I hate having pets. I don't hate animals, in fact I enjoy them, but I do not do litter boxes or house training puppies, it's NOT my thing. Needless to say we have none, and my husband and 3 year old are constantly bugging me for a puppy. I refuse.

ETA- my picture is of my brothers puppy which I babysat for a few hours for him, not my dog.

@Schell2013 - as someone who owns a dog walking company (and has raised two dogs since they were 8 weeks old), I TOTALLY agree with you. Puppies are hard, and when you have small kids? Forget it. They require so much time to train correctly, and I can't tell you how many clients I have that are suuuuper frustrated with their "crazy" dog. They never put in the time when it was a cute little puppy they just HAD to have, and now they have no idea why it's nuts. Ugh.

That being said -- adopt an older dog!! It's the perfect compromise. They're generally lower energy and still have lots of love to give. And many are already trained!

Yup I got a little puppy fix when my brother and his family for their lab, but wow they are a pile of work. I've looked into adoption but unfortunately since I have small kids that's almost never an option to get approved. I can realistically only have a small dog that my yard would allow, cause I know full well I wouldn't get out enough to walk the energy off a big one.

  • I refuse to love-tit HDBD posts from chicks I never see anywhere else on this board. It's my own (probably unnoticeable) way of slapping those AW's on the wrist lol.
I always crop mine, so nobody sees my stupid looking face when I'm trying to get a good selfie in the mirror! But the boob thing never crossed my mind! LOL

  • I'm just overly annoyed so I'm gonna share. Not sure if this actually qualifies for FFFC, but......

I just told my coworker I was just tired and ready for the weekend, when really she annoyed the hell out of me this morning so I don't want to chat with her now.  >:)

  • Lol soooo yeah I could never figure out why there is an extra T in it for when you love something on here. For months I've been trying to figure out why it's a tit and now to find out there is no reason for the T in front, my whole life is a lie!!
  • @krzyriver I'm with you on that. I don't think I've posted much at all in weeks and I think, for me, it's just because it's my third baby, I've been here, done this, had all of these discussions and I just find myself scrolling by a lot of it. But I also feel like an asshole for not appreciating it more because I know it's my last. Meh.

  • @LauraPCOS and @sportiegrl1213 That was going to be my FFFC!  I also read the page of abbreviations but I can't keep them straight... (I only know that FFFC contains Friday and Confession). Plus, I'm also an English nerd, so I hate abbreviating anything. Just a personal pet peeve of mine.  Even my texts have everything spelled out. I just prefer to use the entire word instead of a shortened version.  I used to Google all the abbreviations, but now I just make up meanings in my head... :)
  • I agree with the boredom thing. I felt like I posted more on the Knot when planning my wedding rather than sitting here wanting to gush over my pregnancy.

  • @bamacoop Ugh, me too. I hate when people ask me about my pregnancy, which is probably the other big reason I'm bored with preggo talk.

I actually do think about my pregnancy every moment of every day and it causes a lot of stress. So I want people to talk to me about something else so that I can be a normal person for 5 seconds instead of "the pregnant lady."

  • My mom just offered to "help" us with the move, but I'm hoping that she just backs out because all she'll do is bitch all day and I don't want to hear it.

I'm also on the bandwagon of being annoyed when people ask how I feel being pregnant. Especially when they aren't someone I converse with on a daily basis, that's why I'm kind of glad my fat is still hiding my bump.
  • I'm eating fried chicken wings and cheesy garlic bread sticks for lunch today. I have IBS and the baby made me lactose intolerant. I know I'm going to feel awful all day but I don't care. I am so sick of healthy crap.

PGAL is Penis Girls All Love right?? Lol
It stands for Pregnant After a Loss. Which wouldn't have been too hard to deduce by reading a few posts.
Yeah I figured it out after I posted once. Which, in case I felt bad I posted there. My apologies.

This. Also, considering the true meaning of that particular acronym, that made me a little uncomfortable... and I'm not even PGAL.

  • I'm a little on the opposite side of pregnancy questions. Maybe it's because I'm a FTM and I'm also one of those people who gets excited about everything. I don't mind talking about it when people want to, though I try to not be the one to bring it up 24/7 so people don't get bored of it.

But I do hate the question "how is the baby doing today?" Well I only feel the baby every couple of days and it doesn't exactly talk to me, so I guess it's doing pretty well?!

Ha, I want to give a similar response sometimes! ... like when people ask "What's your dog's name?" ... I *really* want to say "I don't know he hasn't told me yet" just for fun!
  • As a FTM, I really didn't like people telling me "Happy Mother's Day" and I still don't like when my friends or coworkers call me mom, momma, etc.  It's just weird and awkward.  I told my DH this and he said I couldn't call him daddy, that our LO will call him dad and I would be called mum, but he wouldn't refer to me as mommy or mummy.  Nicknames are weird.

I'm a FTM too, but I also don't really like it when people call me Mommy or Mom.

First of all... I'm not your mom, so I'm not Mommy to you.

Second of all... I have a name, and it's not Mom. You know what it is. Use it. I didn't stop being me when I got pregnant.

I'm not sure why things like that bother me so much. I'm pretty conservative on lots of things, including being super excited to become a wife and a mother. But I'm not one of those women that will wrap my whole identity of myself into being Mom. Being Mom will be one (big) aspect of my life, but I'm also still a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a lover of books, fried chicken, historical documentaries, and political debate.

I guess I'm annoyed that people are already finding nothing to talk to me about besides my being pregnant, because I'm afraid that means when the baby's born they'll find nothing to talk to me about besides being a mom. And I'll just be sitting there like "Yeah, yeah, the baby started crawling yesterday, super cute, but also I just watched this super interesting documentary about the history of the toilet, and man, that thing was deep."

(True story... that history of the toilet documentary is on YouTube and was actually really super interesting to me!)
