I'm a production manager at a publishing company. I'm grateful that I have great work-life balance at this job, especially since I work full-time.
  • I'm a second grade teacher.

  • I taught yoga/barre/TRX and other various classes but I rarely teach now- I transitioned to fulltime personal caregiving for a gentleman with advanced Parkinsons, my daddio
  • @yogadevil my Dad has Parkinson's too!! Since 2003.  He doesn't need a full time caregiver yet but I can see it on the horizon.
    Me: 1979 * Husband: 1976 * Little girl: 2010 * Little guy: 2013 * MMC: 2016 * Last baby: EDD 2/11/17!

I feel bad clicking the "love it" button on your post because I wouldn't wish Parkinsons on anyone, but I love that your dad is doing so well! My dad was diagnosed with early onset and it's only been in the past 4 years or so that some things have really been a struggle. We've found a good routine though, just wish we could hit the pause button on it all and enjoy things without him feeling like he's trapped in his own body.
  • @yogadevil I am so impressed that you are your dad's caregiver.  What a huge gift to him.  I am not sure I could do that even if it was financially an option (which it is not) - I hope that I would make the same choice you did but I am not sure I could be as brave.

We have been very lucky that his (also early onset in his late 50s) Parksinsons has been slow to progress.  He is still able to crawl on the floor and play trains with my 3 year old son.  Other daily activities have become more of a chore but he is still able to do most things himself.  Cognitively it is staring to really affect him, though.  My dad has an MBA from Harvard but now has trouble calculating 20% on a check.  It all just sucks, doesn't it???  Feel free to PM me anytime!!

I work in Marketing in the insurance industry. My husband is a SAHD. We plan on pursuing our dream of opening a small restaurant after this baby comes!

Do it!  My husband recently opened his own restaurant a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier!
  • I'm an accounting manager for a relocation company.  I'm really hoping to go to work for my husband full time after baby #2 is born.
  • Registered Nurse, pediatric ICU
  • I currently am a claims rep. I collect money for vocal artist when their songs are used in new mediums. But, I'm quitting my job in August to do LuLaRoe full time. I now make more doing that than I do at my current job so the time is right.
  • Work is super slow and I'm bored.

Currently, I work for a mortgage company as a Processor but I'm thinking of branching out as a Real Estate Agent.  I'd love to be on the other side of the mortgage industry and work more directly with people.
I'm in the same industry! I just switched areas, I ised to be an assistant to several mortgage loan officers. Now I review mortgage appraisals for our mortgage division. We are stupid busy right now, and there's never a dull moment in this industry, I don't think anyways.

We have two sleeping beauties in heaven.

Um, I would love to just review appraisals.  I have to review appraisals, title reports, etc. on each of my loans.

We could work from home but our boss prefers to have everyone in the office.  Something about 'team building' or some crap like that.

We only get to work from home if we are sick or have a sick kid. We have a pipeline of 1700 loans on our processing books. I think our processors would go crazy if they had to do appraisals too.

Lol I love how so many jobs sound very serious. I would have to Google job descriptions for half of them. It took me a couple months to get down how to describe my husbands employment and it's so simple. My parents never use "technical" terms or very many proper terms so it's been challenging as an adult to stretch my own vocabulary from what I grew up with.

  • I'm a nurse practitioner.
  • I'm a surgery resident
  • I am a speech therapist at special education school. I work summer school too, but I am off this week between end of the year and summer school -thank goodness - I have a cold and I had my first experience with throwing up from MS today. I was so glad I could hang on the couch today without guilt!
