Do NOT keep using the pads your mom buys for you.  Get brave, go to the store, and look at the aisle of pads yourself and pick out something thin and absorbant... with wings.  (My mom bought the thickest freakin pads that you could practically see them through my jeans, BUT they leaked like crazy.  Middle school was a nightmare.)

    WAYDTGKU: Crossing my fingers?

R/R/CS: I appreciate all the responses from you all yesterday on whether or not I should temp. I decided I would start next cycle to give myself a full month of data, plus time for Amazon to deliver my Mabis.

Until I got home. H was not on board with the temping... I think he had a mini-freak out because of the "pressure" of TTC and told me he didn't want to have to force things or have sex become a job. I am trying to sympathize because honestly, I'm pretty dependent on his role in this thing.  ;) So.... no temping for now, I guess. I will give it some time and see how things go and then potentially broach the subject at a later time in the way you all presented it to me. But you know men.... they need lots of time to process these things. He's a biologist so all of this should appeal to him but I think he doesn't want to ruin the mood, if you know what I mean.

GTKY: You can go back in time to the day you got your first AF and give yourself one piece of advice...What do you tell yourself?

I'd tell myself to get on the pill sooner. I had horrible cramps/periods and didn't start the pill until the end of freshmen year of college, and AF became manageable again.

@MrsRoss89  I'm away this weekend (without H) and I'm hoping not to miss some important days, too. Isn't it crazy how that has become a concern in life now??

@mrsdaddario That does sound horrible, but I'll admit, I always wanted a sister. An older brother was ZERO help during that time of my life!

WAYDTGKU: nada at the moment outside of temping

R/R/CS: I am hopping over to this thread, and calling it CD3. I was having what I thought was some spotting since Sunday, but it hasn't stopped so I am going to assume I am just having a super light period that came early at this point. I'm keeping my FF app updated with my period, but leaving my other app (Ovia) as spotting just in case it stops at some point today. It's really odd because it's so, so minimal and I normally have zero spotting. Like, in years. I don't even know that it's enough to consider it a light flow. My temps have been really wonky the past few days, but I've had to travel to Asia for work and that always gets me all out of whack. I'm only here 2 more days so I guess that's the upside (and the downside...it's a long freaking trip for just a few days).

GTKY: Hmmm...I guess I am lucky in that I really don't have any issues with crazy flows, bad cramps, or anything to warn myself about. I guess I would say always keep a tampon in your purse because toilet paper diapers are never fun when you are caught unprepared LOL

@marriedhamstermom Have you played One Night Ultimate Werewolf? If you have a group of 6 or so it's a lot of fun. Depending on your character you're working with a group, against the group or you're just out for yourself, my family and I loved it.

R/R/CS: I just pulled 3 tent caterpillars off me and it was gross and now I have the creepy crawly feeling all over and it's not making for a pleasant morning.

GTKY: You can go back in time to the day you got your first AF and give yourself one piece of advice...What do you tell yourself? I was 11 but didn't tell my mom til I was almost 13 because I felt there was such a giant stigma to not talk about it. I would tell myself to just tell her and not to believe her when she said tampons were the devil.

WAYDTGKU: Started temping this morning. Waiting for AF to go away.

R/R/CS: Question on temping? I read the directions for my thermometer and it says to put it under the tongue, but way in the back of my mouth, like behind the molar teeth. But if it do that, it's not so comfortable and I'm eating the whole thermometer. Does it really need to go that far back? I ask because my reading today (not all the way back) was low 96.72. So I'm wondering if it was reading accurately enough. Also, I know I'm a mouth breather, which I know can make temps lower.

GTKY: You can go back in time to the day you got your first AF and give yourself one piece of advice...What do you tell yourself?

I have no clue. I got my period at 13. I had an older sister and my mom already told me all about it. I just wish it hadn't happened at school when I was unprepared.

GTKY: You can go back in time to the day you got your first AF and give yourself one piece of advice...What do you tell yourself?  I love this GTKY!  I got my first period when I was 12, I had gone away to sixth-grade camp but came back for a night because I was getting an award here in town.  That night I came home I got it.  I don't know what I would have done if I was away at camp.  Anyway, I would tell myself to at least pay a modicum of attention to how often I get my period.  That would be helpful information later.  I didn't go on BCP until I was 17, and I have no memory of what my period was like during those 5 years.

  • @swimsister we haven't played that one yet so thank you for the suggestion. Usually we can't find people to play with us, we tried starting a game night with some friends but all they wanted to play was party games like Cards Against Humanity. Party games are fine and fun and all but sometimes we like to play games where you really have to think which is why we are so excited about the new game place that opened by us!

@JediAlly85 - sometimes taking a step back can help. I know its a funk, but if that's what your need to do to de-stress, then it can be good for a month or two.

GTKY: You can go back in time to the day you got your first AF and give yourself one piece of advice...What do you tell yourself?  To make sure your period is actually over before you stop wearing pads. I had a few months when I thought it was over (super spotty flow when I first started), but then I would bleed later on in the day. A few very embarrassing trips to the nurses office taught me to wait a little longer.

WAYDTGKU: My response on here is normally just HIO, but we haven't even done that yet... and I should O any day now. Guess we should probably start doing that.

R/R/CS: I have the beginnings of a UTI. I think. Not really sure as I have only had one once and it was when I was an early teen, so I can't even remember what it felt like. But I really don't want to go to the doctor. And this makes sex really difficult because ow.

