My hips are killing me! Also, I discovered a couple days ago that I now have "masking". I didnt get this with my previous pregnancies. I'm not happy about it. Oh well.
My face is like one big mask now. I had it with DD too. There is some good stuff post pregnancy you can use to get rid of it. But, for now, get some really good sunscreen and wear hats even if it is overcast.
I started with an "outie" belly button, and now it is very flattened out, which is odd. I am also getting stretch marks, but only in concentric circles around my belly button! It is starting to look like a bullseye -LOL
@lotsofsunshine I'm having hip pain too, it sucks. From descriptions I've read mine doesn't seem like sciatica or RLP. It's only my right hip and it is a constant, dull pain on the outside right at the joint (not at all in my back or tailbone.) It started a couple of weeks ago when I had been on my feet for a couple hours at Target and it has not let up for one minute since. It feels like if you sit in the same position too long except it doesn't go away no matter what position I'm in. Sitting, standing, laying on either side. It makes sleeping really difficult! I meant to ask about it at my last appointment but it is near impossible to ask more than one or two questions before they run out of the room. So annoying. My husband will literally stand in front of the door when he's at appointments with me so they can't escape lol, but I am not assertive enough.
My biggest new/returning symptom is getting soooo tired again. I'll suddenly hit a wall and have to take power nap, like almost every day...and the tiredness just comes out of nowhere!
And the heartburn has hit with a vengeance today. I forgot how awful this is. Looks like I'll be back to my first trimester meal of cereal for supper. Do y'all have good luck with Zantac?
I just ate maybe 30 minutes ago. And while I'm reading I just all of a sudden feel shakey like I did in college when I went a day without eating (stress because of finals). Is this a sign of pregnancy diabetes. My glucose test is scheduled for this Thursday

This has been happening to me too! Throughout my whole pregnancy, actually, but especially so recently. I also get really dizzy and weak feeling when it happens. My glucose test is next week so I can't answer your question. But my doctor told me to eat every two hours and to have protein with every snack. She said it would help with that and so far it really has. Maybe you could try doing that for now if you haven't been doing that already?

Ditto. This has been my whole pregnancy. I'm having twins so I'm sure that has something to do with it. But I also have low blood pressure and I think that is an issue too. I Definitely eat every 1.5-2 hours, also try to have something with protein, and make sure to drink lots of good fluids through out the day!!
Anyone's baby give them the feeling of motion sickness with their moving? During the day I am fine, but around 3 a.m. he has a party and I wake up sick every time.
Car0liiineMy husband will literally stand in front of the door when he's at appointments with me so they can't escape lol, but I am not assertive enough.
This made me LOL. I'm glad he intervenes for you. Im sorry you are hurting. My hips have been popping every time I take a step or readjust in my seat or anything. It makes me feel worthless. I don't get nearly as much done as I should because the pain is real. I'm pretty sure I just need to go into hibernation until baby comes.
I didn't know about pure exhaustion until I became pregnant. First trimester was bearable, believe it or not.
It's this last trimester I just feel completely weak no matter how much sleep I get. I feel beat up weak and sleepy all the time. My belly is getting so big that no position will alleviate the pressure and discomfort. Coupled with swollen legs, I just feel beaten! I go for walks at least every other day, drink tons of water, and get 8 or 9 hrs of sleep during the week!
One thing that makes me feel better even if it's temporary is taking a semi-cool bath. DH sets a "spa playlist" and lits up some candles for me. He tries.
Lately just standing up for like 5 minutes feels like running a marathon. Like heart rate up, legs start to burn, breathing hard. ??? Not sure if this is a general third trimester thing or because I'm not eating and drinking enough. Anyone else have this? I really hope it goes away after pregnancy or I dunno how I will take care of a baby!
@AliKay20 and @Car0liiine I can relate to all of that! My biggest challenge lately has been laundry. Our laundry room is in the basement. Going down isn't a huge deal but coming back up, especially with a basket full of clothes, is horrible. Most of the time I call my dh or dd down to carry up baskets for me. My ankles have been getting so big and I am always tired.
I've been noticeably more tired the last couple weeks and get lightheaded if I'm moving around too much. I chalked it up to third trimester, but when I went in for my 28 week exam Monday, it turned out that I'm anemic. All the other numbers were fine--blood pressure great, urine sample fine, no gestational diabetes. Started iron supplements Wednesday, but I'm feeling marginally worse, definitely not better, and not enjoying the digestive side effects of iron. I figure I'll give the iron a week to make a positive difference before asking the doctor about it. This warm and 90+ percent humidity in the mornings is going to do me in. I feel like I need to go back to bed after a relatively slow walk and a shower!! Anyone else?
Baby's movements today have been really weird, he's pushing out a lot and it's really uncomfortable. I also keep getting these sharp pains here and there that only last for a few seconds but are not pleasant.
Heartburn like crazy, even from just drinking a glass of water and tailbone pain. Oh lord the tailbone pain. I think this little guy likes to sleep on one of my nerves in my rear. It was so excruciating after a trip to the bathroom in the middle of the night last night I woke DH up to make him rub it until it eased up. Ahhh, the things we do for love.
Also lightening crotch. Kid kicked me so hard this morning I gasped and doubled over. What the heck?
I went for my 31 week check up today. BP was normal, doc said to keep my legs elevated whenever possible while at home. I also told him about my lower belly pressure and what it feels like slight cramps. He said it's most likely RLP as baby's going through yet another growth spurt. My muscles are going to stretch and I'll feel achy/sore. If I sleep on my sides, my soreness feels worse so I would sleep on my back, a little elevated. Doc said not to do that as it lessens the blood supply to baby and recommended to sleep on my left as much as possible (I'm sure you guys all knew this but me lol)!
I feel so much pressure on my lower belly that I'm scared I'll go into labor if I sneeze or cough - chucking it up to FTM paranoia bucket.

