So this was my 2nd try at IVF, after the first try was cancelled for poor response. Today, my 7th day of stims, I only had two follicles. So this IVF is cancelled and converted to IUI.
I'm not going to try again with my own eggs. I'm done. And hopeful about moving on to try reciprocal IVF with my wife's eggs.
But also feeling pretty awful about failing, though I'm trying to stay positive.

Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus! fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP! Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)

@KLake42 before you give up.. Have you thought about getting a second oppinion? I felt that way with my last dr. my current dr even though I was frustrated after I finally got one egg but I'm doing my 4th retrieval next week. As much as I kept losing hope or being upset. Remember too it's quality over quantity. I had three taken out, only two were matured and only one made it to day 5 and genetic testing. Try to Be strong. If you can't do it anymore then carry your wife's egg. The baby will be a part of you both physically so that would be a blessing. Whatever you choose we are here for you.

@LSatturo126, my doctor would keep trying to help me with IVF if I wanted to, and tweak my protocol. It might work. But we've spent over $50k on my sleepy ovaries already, and I don't want to throw our money away when my wife seems to have normal ovaries, and our chances of success seem higher with plan B.

Hello all you lovely ladies! I've been searching a while to find a thread that makes sense and I'm really glad I clicked here. You'll please forgive me I'm not caught up on all the abbreviations but I'll try my best. I feel like I was reading through a novel catching up with all of you waiting to hear successes in the next page.

its seems I might be the oldest one here as I've just turned 40 which scares the hell out of me especially as I thought I'd be trying for baby number 2 by now.
Been TTC over year and 1/2 and have learned I have a low AMH as well at .30, heart broken to say the least after always seeing bfn. I've been trying a few rounds with Clomid and trigger shot with no success. It's hard as I thought seeing a specialist would get me pregnant right away and 5 months later still nothing. My cycles haven't always cooperated giving me leftover uterine lining talk about a punch In the gut for another wasted month. I got 3 mature follicles last month and was really hoping for twins, I'm getting greedy now I kno, but no success. This month even with 100mg of Clomid only had one mature follicle, I just finished my first IUI but not really feeling so hopeful as I was suppose to do 2 but only got the chance to do one. I'm trying some acupuncture as well and I guess with such a stressful life it's hard for me to relax and find enjoyment in it but I'm trying. I've only been through 2 so far in hopes for this cycle. It's not my OH as he has great swimmers especially for his age so it's definitely on me....even though dr says I should've conceived on my own. I wish I wouldn't have waited the full year and just the 6 months to see a specialist as I feel like I've lost even more time. Now with this recent round of Clomid not responding wondering if I should ask my dr to up the dosage to 150mg if it doesn't happen this month. I thought to just jump to ivf but she still thinks I should try another round of IUI if this doesn't work, what do u ladies think? catching up on this ivf process does not seem like a picnic. I kno I should be positive that I'm getting some help but just so discouraged it's taken so long and I'm on the older side so I kno time is not on my side. @hopefulmom thanks so much for being a cheerleader I'm hoping for the same for you. As for IUIs and clomid, I feel like at our age and problem it's not even worth the time and money. If I could have gone back I would have just skipped and went to IVF. That's just my own personal opinion. Time is def not on our side but just try to be positive. For someone who has been trying for years this is the hardest part but hoping for us all a happy baby ending!

Hi! I am relatively "new" to infertility, but the start of our stories sound similar. I also did 2 cycles of Clomid earlier this year. I am currently in a cycle of Menopur+Ovidrel, which is a new step for me. I am not going to IUI yet, but I might if this fails. We are also the same age, but I have not had any tests or questions about AMH for me. (btw, thanks for spelling out what that acronym meant!) It sounds like you've been at this longer than I have, though, so all the best to you!
@LSatturo126 thanks for responding, I just got through reading another thread really dedicated to IUI and it was quite disheartening, I was excited to see at least 2 BFP, but it was a full month of nothing for so many, its so disheartening. I was thinking the same as you that I should go straight to IVF as I now really would like to have twins. I always thought i would have a big family and now i'll be lucky to be blessed with just one. I will say that post of all the shots MY GOODNESS!! That does not excite me AND my OH travels for business so its super hard trying to coordinate our schedules. I have to ask, did you get the job I'm invested now i hope u did!!
@puffinsandchocolate How is the menopur acting for you? Do you know how many mature follicles you are at? I'm just amazed at how many people get BFN with an IUI, they are literally putting the lil guys right there and it still doesn't take. I'd like to think i'm a pretty well educated person, and this i still do not get!!!