GTKY: You can go back in time to the day you got your first AF and give yourself one piece of advice...What do you tell yourself?
Don't bother with tampons or pads. Just buy a menstrual cup now instead of waiting (wait, did those even exist back then??).

@marriedhamstermom - PANDEMIC IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE! Have you played Pandemic Legacy? It's not an expansion like "In the Lab" or "On the Brink" etc. It starts out like the original Pandemic but it morphs as you play it. It's set up so you have to play with the same group of people, and it's designed to play once a month over the course of a year. You can't replay the game once it's over, as the board gets pretty destroyed with stickers and markers and stuff. But OHHHHH my gosh. So freaking fun. And it take Co-Op to a WHOLE new level. We don't play monthly because we are addicted. We play about every other week in replacement of our regular weekly game night.
Also recommend Flash Point which is a Co-Op and super hard... but we have only played twice, so maybe we just don't get it yet. I have a bunch of friends that prefer party games too (which are fun, but truly not the same). But we have won them over slowly starting with easy "real" games like Tsuro/Tsuro of the Seas, Ticket to Ride, The Resistance.. Etc.

Do you have any good game recommendations? We are always on the lookout!

R/R/CS: Had my HSG this morning and that really sucked... My right tube is blocked so now I need to decide if/when I go through with a hysteroscopy with selective catherization. I'm nervous because I've never been under anesthesia and I'm worried about the potential of more scarring. I originally was going to proceed next cycle with Letrozole and trigger but I don't know if it's worth "using up" those fertility meds if I only have one good looking tube. This paired with my PCOS feels like I'm losing the number game. *sigh* woe is me.

GTKY: You can go back in time to the day you got your first AF and give yourself one piece of advice...What do you tell yourself?

This is a hilarious GTKY! First off, hooray you're "normal". I was 16 when I got my first cycle and I seriously thought I was broken lol Also, don't be afraid of tampons!

  • @mrsdee15 big hugs do you.  I have been there before - long cycles while TTC is a nightmare.
    @Kirstin

    Month/Cycle:  2/2

    CD:  2 (so many 2’s!)

WAYDTGKU:  Nothing at the moment!  Waiting for AF to end.  Hubby will be going away soon but he will be back on CD 11 so hopefully that doesn’t screw with our timing.

R/R/CS:  I know that everybody and ever BODY is different, but does anyone want to share with me what their cycles were like after the BCP?  This first one was 28 days exactly, but I know I can’t expect that every month.  I want to make sure I give myself a reality check.

GTKY:  I had just turned 11, and I cried when I got it.  I was so upset.  I would tell myself that that first period was NOTHING compared to subsequent ones and to prepare more (since I was away at camp when I got in the second time – ulgh – horrible memories).

    WAYDTGKU: Sex. PV.

R/R/CS: Went to take DS to the sitters this morning (also known as my best friends house) and her driveway was completely under water. I had a made freak out cause I couldn't be late to work. Luckily her husband has a huge truck and was able to drive through the yard and grab my son from the road. DS was not happy we were breaking routine. Not a great start to the day.

GTKY: You can go back in time to the day you got your first AF and give yourself one piece of advice...What do you tell yourself? I was 8. It was incredibly embarrassing. Probably would have told myself to relax.

  • @mrsdaddario I was the older sister in my house. My little sister was awful. Once she took my diary to school and read it out loud in the hallway. We like each other now luckily.

@clover28 GOOD LUCK! You got this!

@hartmich We are both just starting this TTC journey. Happy to see someone else hanging out here with me. I almost chose not to temp starting out, but I like having control and knowing whats going on. Good luck!

@hopingforoneagain after BC my cycle went immediately back to normal. I never went back on after having DS, but when I first started TTC I went off BC after 9 years and it was crazy how quickly my body found a routine so it can happy! I have my fingers crossed its happening for you!

@ealasagna45 I'm sorry to hear you got bad news! FX this cycle starts to look up!

  • @EALasagna45 Oh that really stinks :( I'm sorry to hear about the blockage. I know how awful the hsg is, and I didn't even have any blockages. So I can only imagine how ultra painful it was! Hope you feel better soon.
  • Month/Cycle: 7/5

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, PNV, OPK, HIO

R/R/CS: My temps are really low, my OPKs are starting to get darker, but I have almost no CM!  I'm thinking I might be dehydrated from working outside all day yesterday, so I'm trying to hydrate extra today and see how things progress.

GTKY: You can go back in time to the day you got your first AF and give yourself one piece of advice...What do you tell yourself? Don't worry so much about what other people think.

  • First time posting so I hope I get this right!

    Month/Cycle 9/3

    CD: 2

WAYDTGKU: BBT, CM, letrozole (first time), IUI #1

R/R//CS: I have been lurking and finally got up the nerve to participate!
I do not feel old! I am on the higher end of the age spectrum and I do not feel old! My RE says I have young ovaries and my HSG was clear. The SA was good. But no luck this month - so IUI here we go. I am a bit scared. I know the success rates but it gets harder when stuff doesn't work each time. I start Letrozole tomorrow and it does feel good to be doing something. Either way I look forward to getting to know you all better.

GTKY: I was 12. It was July 3rd and we were camping! I would tell myself to buy lots of tampons and pads! Always have them!!!Always! In every purse!!!

I love board oars games too! Settlers and Ticket to Ride! I own Pandemic but we have not gotten to play it yet. How sad is that! Going to fix that soon..,

For co-op games Forrbidden Island is great! Changes every time and easy to teach new people. Shadows over Camelot is fun too and has a lot going on.