One of my friends warned me that water can make heartburn worse--it is one of the easiest things to reflux. Of, course, that doesn't help much because we have to drink lots of water! But some milk might help.

@ethiwen4 I think several people on this thread have mentioned pickle juice to help with heartburn. I tried it the other day and it actually worked pretty well!
I've officially hit the point of being hot all the time. Starting to really understand all the looks of sympathy over being pregnant in summer in Texas.
@mfuller76 me too! I got home from running errands and was so gross and sweaty. I put on a bathing suit and sat with my feet in the pool for the next hour while DD played. It's going to be a rough summer! I can't imagine getting bigger but I know it's happening.
@Mfuller76 and @LWC1112 I'm right there with you! It's already so hot and in the 90s where I live and I've reached the stage where I'm hot all the time in this pregnancy. And it's only going to get worse in July and August!
Total ditto to the "it's too dang hot, how am I going to make it to August" sentiment. Today I went to World Market, did some shopping, walked all of 2 ft to my car, drove to the mall, and walked maybe 3 min to get inside. And then decided to walk several more minutes to get a smoothie before a haircut, and to be honest, by the time I got to the hairdresser, I could have easily taken a nap instead. I was so warm, so tired, and so feeling like crap. And the high was like 90 and it's May. I'm just going to stop going outdoors come like... June. Pregnant in Texas in the summer is just going to suck. Womp womp womp!!!
I'm starting to feel the effects of the heat as well! I'm always hot, and even in the A/C at work yesterday, I felt like I was melting!! I felt marginally better on the drive home with the A/C in the car blowing on me, then I got home and realized HD hadn't put our window Air Conditioners in yet! Talk about hot! I'm trying not to complain about the heat, but being pregnant has made me so much more sensitive to it!
I think this could be my UO for this next week, but I loooove summer. It finally hit 80 here yesterday and even though it was humid, I sat outside and loved it! I will say I grew up in California and moved here to the Midwest in high school, so I think my body just naturally can't wait until winter is over. -30 degrees vs 85? That's a no brainier for me. I'm not happy unless my skin feels warm all over. Bring on the heat!!!

@midwestbaby I typically LOVE Summer too! I just don't like the feeling of being soaked with out swimming or showering. LOL I think body is just so sensitive to heat because of the hormones right now. I'm hoping to go swimming at my BIL's today.
@midwestbaby after all those storms passed yesterday and the humidity went away it was actually pretty nice out. Perfect for a camp fire!
I have been having some issues with it being hot and sleeping. I have been sleeping in just my underwear and wake up in the middle of the night sweating buckets. I actually had sweat running down my boob crease the other night and it wasn't even hot out!
@tmk0325 oh yuck, I definitely don't like being warm when sleeping. That storm was a fun way to wind down the day. It kinda blew in here out of no where. We sat out on the porch and watched it until it started to rain. A camp fire would have been perfect.

@ethiwen4 yes, the tailbone pain! So bad! I've been struggling with tailbone pain since way earlier than I would expect.
The tailbone pain has eased up since I stopped working, but when I do too much in a day, it's back. I did about 3 hours of yard/garden work today, came in to take quite a few breaks in that small amount of time, and drank plenty of water. But still, I'm hobbling around like an old lady! It aches on one side of my tailbone, hurts to step on that side, but not like sciatic pain. Weird.
Also annoying...Sleeping with my mouth open & waking up to the driest mouth I've ever had. Every night! My mouth feels weird because of it during the day now, because it is a desert in there. It's slightly better if I drink 3 glasses of water close to bed time but you all know what that means...
Insomnia you suck. I just can't sleep for whatever reason. Luckily since we have no plans today, a nap may be on the agenda. Does anyone else get the restless leg syndrome feeling?

Anyone else getting a really random bitter taste in their mouth? It's metallic, but doesn't taste coppery like blood does. I hate it! I don't know how to get rid of it!
@ethiwen4 I read that's a common symptom in the third tri. I haven't experienced the metallic taste yet, but I have had weird tastes popping up when I haven't eaten anything recently. It's really strange! Sometimes sucking on a peppermint helps.
@midwestbaby yes!! My legs get super crawly and I feel like I have to move them or keep moving them. So strange!
Ugh it's the worst! I find the only thing that helps is to get up and eat something and watch tv until I get sleepy again.

@midwestbaby yes! My legs drive me crazy some nights! I will toss and turn for what feels like hours because if I get up I know I won't be able to go back to sleep.
Re: Symptoms Thread
It can kinda hurt depending on how I sit and wipe myself.
I have an appt in a week-ish so I guess I'll ask if it's something they can remove.
