June/July IVF or FET

Re: June/July IVF or FET

  • @BlueEyedDreamer and @sleepyrn good luck today!!!

@kyrgyzshan pp description of each procedure is spot on. I had major cramping with both procedures, but the sono seems to be the lesser of two evils for most. For some reason the sono left me crampy for a few days and had some spotting, but that is not the norm. You should just experience some minor discomfort while the saline expands your uterus. Walk in the park! GL!

  • @Happydays13 hope you hear good news today!!

@emgem819 I had something similar once. Doctor said it was a blocked pore that got irritated. If you've increased your activity level, sometimes sweat and friction can cause that bump. I think you should discuss with your RE though just to be safe. Don't know why it would effect your transfer. Hope that helps!

  • @emgem819 I get those once in a while, but my doctor said they were blocked pores, like @babylonghorn16 said. High temps, sweating, tighter pants, etc can all contribute to it. My doc said that they're 99.999% harmless, but sometimes they can be lanced if it's uncomfortable or hurting from friction and whatnot...
  • Thanks @caseyw8784 and @babylonghorn16 good to know it's likely nothing to worry about.  It has been extra hot lately and we did a lot of house spring cleaning yesterday (up and down stairs) so I was extra active.  Must be that.  Thanks for your help!  I'll bring it up with my RE just in case.

  • @emgem819 - My mom and I both get something  that sounds similar that she calls sebaceous cysts.   It's fairly similar to an oversized zit.   It's uncomfortable and (TMI warning) when they do drain, it's an unpleasant odor.  I was told the same thing as @caseyw8784 and @babylonghorn16 on how they come about.

  • Wow! This board was busy over the weekend! I had a friend from grad-school in town so was busy playing host and just hanging out with her. She knows we are going through IVF so it was nice to not have to hide everything and she asked a lot of questions about stuff. I'll do my best to catch up on what's been going on!

Good luck to those who have ET today! FX for sticky embies!!

@nuttymask I can understand you being disappointed from having 4 follies after starting stims. Please remain hopeful.  Remember quality is better than quantity. Also, I've seen a success story where a woman only had one egg retrieved. She now has a son!

AFM - i'm driving myself insane. I'm 6dp5dt and dyyiiing to know if it took or not. Keep on thinking of reasons it wouldn't have and stressing myself out. Trying to remember to breeeeathe and stay positive! I have 101 symptoms, but all can be blamed on the Crinone, so not sure which ones are "real" or not. This last stretch is really tough. I'm trying NOT to POAS, but as I get closer to my beta, I may cave. Want to prepare myself for bad news - the day I find out is the day we arrive at my husband's family reunion. Don't want to be a mess if we don't hear what we've been praying for.

  • @babylonghorn16 i can't imagine how hard the waiting must be right now, especially when yo're so close! When is your beta scheduled for? I know for me, personally, if I was going to be around a lot of people, I would probably cave and POAS, like you said, so I can prepare myself either way...GL in what you end up deciding to do!
  • I'm so excited for the ERs and ETs this week!!  Can't wait to hear beta results!!

Guys, I'm losing hope. I came up against yet another possible obstacle today and I'm really feeling down. Do ya'll have things you're reading to help you through this process?? I've got friends to talk to, and of course TheBump ladies are always wonderful. : )  But I am just so tired of this. Anyone have any recommendations?

@kyrgyzstan If you are a person of faith, I highly recommend Psalms.  They help me remain calm and at peace with everything.  I started reading one per night when I was stimming and when I had OHSS.

Edited to add: I also look up IVF success stories on youtube.  Those keep me hopeful too.

  • This board has been so busy lately that I don't know how to keep up!

Forgive me if I've missed this, but has anyone here been diagnosed with endometriosis? I just started my cycle yesterday and the past few have been getting worse and worse. Last night I woke up with severe stomach, back, and pelvic pain. I put the heating pad on but was up for hours. I'm still in pain. I'm starting to worry it could be endometriosis. None of my doctors have ever suggested looking into it though.

  • Thanks @emgem819 I'm already looking it up!
  • @lilmisslp According to my doctor, the number refers to how close it is to being ready to implant (highest is 6), the first letter grades the outer shell of the blast, which turns into the placenta, and the second letter is for the inner cells, which grow into a baby. :)

@sleepyrn Congrats on your transfer and the beautiful embryos! I hope your Cs grow and make it to freeze. I think crampiness is normal. Are you going to test at home before beta or wait?

I had a close friend today tell me that there's a state (like a US state) where IVF is "really cheap" and that we should just go there cause she heard from someone that it's like under $5k... and was surprised I hadn't heard of that. I was like, well maybe they were talking about states where IVF is required to be covered by insurance... but no, I don't think there's a state where IVF is magically 75% off...

    Hahaha.

She was pretty sure I just need to research it more.

Thanks @sleepyrn nope not too far behind either!  I am doing a FET as I had mild OHSS so my re suggested I wait.  I had my ER last month's cycle and have 8 embabies on ice from then.  They will be picking the best one out of these and putting it in: Day 5: XB Aa, XB Aa, B Bb, Day 6:HB Bb, XB Bc, XB Ab, XB Bb, XB Bb.  Assuming they'll pick an Aa one since that's the highest quality!

  • Thanks @caseyw8784. My RE said I needed to stop the HGH as the side effects definitely seemed like an allergic reaction. Bummed but so it goes. At least I got 2 days in....

@emgem819 - thanks! This will be a fresh transfer (hopefully) and with any luck we'll have a few frosties too.

@KLake42 - yes, the headaches! I was more queasy with the estrogen priming so thankfully the stims haven't been as bad on that front - yet anyway!

@Happydays13 - FX most, if not all, made it!

@annebenton22 - FX it continues to go so smoothly!

AFM - b/w this AM. Got taken off the HGH (Omnitrope) due to allergic reaction. It was the right call (I've had continued itching and trouble breathing all day), but I'm still a bit bummed about it. Hormones say keep up the current dosing. Will go back Wednesday for an u/s to see how many we successfully "recruited" this month.
