Re: GTKY;Interesting Facts

  • @texasmama2014 Kind of funny that you brought up ice cream. I stopped for a double dip of Rocky Road on my trip home yesterday and I was definitely judging the orders of everyone in front of me. Like peppermint in July?? That is just so weird to me.

  • My hubby is a sports freak - any sport out there he watches and plays - I will watch and cheer him on but the one sport I actually loooove is hockey. I do play tennis and golf but I guess I don't count those since they aren't team sports.

I hate ate anything fake peanut butter flavored - Reese's, butter butter, ice cream, etc

ive be never been to the east coast

I name my outfits each day - like for example I'll say - Today I'm going to be sporty glam or urban jungle or boho beach goddess

I met my husband at work. I started in my birthday and that makes my bday even more special. We've been married 5 years.

My my parents named me after Katharine Hepburn.

I could watch QVC for hours and not buy anything. If I wasn't in my current career, I would love to be one of those hosts. Missed my calling.

@AliKay20 Im the opposite. I've been addicted to cherry jolly ranchers this entire pregnancy!

@texasmama2014 I love black raspberry chip and pistachio
  • @jamiesc58  If the whole world of ice cream was in front of you, would you choose plain vanilla?
A psychotic guy I dated only ate plain vanilla. He was like super crazy, and rigid about everything.  He later met my sister and tried to date her too... Apparently he had a type.
If the whole world of ice cream was in front of me, I'd go strawberry in a waffle cone. But my second option would be vanilla. I'm not psychotic..... Honest....
  • DH and I were neighbors growing up, but didn't date until college. We actually started dating because he drove me home from a couple of parties since we lived right next to each other.

Loud chewing, or "smacking" as I call it, makes my skin crawl as well. DH's family is horrific, and it's hard for me a to carry a conversation during a meal because I'm so distracted by their chewing.

One of my favorite things to do is go to my favorite stores websites, and just put anything I like in my cart, but never buy it. I'll have tabs open to stores with hundreds of dollars worth of clothes, knowing I have no intention of buying them. It gives me some shopping satisfaction, but without the guilt. It does give DH anxiety though, because he never knows when I'm actually going to make one of these gigantic purchases  :)

  • @mamaksquared I knew it had an actual name!

  • I met DH when I was 16 and I thought he was the biggest jerk. I didn't like him at all. About a year later we became best friends (I guess we grew on one another). His girlfriends always hated me and I never understood why. Fast forward a few years and we finally kissed on the 4th of July when I was 20. Married at 24 and we just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on the 1st.

I can't stand heavy breathers! I acctually had to ask for a different seat in school because I sat near someone that was breathing so loud I couldn't concentrate.
  • I hate gum and I can't stand people that smack on it. I've actually put my hand out in front of my mother's mouth and told her to spit out her gum before I lost it! I despise it that much. Whistling too. It's like nails on a chalkboard to me. I twitch when I hear someone in public whisting. My hubby and kids know better than to do it around me.
  • I LOVE the ocean and snorkeling but am somewhat terrified of deep, open water :D  My birthday is 8/12 and baby is due 8/14!

@Stephanie7693 when I chew gum I don't chew on it really, I just periodically snap it, which is probably worse than loud chewing it. It drives my husband and mother up a wall, since they don't even know I had gum in my mouth and all of a sudden *SNAP* - they both jump a mile. Bad habit I never dropped from my pre-teen era. I know it's obnoxious too, but I do it without thinking.

  • @sparklypink17girl My birthday is within two weeks of my EDD too - even funnier, my cousin is due right around the same time, and her brother, my cousin, was born on my birthday (10 years later). Everyone has been joking we are both going to have our babies on that day, then the family will only have to remember one day. A "four-fer!"

@Bookhousegirl I totally do this too!!
  • Our anniversary is on 8/16 and my birthday is on 8/19. I'm due on the 17th. Part of the reason we got married on that weekend was to make it easy for DH to remember our anniversary. I guess we made it really easy for DH to remember most of our important dates.
  • @Stephanie7693 haha you would hate my husband! He goes through a pack of gum a day, and whistles constantly! The whistling annoys me, but he's a quiet gum chewer so I don't mind that so much.

  • I got pregnant when I was 18, had my son when I was 19 and by myself. Dated a guy for years who didn't want to leave his mother, so I left him. Started dating my now husband shortly after that and married him the following year. We got pregnant the next month! We will be married 10 months to the day the baby is due(8-18!) Hoping we can go on that day!

My favorite thing to wear is jeans and a t-shirt and preferably flip flops.

I dislike Summer. Always have. I don't like being hot. Fall and Spring are my favs and I can tolerate Ohio Winters more than Summer!
  • Thought of another - the day I had DS my cousin gave birth to her son.  This time around my cousin (on the other side)'s wife is due a few days before me.  So there's a chance that both my kids may share birthdays with second cousins.
  • @texasmama2014 if the whole world of ice cream was in front of me I would NOT pick vanilla.

  • @Mrsrundell I LOVE that you name your outfits.  This amuses me to no end.  If I had the wardrobe, I would adopt your approach.  I am currently "boring suburban pregnant lady" every day.

@Hannah0726 I'll almost always choose chocolate ice cream, except when pregnant.  Then it is strawberry cheesecake swirl or something fruity like that.

I have a phobia about wearing other people's clothes.  It makes me feel like crawling out of my skin.  It's not the hygiene factor though-- I think it just makes me incredibly self-conscious to wear clothes I didn't specifically pick out for myself.

I have trouble following the plot in movies where most of the characters are men in uniforms.  It takes me most of the movie to be able to distinguish between the characters.  I found "Saving Private Ryan" to be incredibly confusing because it was men in uniform AND in black and white.

  • @texasmama2014... in the world of ice cream, I choose butter pecan 9 times out of 10 :)

If the world of ice cream was in front of me I would panic. I have a hard enough time deciding which flavor I want at Tutti Frutti.
Same! If the whole world of ice cream was in front of me I would probably debate for 10-15 minutes on what to get and then end up not getting anything.
  • Ice cream was typically my go-to dessert pre-pregnancy but it just hasn't sounded as good to me the last few months. However my favorite is Blue Bell Butter Crunch (not to be confused with butter pecan).
    Pregnancy Ticker

  • Coffee ice cream, yum....  Due to GD, I haven't had real ice cream in awhile, but have tried the Halo Top Birthday Cake (lower carb ice cream), but not as good.
  • I feel the need to defend plain vanilla, since that's my go-to. With plain vanilla, you have options! You can add anything to it - fruit, nuts, candy, chocolate, caramel, Thin Mints... Yum! And honestly, any ice cream is better than no ice cream.

I've had a hard time coming up with interesting facts... This is all I've got.

#1: I turn 40 three weeks after my EDD. My mom had me four days after her 40th birthday. I always assumed I'd have until I was 40 to pop a kid out since she did. Last November, I realized that I realized that I would've been concieved in November as well and if it didn't happen that month, I'd officially be older than my mom if/when I had a baby. I got my BFP about a week later.

#2: Everytime I drive past a cow, I moo at it. Apparently my mooing sounds nothing like an actual cow, but whatever. They can't actually hear me from the car. I'd like to think my husband finds it an endearing quirk but I'm not so sure, lol
