Who wants another one?

So, these past few nights (and daytime, sometimes) LO has been doing fantastic. Eating then going straight back to sleep. I even have to wake him up because my boobs were about to explode. Pretty sure he would sleep 6 or so hours if I let him. Makes me want to have another. More sleep more possibilities for babies I say!

ETA: I can even shower without DH watching him and he just chills or falls asleep :flushed:
I told my husband the only thing holding me back is 7 weeks in, and his sleep is still awful. When I get a good night, I'm all "bring on more babies!"

  • I told DH that breastfeeding was not 100% effective for birth control and he needed to quit acting like a horney toad- I said "do you really want two under one?" And he said "we'll see what happens"
even DH has the baby fever!

DH has been like this too... I love my LO but I'll pass on having 2 that close together.

Apparently my grandmother had an average of three months between all five of her pregnancies. I can't even imagine how she dealt with that! I'm thinking a maximum of two kids, four/five years apart, thankyouverymuch.

I had my first in August 2010 and my second in August 2011. I was also 21/22 years old but that shit was tough. Eating for 2 while breastfeeding... I felt like I was starving. No amount of food could satisfy me long.

I basically became a hermit. There were things that were easier (everything DS1 grew out of went straight into DS2s drawers) and things that were hard (DH was constantly away for weeks at a time so I felt alone and also I gave birth to DS2 without DH there). The hardest thing was the physical toll it took on my body though. Now DS1 and DS2 are inseparable and best of friends.

  • DH and I have always talked about having 2-3. LO is one month today and I've told DH several times in the last few weeks "... I think 1 is enough!" LOL!! I had a very difficult pregnancy, a csection, and a significant BF struggle. I'm sure I will be back on board with more kids in a few weeks, but right now the memory of it all is still strong with me!! Haha!

Bringing this back up to say:

My friend just had her reveal party. She's having a girl. Now I'm getting the baby itch. I have no idea why lol. Considering I had a pretty traumatic birth and adjustment to newborn life has been tough. And on top of the fact that I'm advised not to get pregnant for a year from the date of my CS and we simply can't afford another so quick...

But if I'm going to have another, might as well do it all at once, right?

Gah, I hate Mother Nature and hormones....
  • @tgortney We've both agreed to one more. Since coming to that firm decision, I really do just want to get it over asap. We'll probably start trying again next summer. It sounds way too soon though! I wish I weren't turning 33 this year to give me more confidence to wait.
  • @missnc77 We definitely want another. DH will probably have serious baby itch before me I think. He had it before me with this one too.

Maybe I'm just daydreaming because I'm not back at work yet. I think I'll change my tune once I'm back and I have to get use to a whole new routine :| End of 2017- Early 2018 sounds like a good time for us.

Honestly, I'm just trying to avoid being reallyyyy pregnant around winter in NC, don't wanna deal with the ice (yuck).
  • One of my best friends is eight weeks pregnant and even listening to her talk about the horrors of first trimester it still is making me want to be pregnant again. Add that to watching sixteen and pregnant on Hulu and I'm constantly reminding myself that we need to wait before another one.
  • @tripledaggerWed95976 FX for you! I hope you get the sibling spacing that you're hoping for!

    Girl, you're not alone! haha
  • At my appointment last week my midwife was talking to me about birth control options and mentioned if I got an IUD they would give me a pregnancy test first just to make sure I wasn't pregnant before they placed it. Then she added, "and if you were pregnant, the first thing I would do would be to prescribe you anti-depressants!" This was specifically in the context of getting pregnant that quickly after so much trauma to my body from pregnancy/birth and the emotional state it leaves you in, not about having a second kid in general... But I was like yeah, that would probably be necessary! She also made a good point about it taking a year to adjust to the new life of having a kid, and then how it's nice to enjoy your baby for a while after getting used to all of it before turning your attention to another one. So I might try to do that so I can give Sierra my full attention for a good amount of time. But I'm also tempted to just get the whole baby making part of my life over ASAP, so who knows at this point.
