I just love the newborn photos where the baby has a little smirk. During my surprise ultrasound yesterday the baby looked super grumpy on the 3D U/S....hopefully my baby will have smiles when he/she comes out! Congrats @BettyRu!
Just finished stocking the freezer with meals and starters! Ok baby, come out and play with us
-Lemon Basil chicken for the grill. -Smokey lime chicken for the grill. -Zesty Chicken for the grill. -2 meals worth of taco meat. -Roasted Sweet potatoes and black beans for breakfast hash and quesadillas. - Hamburger pattys for the grill. -Meatloaf -3 loaves of lemon zucchini bread. -2 sausage, cheddar, and kale quiche.
@jodi1980 you always look so great in your HDBD pics! Makes me jealous that you are still getting dressed and made up and it's hard for me to change pjs everyday!
Ok so about 2 weeks ago I received a package addressed to me from a China address, it was a man's t shirt. I thought it was weird that I got it but assumed it was an accident and forgot about it. Now yesterday I get another package also from a China address and this time it's a dress. I order random stuff from Amazon that comes from China sometimes so I scoured through amazon to see if it had been ordered accidentally and nothing. I looked through my credit report and bank and credit card statements to be sure my stuff hadn't been hacked and everything was normal. So I'm kinda weirded out now! I've asked a bunch of friends and family and no one has ever had this happen to them.
What's arriving next? A sawed off finger? Lol I watch too many scary movies!
@jwittwer I was thinking about doing it then realised I could probably copy and paste from last week. I'm still pregnant, I'm fat and sore and my doctor is useless.
I keep crying randomly because my baby is getting bigger and she's only 11 days old. I want her to grow up but I also don't want her to grow up at all!
@setosh thanks!! I know, I am still in shock this all happened today to be honest. Whirlwind. Hope you and all my Tuesday Ticker buds are soon to follow!
Thanks for all the congrats and congrats to all the new mommies! I've been lurking but not posting lately as we grow accustomed to our new little one. Things are well tho! I just slept the longest I have in months while they took Lukas to the nursery and such for a while, which was amazing! I'm ready to get out of the hospital though. We are in an overflow room and are quite cramped. Hope everyone is doing well!
My doc just called to let me know she isn't sure if my due date is correct. She thinks it might be off by a week. It's something I have been asking her since I switched over around 4 months because my first dr was an idiot. I don't know what it means so late in the game though.
At my appointment on Tuesday, the midwife told me baby was posterior which is making my cervix be so far towards that back that it was difficult to tell how dilated I was, and she couldn't do a sweep. With my first son, I went to the doc on 39 +4, had a sweep, and promptly went into labor that afternoon. This whole pregnancy, people have told me that second babies follow suit, or come a little sooner. So, I really thought he would be out by now. I'm only 39+3 today, but my head is full of all of these thoughts like, "What if the only reason I went into labor was because of the sweep? What if he's posterior, and so labor doesn't ever start?" I'm acting like a lunatic and it's not even my due date yet. On a positive note, I've been losing lots of pieces of my mucus plug and having plenty of strong Braxton hicks contractions...sigh... I hope I don't have to join the overdue club. Don't know how you all have done it.
I had a membrane sweep Monday and still nothing. I've had a lot of brown spotting and two times I thought it might be the real thing, but nope. We asked for boxes and left dinner early last night because I couldn't deal with the contractions while sitting in a restaurant, got home and showered, and they stopped. Ugh. They will induce me next Friday, but I really just want the baby out naturally, and NOW!!
Thank god I'm home. My 5 yo is acting a little off since we got here. I think he's a little weary of the baby. Trying to show him extra love so he doesn't feel left out. My 5yo is definitely a mommys boy and I've been worried about his reaction to Lukas for a while
Super hard to catch up but a big congratulations to all the new babies out there!! I also just realized I had my guy on my ticker change day. Tuesday's shall forever be the best day ever!
I've fiddled around with the search but decided I'd just come here and ask since I didn't find anything completely relevant.
STM's - how many of you are attempting/have attempted a VBAC? I just wanted to see who else in our BMB is going through with it. I've seen several going for RCS, but didn't remember seeing anything VBAC related.
My office closed next week for the RNC. Now I don't have to make up excuses for not coming into the office. I'll still be "working" from home M-W as long as baby doesn't decide to come before that... induction is set for Thursday evening.
@megstervt I just read an article where a lady was pregnant for a year and 10 days... but that was in 1945. I still don't know if I believe it.
Well at least I know I'll be induced at 42 weeks (my doctors policy). But 3 weeks and 3 more days might as well be eons. I feel like I'm closer to when dinosaurs lived then when LO will be born.
I met a friend of friend recently who was pregnant until 43 weeks when she went into labor naturally. At the time, I thought "oh wow thats awesome that you were able to do that." Now I just keep thinking "how could you have that much patience??" That was only an additional week, I cannot imagine a full year.....
Super hard to catch up but a big congratulations to all the new babies out there!! I also just realized I had my guy on my ticker change day. Tuesday's shall forever be the best day ever!
Yay!! So happy foryou @Weville! Wishing I had had her on Tues too!! That day will always be the coolest. I am sure that ticker thread will have a few more crashers before it's through too
I just remembered I'm supposed to be going to a "mandatory" curriculum training for the next 2 weeks. Um...yall gon have to skype me because...the way my body is set up right now...
@KASG umm, I would really hope that they wouldn't expect a full term lady to attend these mandatory meetings, esp. If it's out of town! I was already working from home when I was 2 weeks from my due date, 'just in case'!
I had a couple of ideas for threads if anyone is interested:
1) Keep the ticker changes even after everyone has had there babies. We could either post on the original day we were supposed to (might get confusing) or the day you had the baby. Instead of updates about pregnancy, we could do questions about how we are feeling, baby is doing, milestones, etc.
2) A thread for post pregnancy GTKY survey. I am sure July has the most lurkers right now because it is our birth month and it might help someone out. This would include questions about all three trimesters to answer as well as a few on your labor, delivery, PP. Nothing too heavy or long. One thing I've learned about myself this pregnancy is that I find pregnancy in general fascinating - it is so different for all women! Example questions: - Are you a FTM or STM +? - How far along were you when you delivered? -How big was baby? - Did you have a c-section or vaginal birth? - What is one piece of advice you would give your first trimester self? - What is one piece of advice you would give your second trimester self? - What is one piece of advice you would give your third trimester self?
I went ahead and posted a survey, figuring if people want to fill it out they will... if not, it will get bumped down the board! If there are any questions people want me to add please let me know. Also, if there are any questions most of the group feels are not appropriate/doesn't want I will delete them.
HELP! I had no idea there was a DTaP vaccination. DH went today to get his TDaP shot (booster) but was given the DTaP (vaccine). I know DTaP is an inactivated virus but I can't find anything about if it works just as well to protect against as the TDaP or if it may actually be detrimental to the LO once she's here. Anyone with experience or know if it's ok?

The DTaP is the first shot you should get as a baby and the TDaP is the booster. It should work fine. Really what you need for protection of the baby is the pertussis part which both vaccines have. I'm not an expert, but I've worked as a pharmacy tech for 4 years. I would still ask your OB.
