I'll start! I spend the better part of my time this weekend roasting in the hot sun, working on my tan. I did clean up the garden shed a bit, but in term of house work and accomplishing anything I didn't do a thing. I did enjoy my lazy time out in the yard watching my girls play.

Our weekends are always crazy busy, this past weekend we actually had nothing scheduled but the weather was crap--in the 50s and rain (and even snow at one point!). Anyways, on Sat I taught my gym class and we did some running around shopping and errands. Yesterday we took DD to her little gym class then visited my mom. Nice little weekend just wish the weather had been better.
We've been getting the house ready for my mother's visit on Friday and also for the babies arrival. We redid one room in our house to make a home office/den. Thes are all the things we've been putting off since we bought the house, we are finally tackling them and getting everything done. It was nice to scratch off a few things on our "to-do" list! Hopefully one of these weekends we can actually relax. Looking forward to Memorial Day weekend, we have a nice 6 day break!
Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
We spent the weekend moving and packing. We have our new sectional and bed being delivered today, and the U-Haul rented for next Saturday. Tonight will be our first night there so we'll be bringing the dogs over, but someone helping this weekend packed their leashes *facepalm*
I've been pretty MIA on here the past couple of days because we've been super busy! I keep up with TB but I don't always have time to post. We had our A/S on Thursday (which was amazing!) and DH took the day off so we could make the 5 hour drive to see my parents and tell them the sex. We stopped at DH's parents on the way. Then Saturday we came to NY for a spa day with my mom, aunts and cousins which was so much fun, and to tell the rest of my family the sex of the baby. We've been running around nonstop! We'll be here until Thursday and then make the 6 hour drive back. Exhausting but fun weekend!
@LGW2015 A spa day sounds like heaven!! I'm getting a prenatal massage tomorrow, but right after I have to run to get my son from school and then run errands all day. No fun! Lol
I had a relaxing weekend. Talked to my manager on Friday about how being back on the salon has been a lot harder on me than I expected. She said she's definitely noticed and immediately gave me Saturdays off. Permanently. Even though that's my big money day, it's a huge relief. Weekends are far to chaotic and I can't keep up. So I spent my Saturday relaxing and got some time with my husband.
Sunday we we went to my parent's for dinner like we always do. They took us out for an amazing sushi dinner to celebrate my graduation. We ended up in East Lansing, which was fun. I haven't been there since I dropped out of Michigan State. It was fun to show my husband and son my old dorm and some of the places I used to go when I was in college. The community college I just graduated from was much less exciting to show off. Lol
Saturday was spent getting my daughters crib changed to a toddler bed and moving furniture around for the future nursery. Sunday was shopping at ikea and playing outside
Everyone is accusing me of nesting all weekend but the goons all forget I'm a major planner/prepper and ALWAYS jump in with two feet when big stuff is coming. My project due date (must have things in order in case of bed rest or other drama) is July and that's swiftly approaching the 50 days until here mark. I just have a family of procrastinators!
The nursery is painted with the base coat and on Sunday I hit Lowe's to pick up the paints for the mountain mural and then spent most of the day laundering all the hand-me-down clothes, sorting them by size, and putting them in appropriate drawers. Now I'm on the search for a nice drawer divider system for the sock/leggings/hat/hair ribbon drawer and also an affordable but cute (and not all pink) bow headband making kit because I decided I'm going to do an anatomy reveal at the shower by bringing my own "game" to play where anyone who wants to can make a signature hair bow since God knows no babies in his or my family seem to have any hair until they're 2.
This Saturday was my niece's senior prom! My husband and I drove the over 3 hours round trip to see her and take pictures with her and she was so glad we came. She looked gorgeous and had a great time.
Sunday was spent cooking dinner for my two best friends - one of whom had a baby last month, and the other who just got matched with a residency at Harvard and will be moving in two weeks. I'm so happy for her but I'm going to miss her so much!
Saturday we attempted to go find a used a double stroller, but failed because all the 2nd hand shops down town are closed on Saturdays, DOH. Pregnancy brain failed to look up the store hours... but I got an ice cream out of the deal. And then we had friends over later in the evening, my LO is 9 months and my friend's LO is 12 months so I had fun watching them.try to figure each other put since neither had ever been around another baby before haha Yesterday we went to another one of my friend's birthday cookout. His dad is from Mexico, and may I just say Mexicans throw the BEST cookouts! Had a great time, haven't been around any of my friends in a good long while so it was nice We bought him a cool t-shirt and some awesome socks and wrapped his gift box in masking and electrical tape. Made him work for the goods haha
Cleaned my entire house top to bottom. Picked out paint, re-registered at BRU (highly recommend, the new gift bag is wayyyyyy better), and finally agreed on nursery layout.
