MIL introduced me to a cousin and as we were talking about the baby she went on about how lucky it is this is the first grandchild and it's a boy because apparently even though you can't pick, it's better to have a boy first if you can.

W.T.Actual.F. I was so pissed off I just stood there blankly. Um. No actually. You don't get to have a preference of the sex of my child.

ETA: she also made a comment to FIL's cousin who struggled with infertility for a very long time and was only able to conceive one child because of their infertility issues (and knowing DH and I struggled with conceiving as well) that my husband was "planned" but his sister wasn't. By that she means, they conceived DH on the first attempt but it took them 2 months to conceive his sister. Apparently they tried to have her in like June but had her in August instead. UM NO. Just no.

  • I have one and I really need to vent, but it's just too long and honestly it would probably sound like MUD. So I guess my quick bitchfest is I never have enough time on Mondays to stop and vent about the crappy things that happen on the weekend.

  • I've been away for a week or two, and am having lots of fun catching up on everyone!

I have no real bf so far, except to say that getting up at 6am and then heading out the door for a full day of work while DH (who doesn't have a job yet) gets to lay in bed and go back to sleep is the living worst.

  • @von1976 My baby managed to do the upper left/lower right combo yesterday (during the day). However, I did think it was cute! So proud!

I am having sleeping issues like everyone else. I had to cough/blow my nose/clear my throat a bit and I felt bad that I might be disturbing my husband. Then I actually had to wake him up on purpose because he was snoring too loudly.

My actual bitchfest is about our a/c again, but it's both good and bad.
After our compressor was replaced, it wasn't cooling properly, but the guy who replaced the compressor "checked" things twice and said nothing was wrong, and the warranty people kept telling us "we don't replace things for being old." And we kept saying, of course, we're not asking you to fix old, we're asking you to fix not working. My husband bitched at them until they sent a different service provider, and what do you know, the new guys said it was NOT just fine. The coils were not fine, the freon was not fine, the compressor that was just put in was crap. So they said just let it burn out and they'll make sure we get a new unit when it does. Throughout the night I heard it thumping and this morning it is clearly cooling way less than normal. So we're currently just waiting on it to die. That's not to say the warranty company won't fight us further, or that we won't have to suffer some without a/c in Texas in the summer (my husband will put in the window units, which I hate him having to carry them, though). But at least we were justified in saying hey, something IS actually wrong.

Sorry for the long story. I personally always read the long stories, because it's better than whatever else I have to do ;-)

  • They fixed our AC at work on Friday for the second time. I came in this morning and it felt hot. It's broken again already. AC guy is supposed to be coming back again this afternoon, but of course I wore jeans today. Back to fans and trying to move as little as possible.

  • @LGW2015 ugh! Not only does she not get a preference but then it's like: if I was having a girl, are you implying she wouldn't be the 'best' thing because it was better to have a boy first. Plus then what if you have all boys, then it switches and is like 'aren't you sad you don't have a little girl'... Pregnant ladies just can't win!!
  • No sleep the last 3 nights, between my newly developed snoring and terrible hip pain I just toss and turn. Not sure what to do about either problem.... not a happy Monday, I'm cranky and of course I have an 8 am meeting today. I hate everyone.
  • Lurker here, but thought as I have found something that worked I would offer it up.  Hip pain was making sleep impossible for me as soon as I hit the 26 week mark and no amount of pillows or added cushion helped.  So I did something I swore I would never do, I bought a recliner.  I have been sleeping in it since and usually go 4 to 5 hours before I wake up to go to the bathroom.  It glides and rocks so will wind up in the nursery once it is no longer my bed.
  • I'm just going to stay on this thread all day...

The kitchen renovation started today. They pulled out the walls and found stuff they didn't expect to find, and it's going to cost us $2200 more to reroute plumbing and dryer vents. We can't return the cabinets because we are at day 91 of a 90-day return policy. Argh!!!

We are going to try to return two cabinets tonight for shorter ones, where things can't be rerouted. If they won't take them back, we'll be out another $700ish dollars.

