R/R/CS: DH's work may or may not be taking us to Puerto Vallarta this year because of the whole Zika thing. They don't want to exclude people who may be trying to get pregnant/of childbearing potential, which is probably about 50% of the staff. I don't know what to think - it's probably a bad idea to risk it but I have never been bitten while there (they've taken us twice before at the same time of year, December) and I was really looking forward to the free vacation! Guess we'll see what they decide.
GTKY: What is your favorite clothing store? Modcloth, H&M, and Express for work, Target for basic tanks/tees and sleepwear. Old Navy has cute cheap stuff for summer too. Gap stocks some beautiful sweaters for fall and winter.
If anyone's looking for a swimsuit shop I just bought two new suits from Aerie, this one and this one, and I am impressed with the quality for such a cheap suit. I think they frequently run sales because they were "free bottoms when you buy a top" when I purchased, and all swimwear is 50% off now, which is basically the same Also, free shipping and returns!

Hi @hartmich! Yes, I felt that way at first but temping changed my life. I wish I had temp'd my first cycle TTC so that I actually knew when I ovulated or if I was even ovulating at all. Plenty of women temp while TTA as well. It's cycle awareness. Of all the signs, temping is the LEAST helpful in getting you to hit FW, which is your actual "trying". By the time you see a temp shift, it's usually too late and the FW is past. But it will make your TWW that much less mysterious/miserable. Maybe think of it that way. Do ittttt! Also, welcome!

R/R/CS: I had INSANE amounts of creamy cm last night. Which led me to question what I've been calling "creamy." I had clear cm which was kind of thick and creamy feeling, so I'd been marking that as creamy. But this stuff was your hand lotion white creamy. So was the other stuff watery? Watery is not as thick... right? Super confused right now.
Just waiting for CD 30. And reading everyone's stuff. Even if I don't say anything back, trust me I'm reading. I just don't usually know what to say.
GTKY: I am very large. I have struggled with my weight since about the age I should have started puberty. Instead of getting a period I got fat. So I don't really have a place I can just go buy clothes. Amazon is a place I shop sometimes. My favorite shirts all came from specialty stores. I've got some clothes from walmart but they are like tents and ill-fitting.

@jatwal128 I know! I clicked on my own links and ended up adding two new suits to my cart! Which is silly because I just bought three (two from aerie and one from anthro) last week. But I hadn't bought a suit since 2005 so I guess I'm making up for lost time!
@hartmich I totally get where you're coming from but I'll echo @virginiaham - think of it as fertility awareness. I like knowing when I o'd - no matter how good/bad our timing - so I don't get my hopes up during the tww as I wait on af. I think we tried 4 months before I started temping and that was just too much excitement --> letdown rollercoaster for me. Temping keeps me sane because I know when it's reasonable to test. And if I get a bfn on 12dpo - and I know it's 12dpo for sure - it's easier to digest / not question it. Plus, and I hope this is not the case for you!, if you do have t-ttc it's more data to bring to a doctor later. In that case you KNOW that you hit the right timing and it's still not happening. I think using OPKs is more indicative of "trying" than temping. But don't be afraid to just have fun this first cycle if that's what you want!!
@coonmom I don't know if you'd get a sincere apology out of her, but it couldn't hurt to bring it up when you're alone. You're somewhat close, she's a work friend so you have to see her every day, so I think it would help to just say, "Maybe you didn't realize it, but it really hurt my feelings that you didn't tell me the news in private before telling everyone else." And this sounds horrible, but I think the longer you go without talking to her the more she's going to chalk it up to you being jealous or bitter about her bfp (I do not think you are! It's just my impression of how others see those with t-ttc) and not your feeling betrayed within the friendship, which was the real problem.

@hartmich Chart. You won't regret it. It's just peace of mind. Also if you're like me and have a 45 day cycle it's peach of mind, and if you get KU on a 45 day cycle you can say to your doctor logically "I know it's been 6 weeks since LMP, but I'm really more like 4 cause my body sucks
@marriedhamstermom that sounds like so much fun! I wish DH was into games period so we could start doing game nights or something at our house. @KirstinH88 I do that too. The first month I felt completely crazy for doing it but now it actually helps me cope a bit with a new cycle. GTKY: What is your favorite clothing store? New York & Co hands down. I love them because it's one of the rare stores where I feel like things fit my curves really well. So many other places I shop it takes me forever to find something that will make butt and boobs look good but also camouflage belly. I also love my local thrift store.

Hmm it could be if you don't have long cycles. For me, with longer cycles and O around/after CD20, not at all. I've sometimes skipped temping until CD14. It's totally your preference but definitely stick around and read/chart stalk this month whatever you decide to do. I think you'll learn a lot!