I did baby stuff all weekend. Except not for mine! I was invited to 3 baby showers and a baptism. Made it to one baby shower (only because the other 2 were out of town) on Saturday and then went to the baptism on Sunday. It was a weekend of celebrating friends' babies and got me so excited for our future celebrations!

@nlane0723- I'm going to register this weekend. Will the gift bag still be the same?
I went and got my hair done on Saturday and when I got home DH was out in the hammock so we snuggled up in that an took a nap. It was wonderful! On Sunday, we went to a minor league baseball game, then cookout and games with friends. It was kind of a perfect weekend
So that's pretty much it, but in the spirit of "GTKY," I'll elaborate. My MIL (flash back to the Knot with that abbreviation!) works for the local Ford dealership and she gets me in on car part inventories on weekends. It's the perfect weekend gig- completely mindless and pays well. I had an inventory Saturday from 7am til 5pm and one Sunday from 7am til 2pm. And POOF- the weekend was over.
Oh I forgot, I did get a pedicure Saturday after the inventory. It was glorious!
We celebrated our one year anniversary in Atlantic City! It's actually today, but figured we'd toast it over the weekend (him with wine, me with a fizzy N/A drink!). Spent a couple hours on the beach before dressing up a for a fun dinner, followed by a little gambling...and in bed by midnight! Nice to have a night away just the two of us, though. Hard to believe it's already been a year! Next weekend is back to baby prep.
We had a major baby day on Friday - anatomy scan, daycare visit, and dinner with someone due 4 days after me, so by Saturday we were ready to just be a couple again. We went to the gym, ran some errands, hung out with single, non-pregnant friends, and cooked for the week. We also napped because it was snowing outside!
Saturday we had a big annual BBQ & Music festival in my hometown - I always look forward to this! There are about 20 BBQ restaurants from all over Texas set up and you can just walk around & get samples all day. It's glorious! A few of my favorite bands played too, loved it. I was sad to miss out on the craft beer tastings, but I made up for it by getting a giant snow cone!
I did realize at one point that I was too old/sober/pregnant to deal with all the twenty-somethings in their cut-off shorts, cowboy boots, itty-bitty shirts, and matching ray bans, ugh. One of them ran into me & didn't say excuse me and I got rage-y. No ma'am, not acceptable. She got an earful. Which was better than what happened to a friend of hers. (I'm going on a rabbit trail here but bear with me!) Another friend of mine was standing in a crowd of people & a guy dropped his full beer, which proceeded to splash up, under her dress & made quite the mess. Beer was literally running down her legs. My friend was like, "Really?!" after the guy didn't apologize, and the girl he was with just laughed and said, "Get over it bitch!" Soo...my friend went & got a cup of ice water, went back to the crowd, and tapped the girl on the shoulder, and when she turned around, she proceeded to dump the entire cup of water on her head. Her perfectly curled, every hair in place, head. She started throwing a tantrum and my friend said, "Get over it bitch" and walked away. Greatness! This actually made my day.
We went on a hike this weekend, then on Sunday we tried out strollers at Buy Buy Baby....it was a madhouse! Everyone else had the same idea, so everyone was trading the bean bag babies around to try out the strollers haha. We couldn't fold and unfold half of them, so I figured that's just a look into our future of failing miserably with baby accessories hahaha.
I regularly work weekends (and take Wednesday off) but its not like they are full days and I basically make my own schedule. Though I made Sunday a clothes clean up day, which is a HUGE project when are 46 infants and toddlers in a home. Getting all the clothes put away in the correct rooms is apparently too difficult for the staff and I always get crazy over it til I do it myself.
But a huge plus was one of our little girls adoption was finalized. Technically she left today but her new mama was around all day Sunday with her. It's always a happy/sad day knowing we'll miss them but they belong in a family.
@daisy19782011, that just gave me a major flashback to Zoobilee Zoo!! Maybe I'm dating myself here but it was this amazing tv show that was on when I was probably pre-school age... I think it only ran for 3 seasons but man I loved that show!

DH didn't get a job on Friday we really wanted him to get (we've heard it is because they don't know if he would put too much priority on the baby instead of work). He's been really down in the dumps and so I tried to get him moving. We did a lot of yard work Saturday and Sunday, and I replanted some hostas and DH and I made a new garden strip for some sunflowers. I did grocery shopping yesterday and we devoured some cupcakes. Of course, we finished the weekend off with GoT and Penny Dreadful.
Friday, I went to pick up the used Bugaboo Bee I found on offerup during my lunch break... After work, I did a barre class, then went to pick up SO at work.
Saturday, we had our anatomy scan. Then went to pick up my stepkids and headed to a beach bonfire for a friend's 30th.
Sunday morning, I went to a spin/pilates class and then we strung up the deck lights. I am so ready for the summer, and so over these cold May Gray days.
Ready for some lovely dinner parties and warm summer nights!
