  • "I slept really well. How about you?"

After twin B woke up after 1.5 hours and wouldn't fall back asleep unless she was on me. So I slept with one eye open.

This is our first, so I'm sure many lifestyle adjustments will be made-usually pre-pregnancy if DH had a sporting event to attend that I wasn't interested in- I'd be thrilled to have a girls night. DH started telling me the other day that if the Penguins (his home town hockey team) make it to the next round against the Islanders that he'd -when close to Brooklyn- stop at this hole in the wall burger place that fries a burger in pita dough for me on his way home (not even remotely my thing). So I say to him "oh, when is that taking place?". His response was "in a couple of weeks". Okay, cupcake, we have a scheduled c-section for 5/25/16 and I'll be 39 weeks pregnant at that point and could go at anytime. You mean you are leaving me somewhere between when I am 38 weeks pregnant or when our child is perhaps just sent home with us? Do I really need to explain to you that you aren't leaving me during that time period to go watch a hockey game?

Of course he instantly back tracked on it, he hadn't thought of the timing at all. But still. I saw red for a moment.
We are big pens fans too, and living in Brooklyn. Dh did the same thing as yours. Said lets get tickets to the islanders series if it gets there. Ummmmmm at that point I was extremely pregnant and we were scheduled for an induction 5/13. I told him yeah, let's take a one week old baby to the game. Smh, men....

and side note but Yeah Pens!!!

After coming home on a day where both my grandmother and mother left early because the screaming wouldn't stop. I'm in Wonder Week hell.

"Witching hour hasn't been so bad"

yeah sure, for you, who conviently goes and runs errands for half of the duration of witching hour or comes home late from work. Ok.

    "She's hungry isn't she?"
Repeated every single time LO cries for more than a minute, regardless whether she just ate.
YUP!! It'll have been 45 minutes since LO ate but if he doesn't stop crying after five minutes my husband is convinced he's hungry. Good thing he's breastfed so DH can't feed him (unless there's a bottle and thawed milk).
OH, that or when he's not crying and just sitting awake DH will shove a pacifier in his mouth. That's only for when he is upset! I guess he's trying to be proactive and avoid crying? It annoys me.

Yep. I had to explain to DH that he needs to try other methods of soothing besides shoving a bottle in DS mouth. DH looked at me like I was an alien.

DH asked if I could make him lunch. I said sure as long as he holds the baby while I'm in the kitchen.

    less than five minutes later-

    him: help!
me (running into living room): what's wrong?
    him: she pooped!
    me: and..? Just change her!
    him: I can't!
    me: why not?
    him: because I'm watching this!

there was a soccer game on tv and he didn't want to have to look away for one second while changing her diaper.

  • My favorite is that since Ezra's a comfort nursery when DH says "must be hungry" after a minute of crying and I pop him on the boob and he's sucking away DH gets this satisfied grin like "told you".

DH insisted he put LO down for the night, really because he'd lost his patience with our 3YO. So we switched duties. LO only stayed asleep for an hour when normally his first sleep stretch is 4ish hours. So he just woke up at 9:30 and DH is basically like "welp, your turn."

Not fair man! I feel like DH should have to redo his shift. Lol So now he's in there trying to get him back down but I sense this will be another fail. Sigh.

DS2 had his 2mo checkup this morning so I sent DH a quick text of his stats since he's at work. I sent: "Healthy and 24.5" 12lbs13oz" DH obviously forgot about the appointment because he replied "What is this? The state and size of your breasts?" Sure.

    Lol!!!

    Sounds pretty accurate!

My husband had the nerve to complain about changing diapers MAYBE twice a night (I BF then wake him up to change diapers). Ooooh so sorry those possibly 2 diaper changes made you lose those 10 minutes of sleep...

    I said "dude, I haven't slept past 4 hours at a time since May 5th 2016."

Even when I got past 5 hours a few times, my boobs paid a price so, there's that.
    This. Amen.
  • @kitkat8713 Yes that's crazy! My goal is to let my husband get as much sleep as possible at night so he can get up early and help in the morning so I can sleep then!

Haha that sounds like my husband. My boobs are huge so that sounds believable!
  • MH spent most of the day doing housework, like fixing our gutters, changing the lock on our basement door, etc. This is great, because there is a lot that needs to be done and he's done nothing for two months. But it did mean I was on my own with Isla all day. He said he'd just take a shower and then he'd take her for me so I could make dinner. He spent an HOUR just sitting in the bathroom playing on his phone. When he was finished, he took Isla and I made dinner, then showered real quick k while it was in the oven (20 minutes). Then he told me to eat while he held her. I rushed through my food in about 2 minutes and get up to take her back so he could eat, but first took a sip of my drink. He looked at me and gave me the most frustrated "Aren't you finished yet?!" look. So sorry you had to hold the baby for 45 minutes while your dinner was being made! I shot back at him that at least I didn't spend an hour locked in the bathroom playing on my phone.
