So apparently my toddler wants to get me ready for having a newborn again... He was up at 12:30, wouldn't go back down until 2:30 and was up again at 5:15, when I brought him downstairs and let him watch TV. He's usually such a good sleeper, so I'm not used to this level of exhaustion anymore!! I feel like I'm hungover, but didn't get to have the fun part
Remind me to never schedule a prenatal appointment at 730 am after working a late shift the night before. Ugh.
I definitely had another it's getting real moment this morning when at 30 weeks they give you a labor talk. We went over impending signs of labor and what to do and who to call and a birth plan if I want one. It felt like an out of body experience this morning.
I also got a bag with packets of info, free formula and a cooler for breast milk. I love free shit.

@AliKay20 you don't have to miss us. We will still be here, just instead of talking about being pregnant, we will be talking about our babies! 6 months is not unheard of lol. My lo is going to be about 16 months younger than our youngest dd.
This is super random but I think it's hilarious. DD has started saying boobie and every time I change clothes she will point at my boobs and say boobie over and over again. It probably won't be as funny when she gets a little older and pointing at random people saying boobie.
My husband taught my dd to use boobie when she wanted to nurse. It is absolutely mortifying when she is in public and he just laughs. Now she only asks when she is tired, so most of the time it isn't an issue. A couple months back though we were on a plane and we were waiting for everyone to leave the plane. I stood up causing dd to wake and she started yelling "boobie, boobie" on a very quiet plane. I have never been so embarrassed in my life!
Yeah... We use "boob", usually fine unless its during prayer in church and her hand is down my shirt *Yelling* BOOB.... BOOB...
@midwestbaby free shit is the best. I agree 100%. At my OB where the sono waiting area is they put all the free similac grab bags that have the mini formula containers. No one monitors them and they are there to take as you please. I've grabbed one damn near every time. I don't even feel bad, similac isn't hurting for those bad boys lol
I decided to finally clean out DDs winter clothes that don't fit anymore now that's it's June and the high tomorrow is 100. I got 2 garbage bags full and now her closet is pretty empty. We need more summer clothes.
My best friend's five year old realized I was pregnant last weekend (even though we see them almost every week!) and on Monday asked his mom where I put the baby when I went to work. She told him I take the baby with me because it's in my belly. He thought about it and said "Doesn't that get in the way?" Apparently he had lots of baby questions after seeing me Saturday, so funny.
I feel guilty returning items from people we really love. Ugh we have two diaper bags... and one is a Diaper dude bag... the other is a gender neutral one we agreed on sharing as a bag... I can't get myself to return the diaper dude because of who its from.. but we will never use it. My husband is too lazy to take the items out of the diaper bag to shove them into the other bag... and I wouldn't use the diaper dude one because I hate bags that are messenger style because I like to dig in the bag while wearing it... should I keep all these items around just because I feel offensive by returning things? I feel like theyre going to visit expecting to see us using the item.
DH and I had an almost-argument this morning. We're purging toys, books, clothes, etc. from DS's room as part of our annual summer deep cleaning. We have this horrid walking, talking Elmo toy still in the box. DH's parents got it for DS for Christmas. I want to donate it, but DH doesn't feel good about just getting rid of Christmas presents from his parents. I get that...but at the same time, they buy *so much* that it's unrealistic to keep everything. DH thinks I'm being judgmental. I am. It's wonderful that they are so generous, but we have rights as parents to decide that a toy isn't going to stay in the house.
@skelly70 we have the same issues. DHs family all religiously shop at dollar general so they buy a ton of cheap toys that DD is either too young or too old to play with. I'm not a snob or anything but with all the money they spend on crap at dollar general they could buy her something nice that she would actually play with. I have no shame in throwing stuff out or returning.
@Katm89 I think it does feel kind of awkward to return things that certain people buy you but I also think that if you weren't going to use it they would rather you return it for something that you need and would use. That's just my experience though.
@Katm89 I used to feel bad and then had a bunch of useless stuff in my house that I eventually just donated to goodwill. I would rather switch it out for something we would use and that item would become my new reminder of the friend's generosity. If they ask about it, tell them the truth... You have two! Or you could explain your situation and ask if it would "be okay". I have no shame anymore. Not going to use it? Return pile.
Ok so I had to give a speech today in front of 25 folks.... Needless to say my pregnancy brian kicked in and I totally lost my train of thought and sounded like a big rube. LOL
@Katm89 my plan is to return things I don't need, I am a total purger. I agree with @justaudrey I would just tell them the truth, I have 20 newborn hats. But I also plan on taking pics of each gift and from whom so I know. LOL
I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow and I don't think I've been this excited about something in a while. I've been growing it out but it's starting to feel heavy so I'm going for the longer in the front shorter in the back for summer. One perk about the prenatal viatmin is it makes my hair grow like crazy.
So I went in for an ultrasound today (I'm 31+3) and the babies are an estimated 4.5lbs and 4.6lbs. Anyone ever have these be way off? Kind of freaking out about already having over 8.5lbs of baby in there with over 6 weeks left to go...

