I think I'm starting to get the baby blues. I feel ignored And unappreciated. DS is sick and has been clinging to H all day. H is acting like he's been the only one taking care of him all day. I wish I could leave them alone together for 24 hours and see how he feels after that. He's been loving on DS all day but I've changed 4 poopy diapers made 3 meals and I went grocery shopping during nap time. But I guess I've been no help all day. Now he keeps muttering about how he just knows he's gonna be sick now. I just want to run away for a day.
@seitzy3 so happy to hear help is on the way! Hopefully the cramping goes away and you can relax a bit!
@lovelylauren86 what is up with our toddlers getting sick in July?! Mine has the worst runny nose and fever going on and doesn't want to sleep. Today I felt so exhausted and NEEDED to nap when he did, but he took a whopping 30m rest. DH was gone all day for work and didn't get home until 530 and by that time, the hope for a nap had completely diminished. Hang in there!!
@lovelylauren86 I feel you mama! Being a mom is non-stop and often my husband doesn't realize all I do until something is not done. I'm secretly waiting until my husband takes my girls on vacation alone with his family. I hope he gets a taste of everything I deal with day in and day out.
My random...can I just tell you our recliner is becoming my favorite spot in the house? I usually hate this chair...I feel like only my husband and dad ever sit in it. It's amazing. I love being able to fully stretch out. While I love my couch, it's very deep and getting up from a laying position is becoming a bit of a struggle.
@VeraMali she sounds absolutely awful. Poor little girl and the cake. I can't even imagine - no one, baby to adult, should have their face forcibly smashed into a cake unsuspectingly. How old is this momma??
So since I'm taking over teaching outbid thing classes at work, I had to observe how the other lady does it. Dear God, I shit you not, the woman said, "kegel tight at every light!" It was the worst birthing class I've ever seen and I was embarrassed that a) this is what our hospital offers and b) that I looked like I was learning anything from this woman. Just when u thought she was going to cover a topic that was actually useful she would say "blah blah blah, you guys can read all about that." Um, no, they're here for you to teach them!
Okay, shooting the wedding wasn't that bad! I'm actually excited to edit the photos.
Side note, my SIL is a diamond in the rough and came from a pretty WT family. Her SIL (not me Bahahaha) is so trashy. So, so trashy. They have a 1 year old daughter that walks pretty well, and she just lets her go over to the little slide/fort thing with the other kids and then goes off to eat. The slide isn't big but is probably 3 feet tall, and that's huge to a 1 year old, and has a little plastic fort attached to it. the other kids are ranging from 3.5 to 5 years old. So the baby falls off the top of the slide and is screaming crying, my heart is broken and mama instinct wants to cuddle her up so bad. This other girl picked her up and cuddled her, and then her mom said, "oh, did you fall? You're okay." And doesn't even take her from the girl. I felt so bad for that baby.
@MrsVoorhees glad it wasn't as bad as you thought... Poor baby! I would have wanted to snuggle too!
I have a random that is SO RANDOM. I am cleaning my kitchen, and was breaking down the boxes to tie together and somehow I managed to pinch my nip in between two boxes (I'm bra-less). Anyways it hurts like a mofo, but I can't help but laugh at the ridiculousness of it
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
Thanks ladies. I think we finally broke the fever @RedMar we have a slight runny nose but other than that just a cranky boy. H is going to lunch and a movie with his little sister today so hopefully DS will take a good nap for me. We got up at 4am when the Tylenol wore off.
Is anyone else feeling this primal pregnant woman attraction and appreciation for their SO? I mean yes, I have always loved my DH but now I have this newfound love and respect for him that came out of nowhere and is unprecepitated. He hasn't started washing dishes or anything so should I attribute it to hormones? Lol

@Megan324 - I'm glad to hear you're ok. My heart stopped for a second when I saw those numbers. I've never gone lower than mid-40's and that was horrible.
I'm having the opposite problem. Mine have been sky high the past few days. Hopefully we can both get our bodies to cooperate!
Woohoo I can bump from my computer again! Thank god!
The wedding was actually awesome- my family was on point. They said nothing but really nice things and were just so excited, it felt really wonderful. I hope you all get to experience that at some point in your pregnancy- being surrounded by friends and family, being told you look beautiful and radiant and how wonderful you look. Plus the fooooood Plenty of belly grabbing and rubbing, but I didn't mind because it's all close family. The extra odd thing was my drunk aunts poking my boobs and remarking how huge they are. I mean, yes, they are, and they were before this anyway- and it didn't really bother me per se, it just caught me off guard lol.
@Megan324 the phantom pooper- that's super creepy!!! I agree with the ladies- file a report, and I loved the idea to put a note that it's not an outhouse on your door. So glad you are ok!
@frogdog06 somehow Chrome worked out whatever issue it was having so I'm back normally again. I think the same thing too- I feel this kid moving around and sometimes I can feel him right there up against my belly- sometimes it's a long and hard part, so probably a limb (arm/leg), then other times it's like a big lump so I'm wondering if it's his back or side. Sometimes, rarely, I can make out the little foot- that's my favorite I'm always a little afraid he'll have his butt squished up against my belly and that I'll accidentally poke his little junk lol. Probably totally ridiculous, but I can't help but think it haha!
