I'm scared the Roomba will get stuck somewhere and battery dies, then we would never find it. Probably overthinking it... but we find all types of randomness when we move furniture at our house. Does it leave vacuum lines or just swirls on carpet?
Obsessed with our roomba! Named her Rosie. We set her off every night downstairs and she gets sooooo much dog hair and dirt every night that it's just amazing. Yes it leaves lines in the carpet, you can tell she's been there for sure. our pup freaked out at first and still runs away from it but we just send him upstairs for bed when she's running. Seriously though get one!!!
@LizC216 that's exactly how it always starts for me. One little task during nap time and an hour later I'm flipping furniture upside down
ive been nesting for a while now. It started with moving furniture out of the guest room to make room for nursery things and turned into total re-do of the entire house. I moved furniture in every room of the house, got new linens and throw pillows for both our bed and guest bed, got new rugs and couch pillows in the living room & kitchen, reapolstered my coffee table/ottoman, and today washed and hung up all of the newborn-6 month clothes and reorganized LOs closet. I can't stop, it's like I'm possessed
I am mentally nesting. Does that count? Because I am currently the size of a house, it takes me three times as long to accomplish a simple task as it normally would. Then I get frustrated and opt to do nothing. Oh, and by "mentally nesting," I mean making a list of chores for DH (-;
@SLou24 Your comments about nesting are so similar to how I am right now. I don't even know where to begin and just decide to do nothing!
So, I am trying to set small goals for myself at the moment like a) inventorying what I already have so I can finish my registry b) getting my crib delivered and assembled on July 7 c) starting to set up spare room/nursery in 2 weeks while my FI is away on a business trip.
I've booked myself some little rewards for when I accomplish my tasks for motivation like a facial, a pair of earrings I will buy if I actually set up the room while FI is out of town. Crossing my fingers that this works - I want to essentially be done by August!!

I like your idea of rewarding yourself for accomplishing your tasks! I feel so overwhelmed by my to do list It's like I cross off 2 things and add 5 more! If I treated myself to something, I might feel like I actually earned it
We've been remodeling our basement so we can get our house on the market but today I did manage to go through my toddlers closet and box up all the boy items, sort the neutral stuff, and wash all the liners for swings, bassinets, car seats, etc. And...then I took a nap. Today was a win my friends.
It's been bad lately- I see even a little dirt or dust and it makes me want to clean everything. Trying to get DH to mop, because that's one thing I just can't get into but we need to do. I alternate between vacuuming and using the Swiffer (the wet swiffer makes our floors so slippery so that's out). Dusting, dishes, folding laundry- and DH's clothes end up everywhere. He has piles of clothes in the living room, that are now in the front room. I keep asking what the deal is and he insists that I leave it alone, he will handle it. He's got a few more days before I lose patience and just wash and fold everything he has left out. And I want to rearrange everything in the apartment, like yesterday, so we can have it the way we want it for when the baby comes. So far I've gotten him to do a little in the living room, but it's still cluttered with furniture and making me crazy, and we did our room today to set up the crib. I wish I could afford to just hire someone to come in and figure out how all our stuff can fit with all the baby's stuff. And let me clean while they rearrange it all.
I have a Dyson pet and the stick Dyson for hard floors. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the stick vac. If you have hard floors it's definitely worth the time of scoping out a sale and investment!
@sarahdarah333 I don't know what type of floors you have, but I recently bought the shark steam mop and love it. The floor does not get soaking wet since it uses steam to clean. The floors are dry within a few minutes and it does a way better job than the swiffer. I hated that thing...even after doing a good sweep first it would drag around dirt and leave lines of dirt. Not with the shark! It's kind of pricey but I love it!!
I had a huge nesting burst this weekend. I had four days off and bought the dresser (we got a nice used one), did 4 loads of laundry, put but book shelves with DH and organized all the clothes into the drawers. Whew! It was good though, now I can look into cute décor.
I spent 2 hours Saturday cleaning out our bathroom cabinet and organizing the way we store towels... meanwhile I completely neglected the kitchen/living room and had that waiting for me Sunday (I try to leave Sunday as a day off from cleaning)
Not that I'm not happy it's done, but I look back a bit puzzled now as to why I felt towel organization was a detrimental thing to our home (I may have color coordinated them). DH looked at me as if I'm crazy and I can't say I blame him.....
DH has actually been nesting more than me -- he cleaned our bedroom balcony (which was filthy), organized LO's nursery, put together all her furniture, dropped off donated items, and went to town on our garage. It definitely makes my heart surge, and has me thinking that he will be a great dad.
Not that cleanliness is related to fathering, but he is SO ready.
Nesting - finally kicked in. I had no desire to prep really anything until this weekend. Went thru DD's clothes and washed it all. Ordered 100 hangers and those also pretty much all got used, clothes are sorted - socks are paired, accessories in boxes (went to 3 diff stores because none matched) and closet is ready.
My hospital bag is packed and stuff I want is listed for hubby. Oh and despite being yelled at I shampooed the carpets, idc, the furniture was all moved out so I took advantage of it and cleaned it, it needed it bad! DH just shook his head and kept saying "yes honey" and "quit moving heavy stuff!!!" lmao, he knows to back off when I get my nesting mode...
Just now to the big stuff of setting up cribs (our house and my moms) and fixing car seat. Hoping that gets done this weekend because the rest of July is showers and events. I'm trying very hard to keep august completely EMPTY. Last month and I won't wanna do jack!
@chavezrd2 oh my! That's a very busy weekend! Are you sore today?
I keep telling DH I'm going to clean our carpets (we have a carpet cleaner) since he always says he will but doesn't. I keep cleaning everything I see that's not perfect. I just cleaned our bathroom for the first time in months (DH has been doing it since I felt sick doing it at 12 weeks) because I couldn't take it anymore! Next: organize linen closet to fit all the diapers we got at our shower!
Yes I'm sore and already getting "I told you so" from DH. Wtv, I asked him too about doing it and he's been busy or just hasn't come up so I figured I'd just do it. Poor thing thought I was proving a point but I really just wanted to get it done. LOL! I think he was waiting for me yell at him or see if it was a trick :
I see random things at home that need to be redone and I'm doing it little by little. Feel bad because a lot of the stuff for my older daughter is getting moved to make room for baby... times are changing and its getting REAL YO.
I have been ITCHING to open up my travel system and install the carseat base and set up the stroller but FI is never around when I want to do it and I feel like we should do this together!
I know I'm not using the stroller for awhile so I have time but I want to make sure all the parts work and everything is in order in case we needed to return it!