  • Well, my MIL is really excited about her most recent eBay purchase.... a car seat (for her to keep in her car). I get it, the seller says it's new but I just don't feel 100% comfortable with it and I feel like the purchase itself was a waste. It's not like they're going to be keeping her while we're at work and needing to constantly cart her around. This would literally only be used if they're watching her for us, and we'll be bringing her in a car seat so no need for them to have one.
If she had purchased a convertible car seat, okay.... she could get some use out of it later b/c those aren't easy to move from one car to another. But for this smaller seat that's portable, she really only needs the base b/c the car seat itself is always going to be with the baby. I just text DH to ask her to check with us before buying anymore of the big stuff like this. Between the yard sale PnP and the eBay car seat, I'm tired of feeling like I have to deal with these awkward text convo's and it's just stressing me out for some reason. ugh

We're still like $800 short on being able to finish our house and I'm stressing the fuck out. I wanted this to be done months agooooo. And instead we're just broke and pinching pennies and trying desperately to finish before this baby gets here.

  • I'm with you all on the no-sleep train. :(  My hips, back, everything feels like it's going to give under the weight of this belly too.

Also, I'm sorry @maf9866 and @LGW2015 !  I hate when people stay stupid shit like that.  Why in the world do they think that's okay?  Early on before knowing the sex of this baby, I would hear people tell me "oh I know you just want the baby to be healthy, but wouldn't it be awesome if it was a girl?!?!?!?  Because girls are the best!"  No, shut up.  Babies are the best.  Doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl, this baby will be awesome.  STFU.

My BF is that I have no clothes to wear.  I feel like M-F, I rotate the same clothes. over. and over. and over. again.  I don't wanna wear pants, I'm boycotting them till the end of this pregnancy.... so today I wore this $10 dress I got from a Chinese website, and came to work and the AC is busted.  $10 dress = cheap non-breathable material.  So this morning I'm just annoyed AF.  I need MOAR clothes.
  • @annabenanna I'm with you! I feel like I've been using the same shirt for years... I don't fit in my uniform or in any other top in my closet so I'm stuck with my pregnancy ones, I do fit in Tshirts but they aren't work appropriate, except for casual Fridays... so I do need more, but again... I have only 2 months left before maternity leave... It just sucks... specially on Mondays

  • @mayisch, ugh I know!  It totally sucks. :(  I think part of me is like "what am I gonna wear for the next 12-13 weeks?????" and part of me is like "suck it up, it's just 3 months!"
  • @mayisch, ugh I know!  It totally sucks. :(  I think part of me is like "what am I gonna wear for the next 12-13 weeks?????" and part of me is like "suck it up, it's just 3 months!"

Yup... Sounds like me when I talk to myself every morning... I just mix my accessories and try to diminish the fact that everyone has seen ALL my preggo outfits so far
  • F47F47 member
@annabenanna Same boat here. I wear the same things all the time. Sometimes twice a week (and I don't even work on Tuesdays)!

But, this is my last pregnancy, and I just can't bring myself to buy more overpriced maternity clothes with 3 months left. I dread going into my closet every morning. "Hmm...which of these 4 outfits will I wear today?"

@von1976 Oh that truly sucks, I'm so sorry! We have had our fair share of remodeling nightmares too & I can totally relate! Here's hoping things start getting better from here!

@annabenanna & @mayisch I'm with y'all on the clothes thing too. I'm trying desperately not to have to buy any more clothes, so I'm living in the same skirts & dresses on repeat. I also have a couple pair of capri leggings that are probably not work appropriate, but I've been sneaking them in every now & then too. I'll probably cry if somebody tells me I can't wear them.

  • @F47, i know what you mean!  I literally have like 5 dresses I alternate.  Sucks, but I also don't wanna spend the $$$ to get more outfits.
  • I understand on the clothing!! The only thing I did do is order a new dress for a shower. It also might work after baby and won't be obviously maternity. So we will see.

  • @kaessi I would cry too... I cry so easily lately I wouldn't be surprise...

  • @Kaessi - I've worked in the capri leggings, too! I am banking on the fact that I work with basically a handful of  men who have no clue what the dress code is OR are too "manly" to talk anything pregnancy that they just ignore me all together!

I'm also abusing the fact that they pay no attention to my outfits, so I'm able to cycle through the same stuff pretty frequently and they can't remember what I wore when!  I just don't want to buy any more... I kept telling myself that I'll wear it all again when we hopefully add baby #2, but with my luck I'll get pregnant during the opposite time of year and I'll have to buy a winter maternity wardrobe...
  • I know it's still early, but baby is still breech. :( normally a person shouldn't worry but with my history of breech it's hard to not feel irritated about it.