@meilay@Daisy621 totally right. It does soften the blow of the AF. I also love day-dreaming (baby-dreaming) about when we would tell people and what events are going on near the due date, etc. I try not to look up more than the EDD of the current month, because I want to get KU this month! ASAP! Although, depending on EDD, it might be better to wait another month.
WAYDTGKU: Planning to order more OPKs. Hopefully the OPKs that don't come with the HCG tests are as good! I won't start testing til probably CD14 since my shortest cycle since we started was 53 days long... good times
R/R/CS: ***TW*** I had to do a 2nd beta draw on Sunday and my number was down to 6. My OB wanted to do one more draw to make sure it goes below 5 but I'm not going to bother since I'm still bleeding some. At this point, I trust my body. I feel so incredibly frustrated now having to start over because of how long my cycles are. I keep getting told at least I am able to conceive, but it does not make it any better. The long wait is such a mindf*ck, it's why I chose not to temp.
GTKY: What is your favorite clothing store? Kohl's and Target are my go to stores! I am a sucker for good bargains, especially Kohl's 30% off coupons and Target's cartwheel deals.
@pshaortao I get your feeling about when they say "at least you are able to conceive." I had a MC in March and got the same thing. But what good is conceiving if it doesn't end in a baby to bring home and love on? Isn't that why we are all on this board? Not just to conceive (although that is the first step). Sorry your cycles and therefore your wait is so long. I will keep my FX for you.

If anyone's looking for a swimsuit shop I just bought two new suits from Aerie, this one and this one, and I am impressed with the quality for such a cheap suit. I think they frequently run sales because they were "free bottoms when you buy a top" when I purchased, and all swimwear is 50% off now, which is basically the same

R/R/CS: I've been debating charting w/BBT since I first found this board and read TCOYF. I haven't bitten the bullet yet and I think the reason why is because then I'm admitting to myself that we're "trying" and if we're "trying" and don't get pregnant, then I'm also "failing". I know that logically this is stupid, but I just can't click the buy button on Amazon. Anyone else ever feel this way?

I had clear cm which was kind of thick and creamy feeling, so I'd been marking that as creamy. But this stuff was your hand lotion white creamy. So was the other stuff watery? Watery is not as thick... right? Super confused right now.

@jatwal128 I know! I clicked on my own links and ended up adding two new suits to my cart! Which is silly because I just bought three (two from aerie and one from anthro) last week. But I hadn't bought a suit since 2005 so I guess I'm making up for lost time!
@hartmich I totally get where you're coming from but I'll echo @virginiaham - think of it as fertility awareness. I like knowing when I o'd - no matter how good/bad our timing - so I don't get my hopes up during the tww as I wait on af. I think we tried 4 months before I started temping and that was just too much excitement --> letdown rollercoaster for me. Temping keeps me sane because I know when it's reasonable to test. And if I get a bfn on 12dpo - and I know it's 12dpo for sure - it's easier to digest / not question it. Plus, and I hope this is not the case for you!, if you do have t-ttc it's more data to bring to a doctor later. In that case you KNOW that you hit the right timing and it's still not happening. I think using OPKs is more indicative of "trying" than temping. But don't be afraid to just have fun this first cycle if that's what you want!!
@coonmom I don't know if you'd get a sincere apology out of her, but it couldn't hurt to bring it up when you're alone. You're somewhat close, she's a work friend so you have to see her every day, so I think it would help to just say, "Maybe you didn't realize it, but it really hurt my feelings that you didn't tell me the news in private before telling everyone else." And this sounds horrible, but I think the longer you go without talking to her the more she's going to chalk it up to you being jealous or bitter about her bfp (I do not think you are! It's just my impression of how others see those with t-ttc) and not your feeling betrayed within the friendship, which was the real problem.

@mrsdaddario Beautiful peonies. I'm short too and finding short pants can be a challenge! Gap makes great work pants in "ankle length" that are almost perfect, Lucky and Hudson make short length jeans that are awesome.

WAYDTGKU: Planning to order more OPKs. Hopefully the OPKs that don't come with the HCG tests are as good! I won't start testing til probably CD14 since my shortest cycle since we started was 53 days long... good times
R/R/CS: ***TW*** I had to do a 2nd beta draw on Sunday and my number was down to 6. My OB wanted to do one more draw to make sure it goes below 5 but I'm not going to bother since I'm still bleeding some. At this point, I trust my body. I feel so incredibly frustrated now having to start over because of how long my cycles are. I keep getting told at least I am able to conceive, but it does not make it any better. The long wait is such a mindf*ck, it's why I chose not to temp.
GTKY: What is your favorite clothing store? Kohl's and Target are my go to stores! I am a sucker for good bargains, especially Kohl's 30% off coupons and Target's cartwheel deals.