We opened ours right when we got it a couple months ago because my parents bought it for us and drove it from IL to CO so they wanted us to take a picture with it all set up. I was SO excited. Since then, it sat in our garage collecting dust until we moved it into our home office (nursery isn't set up yet). However, it has been nice to have it set up and make sure it truly is what we wanted and I was able to make sure that the stroller fit into both of our trunks...
I guess I'm saying you should set it up if you have the space to store it for now
Finally got back to working on the rag quilt baby blankets. Since I'm still a novice sewer it takes me a while to finish one, but it's enjoyable and I love doing them! I've been wanting to finish up the baby blankets so I can concentrate on learning how to crochet a baby hat. My crochet skills are also lacking, so that should be an adventure.
DS woke up at 1:30am and after getting him back to sleep I just had to clean the living room and kitchen. I quit at about 3am. Middle of the night cleaning/nesting is a terrible idea when you have to be at work in the morning. YAWN! What on earth was I thinking?!

@chavezrd2 Haha, ok! Pictures of my foray into baby craft! ^ This is the one I finished yesterday. The more times you wash and dry the blanket, the fluffier it looks, I've only sent this one through wash/dry once.
^ The baby size I make is 5x6 squares Here's the non-rag side.
^ Here's one I made with a different pattern. Very straight forward alternating. ^ My mom made this one - Just to give you an idea of how many different fabric patterns you can use, it's all up to your tastes! Every square can be different if you like. In this one, my mom used the same nursery rhyme fabric we have as curtains in the nursery to tie in the crib comforter.
@jas1982 Isn't that Hobbes adorable?! The crocheter is on Etsy. He's from Moldova so it takes a while to ship and receive but he is AWESOME and it's worth the wait! Nursery safe except for the red scarf that comes with it, we just took that off and put it away.

I made DH put ours together two weeks ago and I installed the car seat base in my car too. A little ahead of myself, but I needed to have it done. I'm also glad we did it because after seeing how huge the jogger is, there's no way I'm getting away without buying a lightweight stroller too
Today, my nesting consisted of painting the front door, sorting through my bras and panties, cleaning out and organizing my spices, and ordering prints of all my phone pics from Shutterfly. These things will make baby #4 easier, right? Lol!

My nesting today consisted of shoving all our actual dirty laundry in to the closet and then digging out the baby fabric I bought a while back and washing all of that instead!

It's a good idea. I waited to put together the high chair and there was a slight defect. Had I known right away I would have exchanged it but since I waited and it was minor I just dealt with it.
All of our orders have arrived so we got going on redecorating and reorganizing. New bed and bedding, nightstands, and ottoman. We moved the old ottoman and nightstands in the closet for extra storage. DS seems to love the new setup.

I want a roomba. I hate vacuuming (luckily, DH doesn't mind it, so he usually does it).
