I use an OB/GYN and midwife practice and they will schedule your first appointment at their first availability once you've let them know you got a positive test. I called at 4 weeks 1 day and they wanted me to come the next day! It didn't work with my schedule thought so my first appt is 6/15. I think I remember them doing an ultrasound at my first visit with DS, but I don't think they did with DD, so we'll see. I'm guessing we won't have one quite yet so that I don't get my hopes up!

Well, I'm officially scheduled at 3 today for my confirmation appointment, at which they'll schedule the first real appointment.

I am really nervous about going back to this office after last time... they are super nice but it's hard to forget the bad news you got last time you were there.

It is probably good they were able to schedule me same day, because I know I would just be more anxious. In fact I put off calling until today, thinking it would be next week.

** TW Previous loss**
The appointment went well. The NP was super sweet, she answered all of my questions, and told me not to worry; that a previous MC has no bearing on this pregnancy. It was reassuring, even if I am still going to be a nervous wreck until I hear a heart beat.

** You're good again now!**

I am now scheduled for the first big appointment July 6th, where we get an ultrasound and do all the initial paperwork and whatnot. I should be just shy of 8 weeks at the time, and able to see a strong heart beat! I am just staying positive, and counting down the month until July 6th!

Finally found a Dr. First appointment is 6/30. I'll be 8 weeks. Kinda nervous though. Husband always went with me to every appt for other kids. We live an hour from family and don't have a trusted sitter here so looks like I'll be going alone to this one.

June 17th (I'll be 7 weeks exactly) for my first U/S, and my first appointment with my OB is June 22nd... we drew betas a few nights at work and so far so good!

My appointment is in a few weeks. I'll only be roughly 7 weeks (actually a little less by my calculations). I tried to talk her out of it, because last time, I went that early, and it was semi-pointless, meaning, they have you pee on a stick, so, sure, ok, but then they tried to do a U/S, which came up empty, because I wasn't far enough along. They had to send me downstairs to another more sensitive U/S thing to try to hear a heartbeat. You may not be able to hear the heartbeat that early, so I don't even know why I have to go this early.

Anyway. Just a rant. But, I suppose since I'm old, we can schedule the Materni21 or whatever it's called. I guess that is one perk of being 35? Early screening and finding out the sex.

Talked to my RE office this afternoon. I am scheduled to come in 6/24, next Friday for my first US. I will be 6+5 at that time. Looking forward to it but oddly nervous today. I think I will feel so much better when I see that little babe in there...and have MS. (No idea why that makes me feel better, but it would.)

@SPurp13 In the over 35 club. My hubby is so excited about all the extra ultrasounds and early testing like Materni21 - he wants to know the sex. It kind of feels a little bit like cheating - getting to know the sex at 10 weeks - we should have to wait like everyone else, right? lol!

Anyways, First appointment will make this seem a bit more real. I can't believe we are here again. We are all so lucky!

My first appointment is 6/22, with my first ultrasound scheduled for 7/11. I keep taking HCG tests to make sure my lines are staying strong and dark as I await the official confirmation from my doctor. I'm also in the over 35 club (37 next month), so early testing here too.

I FINALLY heard back from my doctor and have my first appointment on Friday 7/1. I will be 8 weeks based on LMP or 7 weeks based on O.

Had my first appointment today including an ultrsaound! Measured as 6w 2 days versus 6 weeks 1 day based on when I ovulated (and LMP which would have me at 5 weeks 5 days). They drew blood, did pregnancy, swabbed for infections, and scheduled my next appt for 7/14. We're going to have another ultrasound that day to make sure everything is progressing as it should be.

Baby's heartbeat was 116 bpm (low for a baby, but about right for this early).

@caribbeanmama do you know how long the tests normally take to come back?
I ask because I hope we know before we go on vacation (when we are telling a few people)! I think I'll get the test about a week or two before we go (if my calendar skills are right).

Just had my 1st appt today with the NP. Pretty much the same as last time but I had a dating scan since I just got AF back in April after a year hiatus d/t bf my 14 mo. There was a gestational sac and yolk but nothing else yet. Probably have another u/a in two weeks so hopefully there's a gummy bear

@SPurp13 I remember them saying it would take a week but I think we got it a tad sooner. The tests were processed at Sequenom not sure if it is still a single facility that handles all the samples or not. They called us for the results. I say if you have a two week gap you should be able to hear in time provided your doctor's office will tell you on the phone and doesn't insist on you scheduling an appointment to go in.

Second betas tomorrow, expecting a call from my family Dr with results Friday. He will book an ultrasound next week based on the results. Third beta Saturday. First midwife appointment July 5th if I'm lucky enough to make it out of this limbo.

This thread has made me feel so much better. I have my first appointment with a NP on July 1st which is approx 6 weeks. There I will schedule the ultrasound for some time between then and the appointment I have with my doctor which is July 27th at approx 10 weeks.

I was so worried it was so far away even though DH pointed out it's really only about 2 weeks. The nurse told me I don't need to do anything unless I have bleeding I'm fine but I keep POAS to make sure the line keeps getting darker.

The midwife clinic i wanted can take me, that's the good news!! Bad news is they typically see women for the first time around 10/11 weeks....so my appt is 7/15. I woll be 10 w+4. A whole month!!! Hoping it goes quickly and smoothly!!!