I am so jealous! My hair and nails both grow extremely fast when not pregnant but as soon as I am, they are at a stand still. I've been trying to grow my hair out since I found out my brother was getting married last fall and it hasn't even grown an inch since getting pregnant.
@justaudrey@Lynnlove28@sbelle474 I completely agree, but I already told them we love it. I think I may just keep one as an overnight bag... and the other as a daily bag and then organize certain things in pouches so i can just swap them out. Below are the diaper bags we received.
@Katm89 I bought the diaper dude for DH as a Father-to-be Day gift and he was super excited about it. We even put its own set of everything in there so we wouldn't have to swap things later on. Unfortunately, it has been sitting in a closet for over a year and a half. I think maybe he used it once. I know he appreciated the gift and thinks it's cool but it's not worth the hassle sometimes. I always think of things in cost of diapers and that bag cost me 4 packs of diapers to sit in the closet lol (ours was the convertible messenger/backpack)
I'm sure you'll get use out of it as an overnight bag for trips to grandma/grandpa's!

@rikopy Wow! I will have an ultrasound next week and I'm estimating they will both be over 3 lbs based on what they were last week. I'll be 29+6 then. My specialist said they gain a half an ounce a day and then once they get to 30 weeks they gain an ounce a day. So after 30 weeks they should be gaining quite a bit... I guess I would just be prepared to go at any time now!
I read they can be off by more than 10 percent about 30-40% of the time (studies were done on singleton pregnancies). So probably not always super accurate.
@katm89, I like to keep more than one lunch box / grab bag and purse on hand because I like to have another option if one gets dirty or there is a spill. I would think an extra diaper bag would come in handy if you think it is something will use if the other is out of commission, or maybe I just have more mishaps than others. :-/
I'm officially freaking out about everything being ready. There is no time, I waited too long for a shower, I just spent $60 dollars on bleach laundry detegergents and a pack of small diapers. I'm losing my mind today. My purchase doesn't even make sense. DH is so amused.
My feet started swelling a few days ago and were really aching. I decided to try soaking them this evening in a mix with Epsom salt. Well, soaking them in the tub didn't sound comfortable, so I found a big plastic bin and my husband and I successfully set it up and I soaked my feet for 20 min while sitting on the couch, and didn't make a mess. This is a huge victory, because I totally spilt water on myself three times at work yesterday... And Cheerios down my shirt. Small victories!
STMs: any suggestions for nursing in bed with good back support? I remember nursing with my boppy and pillows behind me in bed with my DD and it killing my back.
We weren't able to do laying down side nursing until she was much older.
My mom just mentioned the laid back nursing position to me (she is a lactation consultant.) This article describes it a bit. Maybe it would be more comfortable, or maybe you have already tried it...
@rikopy they told me DS1 was over 8lbs at my final ultrasound (36ish weeks) and he ended up being 7lbs8oz when he was born 3 weeks later. I feel like they typically overestimate weight.
@rikopy they are positioned like a T unfortunately. How are yours? Baby A has been head down in my pelvis the entire time (I feel this one will need a helmet later on because of it) and its feet go towards my back. Baby B has its head stuck under my left ribs and it's feet go over to my right side. I'll most likely have a c section if B doesn't turn, which I am completely fine with. I get ultrasounds every two weeks with them being high risk and sharing a placenta, so I know what their weights have been this whole time and what they have been growing. I don't think that it is too far off and both my doctors feel they are right on track.

DH and I totally have separate diaper bags. His is more neutral, one neither of us would mind carrying, mine is dooney and burke - and totally looks like a giant purse. It's pretty enough I don't mind giving up my purse to have one bag instead, so it was worth it. Plus - we bought is from a consignment store, so it was pretty reasonable. We're thinking his will be the "diaper bag" and mine will be my purse - but with all the essentials for baby too, so if it is just us going somewhere I only need to worry about one bag... Hopefully we're successful at breastfeeding, so that will limit what needs to go in my bag to some degree.
@tmk0325 they're both head down now (as of my most recent appt) with their butts on my belly... Pretty much side by side, except the tech said our girl is kind of on top of her brother (which I thought was funny). His feet must be up in my ribs though, because I've been having a lot of pain in my ribs on my right side.
And we are totally having two diaper bags. I registered for a grey Eddie Bauer backpack one for SO and my mom got me the Vera Bradley large stroll around diaper bag that I was eyeing up. I sent her the email when they had a good sale so she snatched it up. I'm pretty excited about it!

Looking for some ideas. Special pillow?