Wow, stuff-doers! I went to a graduation party for my cousin's kid on Saturday and nothing else really (goofed off). Sunday worked on end-of-semester paperwork. Still on that today =/
I had to work all weekend. When I had DD I cut back to only working weekends and staying at home during the week. I'm a nurse at a jail and it was a busy weekend. The struggle is real for some of the people I saw. One woman was released at 10 am and managed to get arrested again by 2 pm. Another guy was trying to win the best dramatic performance of chest pain award, but failed miserably when he refused testing because he didn't want me to shave his chest hair. Plus he fell asleep for a while in the middle of his performance. It was a busy weekend, but at least it's always interesting at work
This weekend was full of baby stuff! My parents and sister came up to find out the gender. We had our normal check up Friday morning, followed by the elective ultrasound. It was so special sharing it with them since this is their first grandchild. The rest of the weekend with them was spent eating out and doing lots of shopping. I got some new maternity clothes, and baby got a swing and a crib. It was a great weekend with family and now I am even more excited for this little one to be here!
Boring weekend at work. I was orienting a new nurse do at least that was fun. DH was out in Vegas for the weekend. His best bro turned 30 so naturally they needed to go to the other side of the country to celebrate. Highlight of my weekend, hands down GoT!
Fri- picked out paint samples for the nursery and a long overdue pedicure! Sat- hibachi with my sister/BIL and husband where she gave me a HUGE bag of maternity clothes. So thankful for having a sister who wears the same size as me/already was pregnant. At night we went to NY to meet my inlaws at a restaurant where the wait is always over an hr and they don't take reservations. Baby and I were starving by the time we sat down at 9! Sun- went to IKEA to take advantage of the family discount on Hemnes dressers- using the 8 drawer one in the nursery as our changing table.
Work work work! Both days were busy but Sunday was insane. The client who kept my coworker hostage on Friday magically got out of the hospital Sunday morning. He then proceeded to get meth'd out and fell out of his wheel chair and dragged his ass out into the building hallway and screamed at people as they got on and off the elevator. I took my coworker up with me and called 911 for him (nothing else I could/would do).
Other than that, we really didn't do much. I went grocery shopping. That's it.
Saturday- actually slept in a little til we got a message that we got the rental house we've been badly hoping for! We're moving closer to family in July and houses have been flying off the market especially rentals, and this guy said he'd been getting almost 10 calls a day, so it's been a little source of stress for me because I didn't want to be stuck come July with no decent options. It's all newly- and nicely-upgraded, huge fenced in yard for our dog, super friendly owner/landlord, and at a STEAL for monthly rent = happy parents-to-be!
Then later in the day we went to the graduation for the high school DH works for. Then left to go to his family's/our friends' town 4 hrs away for our gender reveal.
Sunday- Met up with my BFF for breakfast who couldn't attend the party and gave her the secret gender news first. Then my family came into town for the party and we showed both sides the new rental house. THEN came time for gender reveal! We still haven't told our families that we've known since 13 weeks, and we probably won't (we claimed the doctor mailed the bakery, and we totally faked our surprised faces at the cake color) We just wanted to keep a little secret, sweet, private token for ourselves in all this public craziness!
Saturday, I had rehearsal and then the symphony concert to end the season. Sunday, we went to both churches (I play for one, and then we go to one together). After, we went maternity clothes shopping with some birthday gift cards, had a meeting at church and went out for dinner together. H doesn't always have weekends off from his evening retail job, but this time he did, so it was nice to be together.
@anna.oskar I'm in the same boat as you with the planning and project due date lol. I keep trying to get on DH's case about getting stuff done, but he's been so busy at work. So yesterday I spent the day organizing and cleaning and moving the things I can. And when he got home from work (on his day off) we went to get paint samples. I'm gonna get started with those this evening! I AM SO EXCITED! lol
Our weekends are Sunday Monday, so Saturday I worked and then went shopping for a new bathing suit and realized that apparently because I'm pregnant I now need to wear bright prints and florals. I'm more of a black and flannel type of girl. WTF. After a couple store fails, I went up to the lady at destination maternity and was like "Do you have any bathing suits in PLAIN BLACK?" Luckily they had ONE, and it fit and was cute enough. Mine.
Sunday we took a day trip to Catalina Island to visit my friends who lives there. We had a lovely day gallivanting around the backside of the island before stopping in to say hi with some other friends, hitting up one of my fav burger places there and heading home.
It was a holiday weekend in Germany so I spent 4 days visiting my college best friend in Prague. It was soooo wonderful seeing her - she is such an incredible and positive person. Also dragged my bump over 20 miles seeing all the sights AND got hit on by a smoking 25-year-old Englishman in a bar. I smoothly passed him on to a friend who was with us (didn't think "5 months pregnant and married with a dog" was the tree he was trying to bark up, haha). Long story short - WONDERFUL weekend
