I have a consult on 6/3. My doc stopped doing the OB side a couple of years ago, but when I talked with her earlier this year about ttc, she said she'd want to see me as soon as I missed AF, so she can refer me to a 35+ specialist.

I haven't been told when the first appointment will be. I have my first beta on Friday and the second shortly after. I think I will have an ultrasound and appointment 2-3 weeks after that. I haven't been through IVF before
EDIT I finally heard from the clinic. I will have my secod beta on Monday and the first ultrasound June 21/22.
I did not have an appointment to confirm pregnancy with any other pregnancy. The first appointment was anywhere from 8 - 10 weeks. With my daughter I saw a doctor, not my own, earlier due to bleeding and having to be monitored for several weeks. I know there are tests that have to be done within a certain amount of time so I always went in before those.
Our first appointment is June 30th but we are currently drawing betas because of my TR and high chance of etopic. I wish it was sooner but it was all they had available.
@BumpasaurusRex we had the same issue, but the option they gave me is 7/30. I am seeing a different doctor for my first appointment that is in the same office.

Yikes, that's so far away!
My current OB was recommended to me by a friend years ago and they are always so busy. But my doctor has amazing bedside manner and I've never felt rushed in the past so it's worth it to me.
I go for blood work and first ultrasound on the 27th and then meet the midwife for the first time on the 30th. They didn't want to see me until I was at least 8 weeks along!
I had mine earlier today at exactly 5 weeks! Met with my regular ob/gyn and nurse practitioner. Urine test, questions, and blood drawn. Just got a phone call that my hCG level was at 1,869 and they scheduled my 8 week ultrasound to happen on 6/24. Too excited!
I haven't even called my doctor yet. After 2 losses I guess I'm just scared I'll loss this one too. I definitely don't want to go until at least 6 weeks so I can at least see the heartbeat but I've just been nervous and haven't called yet.
I've had my betas drawn 3 times already. I go in again tomorrow and then have my first US scheduled for next Wednesday when I should be exactly 6 weeks
My appt is on the 29th of this month. Seems so far away! I'm a little nervous because I've always gone to the nurse practitioner at this office for my checkups, and this will be my first time seeing the regular doctor. Eek! Hopefully I like him. They said they don't have you come in until 8 weeks, but then they asked me when my last period was and scheduled for 8 weeks from that...so i'm a little confused, but whatever, lol. This is my first pregnancy so I have no idea what's going on, maybe that's how it works?
@pennylucilleI thought that was weird too, but I found this on American Pregnancy: "The development of pregnancy is counted from the first day of the woman's last normal menstrual period (LMP), even though the development of the fetus does not begin until conception, which is about two weeks later." I didn't know that either, but in a way it makes sense!

So my last pregnancy (ended in MC) when I called the doctor they set my first appointment right after my 8 week mark. This time (same doctor) when I called to set the appointment the lady said she's new, that they don't schedule until after 9 weeks, and ended up putting me in at 10w3d. My first appointment isn't until July 12th! I'm not sure if I should call back and try to get something earlier since I've had a MC or not. She said they're very full, which I understand, but they have to have openings for new moms to fill. That just seems really late to have a first appointment.
@Vastra yes, I did some research last night and saw the same thing. So strange to say I'm 4 weeks pregnant when I know I'm only 2, lol. I'm glad to know that is how they do it though, and they didn't mess up when making my appointment Even though it feels so far away, it would be a bummer to go in too early and not be able to see anything on the ultrasound.
@becbec28 I wouldn't be super concerned about that. My OB wouldn't schedule me until I hit 10 weeks last time, but then I miscarried 2 days before my appointment
This time I told her I really wanted to come in earlier, so she is letting me come in at 8 weeks, which will be July 27th!! yay!
Maybe try calling them back and just explaining that due to your history you'd like to come in earlier?
I went into the walkin clinic at my doctor's office and did a confirmation that way. And got my referral to the OB. I go in tuesday to the OB to tour and set up the first appt.
We had our first beta today and will have a repeat done this Wednesday. After that they will either have one more repeat, or just schedule my first (dating) u/s. From there I will book a midwife appointment. I will be under the care of my RE during the entire first trimester as well.

Just called this morning and scheduled my first appointment for 7/7. That's sooooooo far! ;-). Last pregnancy was the same, though. First appointment not until 8 or 9 weeks. Did leave a note for the midwife about my spotting though so if she feels like she should see me sooner she will let me know. Fingers crossed all is well......but I wouldn't mind an earlier ultrasound just to see :-)
was as hoping for an earlier appointment, at least the week before that so we could safely announce to the family that will be over for our forth of July picnic! But oh well, we will just have to wait.
Mine is not till 27th, they make you wait soo long and they are really full since she is one of the few female gynos and soo many woman want her.
We moved to a different city since our youngest was born (she's 7 lol) but when I searched for the Dr's in our city to stay with this hospital and be closer for travel for our kids to see me, I realized there is only 1 group. And in that group there is only woman. If I want to see a woman in private practice I'll have a farther drive, and be at a farther hospital. trying g to decide what to do

Same. Had my first beta today, repeat on Wednesday, another if necessary, and under the care of my RE. He also gave me a prescription for progesterone that I will start this evening.
July 1 - they like to see you between 8-10 weeks (the entire time period of our 2 week vacation). It will be an ultrasound and visit with the nurse. We won't meet with the OB until 12 weeks
