    When was your scan? Yesterday

How far along were you? 20w

How did it go?  Very well, baby cooperated and they got all the pictures they needed. I had a bad feeling towards the end of the u/s when she was taking photos of my cervix. So I am paranoid now. I called and talked to my nurse this morning and she assured me she would call as soon as she can with the findings/readings. So here I sit waiting.

Did you learn anything new about you or baby? It's a Boy!!!

How did it go? Baby looks perfect

Did you learn anything new about you or baby?  Our oldest son got his wish and is now having a sister!!! So we will have two wonderful big brothers for our newest addition.

How far along were you? 20 weeks exactly

How did it go? Mostly great. We found out it's a boy! Her had all of his pieces and parts, and is measuring on track. However there was a "white spot" they saw on his heart so they are referring me to pediatric cardiologist for a better look. Doc said he thinks it's just a calcium deposit and not to worry since all my genetic screening came back good. But it's hard not to think the worst! Hoping for a healthy boy and that this turns out to be nothing. Anyone have any experience with this?

  • When was your scan? Yesterday

How far along were you? 20 weeks & 3 days

How did it go? Great! Doctor said our baby girl looks great. (We found out at 14 weeks we're having a girl from the cell free DNA test) Baby was very cooperative for the u/s tech to get all of her measurements.. Everything is measuring as it should. She is 14oz. and in the 84th percentile :) I have to go back in 2 weeks and 4 weeks for a transvag scan of my cervix to measure thickness just as a precaution because I delivered preterm with my other two children (36 & 37 weeks - 14 & 12 years ago). I was given the choice to start an injection (by syringe) once a week every week for the reminder of the pregnancy. OUCH. lol I chose not to start them since my preterm labor wasnt terribly early. Instead, if it looks like my cervix is starting to thin they will give me something to insert vaginally every day for the remainder of the pregnancy instead. That sounds better to me :)
  • camichael84  They called me the following day and are referring me to a Perinatologist (sp) for a level II to check again. Really hoping for good news in 3 weeks when I go.
  • When was your scan? Today at 7:30 am!

How far along were you? 20w 5d

How did it go? It went well. The tech was great at explaining what she was doing and what she we were looking at. It was great to see all of our little ones working parts. We haven't gotten the official results yet (our OB wasn't able to look at the scans prior to our OB appointment, which was immediately after the u/s), but our doc said that they would typically flag her if there was something majorly concerning. She basically told us that no news is good news! We were also able to remain team green, which I am excited about! I had a dream a few nights ago that it accidentally got spoiled, but no spoilings here!

Did you learn anything new about you or baby? I learned that he or she is not always super cooperative and definitely might be a little bit lazy ;) The baby just would not flip over onto his or her side making it tough to get the last spinal shots. We were able to get them after a lot of rocking, poking and prodding, but it sure took a while!
  • @MammaJams I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry yet and try to focus on the fact that everything else looks good. Babies come in all different shapes and sizes, so certain things measuring off is normal. Especially on an u/s that can't give a 100% clear picture of what is going on. Sending good thoughts that it was a measuring error or a case like mine where your LO just has a smaller sized head.

  • @blondie080300 and @camichael84 I just had my follow up and they were not worried at all. No pelvic rest and my next u/s is at 32 weeks.

  • I had my Scan a few weeks back and posted on here...but today i meat with my OB to further discuss the results.  To recap i had the following "issues"
    1. calcium deposit in baby's heart--brushed off at time of scan...and OB confirmed it's nothing to worry about
    2. Secondary Lob of the placenta--slightly brushed off at time of scan, but really worried me...OB confirmed this is nothing to worry about at all.
    3. Poor cord placement--At time of scan it was said that blood flow could be slower to baby and would require growth scans every 4 weeks to make sure baby is growing.
So item #3 was the main topic of today's appointment...and i got the official medical term, Velamentous Cord Insertion.  So not only is the cord not in the best location, the 3 "threads" of the cord are actually spread out instead of tightly wrapped together. My doctor assured me that all of her patients who have had this condition delivered healthy babies.  So i'm trying to remain optimistic and as she said it, it's not really a problem until it becomes a problem...meaning baby is growing just fine for now, and is just something we need to monitor to make sure things remain fine.  She also assured me that i should most likely be able to have a vaginal birth (especially because this isn't vasa previa, which is similar to placenta previa...my placenta seems to be very high up and away from the cervix).  I guess i'm just wondering if any one else has been diagnosed with this in their current pregnancy or previous pregnancies?  Do you know any one who has had this?  If so, how did things go? Did you end up being induced early or have to have a c-section?

