UO Thursday

Re: UO Thursday

  • I think too many drs put our bodies and babies on a schedule. Estimated due date is just that-estimated. I don't want to be having a conversation about inducing at my 38 week appointment.
Ugh this! I had an appointment today, 38w2d and my OB scheduled an induction for me! We were not tracking ovulation or anything like that, and my LMP is a guess, so my due date is DEFINITELY an estimate. The thought of having to be induced is stressing me out and then her giving me a date is making it even worse.. I'm so annoyed by the whole thing :/

I'm so thankful for my doctor for this reason. She is 100% supportive of the birth I envision. The practice as a whole will have you schedule an induction after you hit 41 weeks. But she knows that's not at all what I want. As long as everything looks good, She's already mentioned that if it were to happen (hitting 41 weeks), that if I just "miss" the induction appointment, all they'll do is have me reschedule. I.e.: buy more time for labor to happen on its own.
  • @LDSJM123 yea that's awesome and honestly, that's probably what I'm going to do.. Just conveniently miss the appointment.
Granted, my appointment she made isn't until 15 days after my due date (but my mom went 16 days over so I'm keeping that in mind as a possibility for myself). My OB is really cool and totally on board with everything I want to do, so I kinda think she scheduled it just because it's procedure/the norm. Either way, I sure hope I don't go over by 15 days!

Oh that's badass that's it not until 15 days after! I'm going to bet that baby comes out on their own by then.

    UO numero dos-

If you park like a jackass, you should expect that whomever parks next to you is going to hit your vehicle with their door. If it's me, I'm secretly hoping I leave a nice mark, especially if it's on the side where I put DD into her carseat because I need all the space to get her buckled in and maneuver around my big belly. If you're on or over that line, you must have known that it was coming
I think this happened this morning. I was walking about of the bank and the lady coming in the door asked me what I drove because someone hit a car and drove off. The car they hit was all crooked and basically taking up two spaces. Still wrong, but there wasn't any damage so oh well.
  • @erin7264 @HMcDade1 od news for one and bad for the other...I felt phantom kicks for months after DD was born.

@rakel88 Probably should have something on the calendar because it's not safe to let baby stay in there too long, although I'm surprised that they scheduled it so far out. A lot of doctors want to induce by 41 weeks, but it seems the research says it's generally not any worse to wait until 42 weeks with a normal, healthy pregnancy. My OB practice told me they only let you go to 41 last time, and I basically said, well I'm not coming in for an induction then, so what would you like to do about it? Got induced 11 days late because my doctors and I were both not willing to pass 14 days, I really disliked the doctor available on Monday, so went with the Friday before. Hopefully with 15 days, yours will come on its own!
