  • I do back-office work for a martial arts dojo.

  • University professor!  I've been on sabbatical for the last year.
  • I run our regional marketing team for the US. Not sure how the travel demands of my job will work with baby 2.

  • ER Nurse
My H is an ER nurse.
I could never do your job, mad props.
  • I can't imagine doing anything else. I'm sure you DH feels the same way, emergency Nursing gives you a level of autonomy and critical thinking that you don't get anywhere else in nursing.
  • I'm a high school chemistry teacher. Timing for summer vacation isn't as good as it was with my DD though!

  • Work is super slow and I'm bored.

Currently, I work for a mortgage company as a Processor but I'm thinking of branching out as a Real Estate Agent.  I'd love to be on the other side of the mortgage industry and work more directly with people.
Best decision DH and I made was to get licensed! We went through the licensing courses a few years ago, but have been more serious about it over the last year to year and a half.  It's not exactly cheap, but it is relatively inexpensive considering other "self-employment" options one might choose.  Also, my husband and I haven't made the leap into this being our only means of income, but for right now, it's an awesome (but challenging) "second job"!
This is so encouraging to hear!  There is an agency down the block from our house so I popped in over the weekend and they explained that I'd have to go to school and then pass the licensing test and then the state test.

So right now, it's about finding a) money for the course and b) time to do it.  I may try to find one that offers an online option but truthfully, I learn better when I'm in the environment so I might try to arrange some time during the week after work or maybe a few hours on the weekend.

It's definitely not something I'd quit my full-time job for, 100% commission scares me!  But I think it could be a fun but challenging side gig that would let me get my "fix" for work outside of the office.

Now I'm super excited to get started!

  • I am a SAHM/ care giver

during the summer I watch a friends kids and help with my grandma.

during the school year I teach at a MDO 2 days a week.

  • Most def. I love what I do. The money is good even part time. I would surely say transition from RN to Np was more difficult than being a new nurse which was itself a challenge. I've been an NP for 5 years and feel like I'm finally hitting my stride. I still get the "so how long until you're a dr?"but mostly from oldies. Younger generation more informed of my role.
  • I work for a university on the development side of things. We are a very small office and the idea of taking mat leave is terrifying.
  • I'm a  home health nurse. I specialize in Psych patients.

I work in IT doing project management for software development and implementation. I love my job but have a bad work/life balance right now. I'm thinking about quitting to be a SAHM but that is terrifying. I'm just sick of feeling like a sucky mom and/or a sucky employee.

Eta - sorry for the debbie downer post. This is something that's on my mind a lot.
  • DH and I have an eBay business and work from home, but i also have a part time job at an amazing little locally owned shoe store. I've also worked as a cake decorator, and was an optician for 8 years, so I'm kind of all over the place.