@RG1 So exciting when people buy big items off the registry! I'm right there with you! We only had a few expensive things on ours, including the Graco 4 in 1 forever seat and a travel system (all-terrain jogger stroller with an infant seat and base), and both have been purchased which is amazing to me! I never expected people would actually buy them I guess- hell I felt slightly guilty even registering for them but it does feel so wonderful Glad to see you're getting some goodies too!
@seitzy3 so glad you have you're mom to help. Nothing makes you feel better than having your mom when you don't feel good. I still go to mine when I don't feel well
@VeraMali ugh- she sounds heinous! I was at my goddaughter's one year birthday party a couple of weeks ago, and her mother (my cousin/BFF who I adore) got so freaking drunk, I was embarrassed for her. She was really loud and obvious about it too, kept announcing to the party that she was drunk, it was kind of trashy honestly. Don't get me wrong, I get having a drink or two, and I'm all for having fun and blowing off steam (and she's been through a lot the last month), but at your baby's birthday party? Just struck me as a tad inappropriate.
@lovelylauren86 men are so dumb. They really don't have any clue what it's like to be prego, how hard it is, and they definitely don't get what it's like to be the mom and have to take care of it all while being prego. Hang tough girl You're doing an amazing job!
@UnwritteN12 thank you. It was definitely scary!! I was shaking harder than I ever have before. I had to call FI and have him drive me because I was too nervous that I would pass out behind the wheel!
@SarahDarah333 My H was not into sex once I was 6 months along I think we dtd maybe 3 times after that point. It’s a shitty feeling when you’re already feeling fat and unattractive, but it does get better! He seems more into it this time - maybe because the last one didn’t come out with brain damage, so he’s not as worried?
@seitzy3 I’m so sorry your H will be gone so much toward the end. That would upset me too. Is there any chance his schedule will change? I’m glad your mom is there now. I hope that baby settles down for you!
@jhems776 We moved house two years ago when I was 6 months pregnant, so I feel for you! It’s no joke, unpacking all those boxes and putting things away. We had to do a lot of painting too, but it wasn’t too bad. Congrats on being almost done! And yay for new furniture!
@AnnaS930 Your mIL sounds like my H’s MIL (his first wife’s mother). She wanted to turn my SD into a clone of her daughter. SO ANNOYING!
@LakeR2014 I think you’re right about closeness with daughters and sons, and it makes me sad…I have two daughters, but my LO is a boy, and this baby is a boy, and I hate to think about their future wives keeping me out of the loop. I’m just planning to not be a crazy bitch MIL and hope things are good.
@abberson I always camp with an air mattress - even when not pregnant! I also do the TP plus a garbage bag. I can’t be bothered to walk to the restroom multiple times a night!
@ahackett1990 I have a degree in psychology, but I can’t tell you what the crazy lady is up to. Is she kind of dumb? Maybe she just got the date wrong. Or maybe she wants to single white female your ass. Bizarre.
@erinmarie86 We don’t have a name for sure yet either. Just a list. We had our top three list with our last baby and decided the day after he was born.
@Thscary I’ve had 2 kids and I still don’t know if I’ve ever had Braxton Hicks.
@Themaritimemama My 19 month old had HFM (second time) right now too. Sooo cranky.
@Megan324 OMG. They CRAPPED IN YOUR HOUSE?! That’s insane!
@LizC216 I’m the same - third pregnancy and no clue which part is which!
@VeraMali your SIL sounds like an idiot. Her poor kid.
I know I only post sporadically...life is busy with two teenagers and a toddler! I just spent over two hours reading 400+ posts. Phew! Marathon bump session.
@mom2adoodle I'm totally with you on the intense hormonal love for my DH. Which is funny because when I was pregnant with DD, it was the opposite. I wanted nothing to do with him even though I knew it wasn't his fault. I felt so guilty so I'll take this strange attachment over that any day!
@pizzaandwine ugh it's brutal. I don't even know why they call it hand foot and mouth; she's got it in all those places and ALL OVER her body too. she's had it before too... It's rough.
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
@Themaritimemama I know! My son gets a few blisters on his feet, and almost none on his hands or mouth, but on his legs, arms and bum. I think he has them IN his mouth this time though, because he's acting like it hurts.
Every little thing is making me cry this weekend, which is so out of character for me, even when pregnant!
We were supposed to have a fun family weekend - bounce house party at the neighbors' Fri and then camping with my family. But DD got sick so we had to skip it all. I was weirdly, painfully empathy for DD even though she really wasn't terribly sick. Then, my heart broke when she saw the bounce house next door but couldn't go. We both cried about it. She doesn't even know she's currently missing camping with her cousins and yet I have serious FOMO on her behalf. Our weekends as a family of 3 are counting down quickly and I wanted to make the most of them...I'm just so sad we've now "lost" one of the few weekends we had left.
