Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, all. They're having me admitted for monitoring. If my blood pressure doesn't go down in 48 hours, they will induce. We may have babies this weekend.

So I know some of you guys are clothe diapering and what not and have been given diapers by friends and family. Just a FYI, you can donate them. Between women's shelters and the National Diaper Bank, there are lots of options.

I work at the hospital I'm delivering at so unfortunately I know way too much about what goes on there. L&D is over capacity at 108% right now. The hospital had to rent cribs. Somehow I think it's better to not know this. I was hoping for a private room in maternity but now that's seeming unlikely....

@sboston06 The crazy thing about L/D and Mother/baby is that 24 hours can change the census completely. When I had my first, I was induced. They were slammed, so I had to wait for hours for a room. I then had to wait for a M/B room. The whole MB unit was full on day one. By the end of the next day, half were discharged. The 2nd day, there was only 4 patents on the floor with me.
@LadyFleck I went way overdue last pregnancy. All the people checking in on me and asking why I'm out of the house drove me nuts. I did my best to politely reply that a due date is just an estimate and that I may be pregnant for a while longer. Most got the hint to lay off. I did have in my head already that I had a good chance of going overdue and I was very fit and comfortable still (unlike this time!), so if it wasn't for all the questions/comments/phone calls, it wouldn't have bothered me though. Good luck!
I consider myself a rational person overall but I obsess over the weirdest things while pregnant. Currently, it's about my nails. I'm trying to plan a spa day before my due date and I really want acrylics (I like them shorter), but I haven't had them in forever and I'm afraid they would annoy me with a newborn... so I'm considering shellac for the time being. But I don't really want shellac and it's stressing me out. My rational side is going: I'm really annoying myself.
Some lady just knocked on my door asking if I had seen some dogs in our complex. Um... It's 11 at night and you just freaked me and my dog out... NO I DON'T KNOW WHERE YOUR DOGS ARE!! My SO just started working overnights and now I'm paranoid she is making up some story to see who's home and who's not. There goes my good 4 hours of sleep I would of gotten.
Inductions take forever. Cervical checks are horrible. Please hurry up baby! 20 hours in and still only a 3. But fully effaced so guess that's something. Bleh.

It's babies day ladies! My labs didn't come back great so the doctor came in to discuss induction. Turns out in 4 cm and most likely in active labor. Bloody show and all. Hopefully I will have some tiny babies to show off here soon!
@winnie1122 hang in there! My induction took forever too- I stayed at 1cm for about 18 hours and 2cm for maybe 10 before really making any progress, then when I did, it was fast and furious. Being patient was the hardest part, besides those cervical checks! @shanparadise good luck today!
Just like all the rest of you, I'm so happy it's July! Also, I bought some milk yesterday and the expiration date was AFTER my due date. Yeah, It's the little things...
Any time I do anything, I think "this could be the last time I do this as a pregnant lady". Even stupid things like going to the bank, grocery store.... Sometimes I roll my eyes at myself for being so ridiculous. I have no idea how I'll feel PP so I have stocked up on groceries, stamps, quarters for laundry!

36+2 cervical check and 1 cm/60% I had my dd at 41w with absolutely no progress till the day before she was born so I am hoping this is a sign that I actually might get out of this before I lose my mind?!
36 week check up and nothing really going on down there. She said I was thinning some but that's it. I was hoping for a little more since Ive had a ton of pressure. DH told me to go get a pedicure to help get over the disappointment.
Just had a fantastic 36w OB appointment. We presented our Dr the birth plan. You could tell she thought it was a bit diva-ish at first but she patiently sat down with us, read it line by line, and gave her respectful feedback on every item on what we should expect and how to reword some things so that the hospital staff may better receive it. She spent a ton of time with us explaining things and her schedule was packed, so we're very grateful.
