  • Hey ladies. I have a quick question for you all about monitoring during stimming. So, I started my meds on Thurs eve. and I go in for BW on Monday, but no US and then again on Thursday for both. Should I be going in more than that or is this normal? I trust my doctor, just curious to see what everyone else was doing.

@annebenton22 I had both ultrasound and blood work about 4 times during my stims.  I think my first monitoring appointment was three days after I started my first injection.  The next ones were two days apart.  Your protocol sounds about right to me.

@chicandbubbly Congrats on your ER!  12 eggs is awesome!  I hope they all fertilize and grow, grow, grow!

AFM- I flew to the central US yesterday to visit my DH since I have a little time before I start meds again.  As soon as I arrived, he told me he was going home from the project.  Not cool.  But, we made the most of it and did some sightseeing today.  We are both leaving tomorrow  to fly back home (I was supposed to stay a week). Oh well!

  • @Andreap681 I just get a red, itchy spot, like a mosquito bite.  But it goes away after an hour or so.

I just injected my first stim shot for this cycle. 300 units menopur and 300 units gonal-f make a pretty big shot. I'm glad I had some chocolate afterwards.

  • Question for you ladies: for my ET they told me to go in with a "semi-full bladder." How are you even supposed to get a semi-full bladder?  I'd rather it be full or not full!  How do you just pee a little lol?

  • Hey @emgem819 I was confused too, but I just drank a ton of water and went to bathroom about an hour before my appointment. That way I wasn't dying, but still felt my bladder was full enough at the time of my appointment. They will give you water while you wait if you're worried it's not full enough. It's kinda just a guessing game. GL!

  • @emgem819 For all of my ETs they have me pee before I leave for the clinic (it takes me about 45 minutes to get there) then 1 hour before transfer time (usually about 10-15 minutes after we leave the house) I am supposed to drink 32 oz of fluid within a 15 minutes window. When I go back to the transfer room they do an ultrasound to check how full my bladder is, and if it isn't full enough (like it has been for 2 of my 3 transfers) I drink another 16-32 ounces. If it is too full (like for my second one) I was allowed to go to the bathroom, but could only pee for 10 seconds then had to stop. It was hard, but doable.

  • @chicandbubbly - Yay for little embabies! Grow, embabies, grow!
  • @emgem819 i was only told to drink a glass/8oz on the way.  its only for the ultrasound to see the anatomy of everything better.  While i was at my ET yesterday the girl before me apparently drank too much and she HAD to pee right before and thought she screwed up the whole thing.  They told her not to worry and she seemed to come out fine.

  • Hey ladies - new (and late) to joining the thread but looking forward to some cycle buddies this month!

Started stims yesterday on CD 2 - 425 of Follistim, 10 of micro-hCG and 0.5 of Omnitrope HGH after 10 days of priming with Estrace. Already feeling horrible. If there's a side effect to have, you can be guaranteed I'll have it (but then it's always that way for me with meds).

Now will go back and do my best to catch up on everyone else cycling this month.

  • Morning ladies! I had a question about the hysterosalpingogram. Since I've been going through the IF process officially for a year now all of my tests are expiring. I had the HSG way back then, but today I'm scheduled for a sonohystogram. I'm just wondering what the difference is and what ya'll's experience has been with these two tests.

And @msirni0 the only symptom I had during my last cycle of stims was a pretty constant throbbing headache. Tylenol helped but I had to be on top of it. I've gone back to acupuncture for this cycle so hopefully she can help with that too. Although, since I'm changing up the meds I'm expecting new symptoms.
  • Thanks for the good wishes, friends! ET is at 11am eastern time, and I'm in the waiting room drinking water and listening to some calming music. So nervous but really excited, too!!!

  • @adunkin, I am right there with you.  I've only had two nights of stims so far (300 gonal-f, 300 menopur, plus 20 lupron morning and night), and I already feel like my jeans are too snug on my belly, I'm headachey and queasy, and I woke up in a flop sweat last night.

I'm sure some of it is just stress, too.

@kyrgyzshan, I've had both tests.  The HSG hurt me a lot, and the sono was just uncomfortable.  I think it depends on your body, as to whether or not it hurts-- some people don't feel anything more than a gentle cramp.

@BlueEyedDreamer, good luck!  It's almost time!

  • Good luck to both @BlueEyedDreamer and @sleepyrn on today's transfer!  You'll be PUPO so soon!

AFM sort of concerned about something I found this morning.  When I woke up I discovered a small cyst type bump, right below the vagina opening (outside).  I called DH and he's coming home at lunch to look at it (I work from home today) and I took a bath and it seems to be smaller but I'm still concerned.  I am so scared to tell my RE because I have my egg transfer Wednesday and don't want it to be cancelled!  I googled it and found a few possibilities like maybe it's Bartholin's cyst but I have no idea.  Has anyone ever experienced this before?  Think it will go away or should I tell my RE?

  • @kyrgyzshan - a hysterosalpingogram is a radiology study using dye and radiation (x ray) to create a picture of the inside contours of the uterus and the tubes, and will check that the tubes are not blocked, as the dye spills out the ends. A sonohysterogram uses saline and ultrasound to look at the inside contours of the uterus...a little less detailed but no radiation.

    Hope that helps!

@BlueEyedDreamer and @sleepyrn - sending lots of prayers and positive energy for you and your embabies today!