@Hopeful_mom Welcome! But, of course, I am sorry that you find yourself here. I have to say that I do agree with @LSatturo126. If I would have known about my AMH level as soon as we started trying, I would have skipped so much heartbreak (and time I felt was wasted) and gone straight to the IVF. Things happen for a reason, and I wouldn't change anything now, because I'm pregnant with my twinsies. But I remember going through the Clomid and knowing it wouldn't work. They initially wanted us to complete six cycles of the Clomid! No thanks, two was enough for us. They hadn't even offered me the AMH testing. I had to advocate for myself and I'm so glad that I did. I just had that feeling that something wasn't right... We ended up skipping IUI altogether and going straight to IVF. Just remember, if you choose to pursue IVF, it still may not happen on your first try. But I hope it does. I hope that the path you choose will lead you to your baby or babies!

@wenikilina thanks for your input I appreciate the time. It sux for everyone being in the infertility part of any forum BUT it's great to know you're not alone!! It's great you're having twins and have reserves for next time. The fact that I do have low AMH makes me think I should've spent this time trying to retrieve as many eggs as I can now. I think I'll need to follow up with my dr to see what's next. Unfortunately for me my insurance won't cover any ivf so I need to be wise and have to think things have to start aligning soon!!! hope ur feeling well and that nausea uve been having is subsiding for u!!

@hopefulmom No sadly I didn't get the job because there was someone more qualified, they did have the nerve to ask me if I had children which by law is illegal, I just said we tried for years but no luck. I didn't know if the answer I was about to tell her would help or hurt but I didn't get it. Everything happens for a reason. As for IVF not being covered,, I know, it wasn't covered for us for years that's why we kept trying on our own then hubs got a new job that did but now we have another new insurance that does but at 75%. So try your best at saving if you can and hopefully all will fall into place.

I'm not going to try again with my own eggs. I'm done. And hopeful about moving on to try reciprocal IVF with my wife's eggs.
But also feeling pretty awful about failing, though I'm trying to stay positive.

its seems I might be the oldest one here as I've just turned 40 which scares the hell out of me especially as I thought I'd be trying for baby number 2 by now.
Been TTC over year and 1/2 and have learned I have a low AMH as well at .30, heart broken to say the least after always seeing bfn. I've been trying a few rounds with Clomid and trigger shot with no success. It's hard as I thought seeing a specialist would get me pregnant right away and 5 months later still nothing. My cycles haven't always cooperated giving me leftover uterine lining talk about a punch In the gut for another wasted month. I got 3 mature follicles last month and was really hoping for twins, I'm getting greedy now I kno, but no success. This month even with 100mg of Clomid only had one mature follicle, I just finished my first IUI but not really feeling so hopeful as I was suppose to do 2 but only got the chance to do one. I'm trying some acupuncture as well and I guess with such a stressful life it's hard for me to relax and find enjoyment in it but I'm trying. I've only been through 2 so far in hopes for this cycle. It's not my OH as he has great swimmers especially for his age so it's definitely on me....even though dr says I should've conceived on my own. I wish I wouldn't have waited the full year and just the 6 months to see a specialist as I feel like I've lost even more time. Now with this recent round of Clomid not responding wondering if I should ask my dr to up the dosage to 150mg if it doesn't happen this month. I thought to just jump to ivf but she still thinks I should try another round of IUI if this doesn't work, what do u ladies think?

IVF#3 November 2016 (4 ER, 3 F, 3DT)-BFP
IVF#4 March 2017 //EPP (10 ER (1 wonky so 9 ER) 7F, 3B (5AB, (2)5BB) PGS tested- ALL abnormal
IVF#5 April 2017 // EPP (7 ER, 7F yes! 6B) 2/5 day 4/6 day - 2 PGS normal! yes!!
IVF#6 May 2017 // Antagonist didn't have time for Estrogen Priming...(4 ER, 3 F, 3B) (5AB, (2) 5BB) 2 PGS normal, yes!!
IVF#7 June 2017 // EPP praying this is it and then on to an FET!

In 2015 I was 35...Found out I had only one working ovary, which was DOR, with scar tissue and I ovulated at 7 days, with a small cervix opening and a tilted uterus... @puffinsandchocolate How is the menopur acting for you? Do you know how many mature follicles you are at? I'm just amazed at how many people get BFN with an IUI, they are literally putting the lil guys right there and it still doesn't take. I'd like to think i'm a pretty well educated person, and this i still do not get!!!