On top of it all, we went to Target today and she fell off the fitting room bench. She was sitting so nice but went to hop off when we were done - her bare legs caught on the bench but the forward momentum sent her face-first into the floor. Bloody nose, bloody lip, and a lot of crying. I felt so insanely bad for her, like it HURT, I felt so bad. As soon as she was calm, I started crying myself! My poor DH didn't know what to do.
I just feel so silly for being so weepy! Especially when I'm so not usually like this!
@pizzaandwine I'm impressed with your post responding to everyone sometimes I'm really want to respond but either too lazy or I'm starting then something happens with my kids and I forget haha
unfortunately DHs schedule is set in stone and won't be changed. I wish it could be! I'm officially over stressing about it (I'm sure that will change once due date gets closer) but I'm just going to go with the flow.
Anyone else dealing with summer allergies? Surprisingly, the Claritin takes most of the edge off during the work week. However if I spend time outside (like at a bbq or graduation party which I attend almost every weekend) then the entire next day I am MISERABLE. I take Benedryl which helps but then I feel like a sleepy zombie. It sucks. I feel lucky that it usually only takes me out for the next day but it sucks that it really limits my weekend activities.
My mom reminded me today to not spend the day outside the day before my shower which is the 23rd. I better remember!!!
Married: 3/21/15 First time mom to a human but have been a puppy mamma for over 12 years
Does anyone else feel like the 4th just threw off your entire month? I've been forgetting things like paying bills on time bc I don't realize what day it actually is. I'm really struggling to keep track of everything this past week and idk if it was just the holiday or I'm dealing with preggo brain or what
@lovelylauren86 I am sorry to hear you are having a rough go this week with your sick DS, unappreciative H and also not feeling so well yourself with your low blood sugar and low iron. Add all of that on top of being pregnant and I would feel the blues too! Is there anything you can do that would just be for you so you can mentally treat yourself to feel better? I also wanted to share that I had the gastric sleeve in 2009 so I understand your struggles with trying to make sure you take in enough food. Managing all of your vitamins and nutrients intake is practically a part time job in itself! Sending positive thoughts your way and just want you to know I am here for you!

@blondie080300 summer allergies are sucking my will to live. Not really but they do suck. I get terrible red nose/ flaky skin with allergies, too, as if I am not sexy enough in this whale costume I seem to be wearing. Lol. Oh well.
Just caught up on 134 posts that I've missed since Friday afternoon. I swear this thread is moving much quicker on weekends than it used to!
@seitzy3 Glad to hear your mom is coming out to help you, and hope your baby girls stays put as long as possible.
@Megan324 So sorry to hear about your sugar crash! How scary! But glad to hear you and baby are doing well now.
@blondie080300 Glad to hear it went well with the midwives, and hope everything works out so that you can transfer practices. I'm sure committing 100% to med-free is scary, but knowing it isn't even an option may actually make it easier to work through the contractions.
@JennM205 Sorry to hear your DD has been sick and that you've been feeling more emotional. I haven't cried because of it, but I've been having a hard time with McKenna falling, which she's been doing it a lot this summer. I know it's totally normal, but I hate seeing all the bruised and scraped knees (and a rug burned nose on one occasion) she's been getting.
@Themaritimemama Sorry to hear about your children getting HFM. Such a horrible virus. I hope they have a quick recovery.
@frogdog06 DH is only on level 6 of Pokémon Go. He forgot to play it on our walk today, and didn't find anything when we took DD to the park Friday night. It's been big here, too! We've seen a lot of people walking and playing it in and near our neighborhood. And DH's cousin posted about how he and his sons were out catching Pokémon this weekend. Haha.
@JennM205 I just started crying halfway through your post, so can definitely sympathize! I cried when DD headbutted me last night trying to snuggle (she quietly said "sorry for bonking your nose, mama"). I cried today after I got H to take her upstairs before I lost patience with her because I was tired and she was rambunctious and crawling all over me. I cried because she's so big now. I cried because your reasons sound more legit! ETA: and I was so sad for your girl and for you!. Hope she's recovered from the tumble!
Thanks for the love, everybody. Luckily, DD was just fine after her tumble. It wasn't pretty but also wasn't serious. Once we got her calmed down, it was all ok. (Except that's when I finally lost it, haha.)
On a good note, the girls at Target were amazing. As soon as they realized what had happened, they gave us tissues, band-aids and stickers. One of the managers got an ice pack and gave DD a CareBear juice box from the pantry area. As if I didn't already love that store!!
We just had our four hour childbirth class proctored by a doula. She realllly empathized natural methods of birthing (including having sex during early labor...). I asked her about childbirth pain on a scale of 1 - 10, if it would be a 15...and she said no, it's totally bearable. However, I am wary as she appeared super granola - Caucasian with dreadlocks and forearm henna tattoos. Now I'm like fffff do I want the epidural or not?!

I'm sure the level of pain experienced is different for every woman and every labor. For me, the contractions were difficult but bearable. (If put them at a 9 or 10 though) If I'd had a short labor, it would have been fine. But I labored for 4 hours to get 2 cm dilated, and once I realized it was going to be like 10 more hours, I didn't have the endurance for level 9 or 10 pain for that long.
You don't have to decide right now. You can have a goal and be flexible.