I don't have any personal experience with this but did see it during my nursing clinicals. The baby was born completely healthy but was a repeat c-section. They explained to us that as long as it is monitored the mother can try for vaginally if the position of the cord is favorable. Hope everything works out well for you!!
  • @LakeR2014 yay for team green! I'm glad it went well!

    When was your scan? Today!

How far along were you? 19 + 6

How did it go? Well I think. They got all the images they needed and baby boy showed us his stuff. I watched the measurements on the screen and everything was measuring around 20w plus or minus a few days. Other than that the technician didn't tell us anything so hopefully all is well

Did you learn anything new about you or baby? I learned that I have a very fast filling bladder. Also learned that baby is a mover and a shaker

  • When was your scan?   5/9

How far along were you?  22 weeks

How did it go? Really good, the tech was super nice and explained everything as she was measuring.  Baby is measuring 4 days ahead.

Did you learn anything new about you or baby? Apparently she has really long arms, they were measuring 24+ weeks.  I'm assuming that's normal as the neither the tech nor the dr. said anything about it being abnormal.

  • @cassloumy My first was that way, and then she ended up being an amazing sleeper when she was on the outside, too! Glad you got all the shots you needed even if she didn't want to move.

  • Anatomy scan today @ 20 weeks.

OB said everything looks good, no concerns at this time.

Baby was belly down and did not want to flip over so the tech said "it might be a girl "
Seriously?  MIGHT be???  Aggravating but at 28 weeks they do another ultrasound where they give you more pics and make a little video of the baby moving around. She said she'll try checking then to see if baby is indeed a girl.
  • When was your scan? This morning! 5/11

How far along were you? 20w 3d

How did it go? Tech said everything looks good structurally and results should be going to doctor...sounded good!

Did you learn anything new about you or baby? Haha, baby is a wriggler! He was giving us a little show :)

    A/s today (5/11)

    20w on the dot.

All went great. Confirmed assumption that placenta is anterior. babe is measuring a few days ahead. Feeling very relieved.
  • I got a call from my Dr ttoday that she has a cyst on her brain, anyone have experience with this? I wish I would've asked where but didn't think. Everything I've read is reassuring, but still, the brain though. MFM should call tomorrow to set up a follow up appointment for another scan.
  • @MrsVoorhees The tech said the same thing at our anatomy scan yesterday. She told me that it's nothing to be alarmed about, that it typically goes away around 28-30 weeks, and as long as there aren't any other abnormalities or concerns, that it's really not anything worry about. Of course, being a FTM there's always a little bit of concern in the back of my head about something "irregular" but she did a pretty good job of explaining that it's really nothing to be worried about.

    How did it go?
It went pretty well. We were so happy to finally be able to see baby!  The tech was able to determine baby's sex but I won't know until Saturday at our BaBy Q. My husband knows and is loving every second of it haha
Did you learn anything new about you or baby?
My placenta is mostly anterior but I starting to feel much more movement lately. Baby is measuring 8 days ahead. I have a follow up scan in a few weeks because baby wouldn't cooperate and they want to recheck their left leg to rule out a club foot. A little nerve wracking but everything else is healthy/normal so we're feeling blessed!
  • When was your scan? Yesterday, 5/11

How did it go? Great! Baby looks healthy and it was fun seeing *obvious* proof he's a boy! I know the genetic tests are accurate, but there's something about seeing...

Did you learn anything new about you or baby? @jhems776 I was also surprised at how high up baby's head was, I didn't expect the tech's wand to move that high. His feet were hammering my bladder.

  • @runningisrad I wish we would've done one this time but I'm just too impatient! Congrats on your boy!!

My ultrasound was this past Wednesday (19 weeks and 6 days). It was about a 1/2 hr. The tech didn't talk to me or let me see the images until the end of the process. When we asked her to tell us the gender, she showed us, and told us that it looked like a girl, but didn't sound too confident and wouldn't tell us how sure she was. She gave us only a few pictures. Four of the face straight on and one of the foot. I was looking forward to the profile and full body shot you always see. Didn't even get to see that on the screen. We did see baby move some and hear the heart beat again. I see my doctor this Wednesday to go over the results. I also go back the Wednesday after that for more pics since baby didn't turn to show the spine. Hopefully I will have a better experience next time.
  • @melissa928 I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I hope your follow-up is better too!
  • When was your scan?
    Today!

    How did it go?
Good! My normally very active baby slept away the whole time. Currently baby is breech and measuring a little small but it's big sister wasn't a big baby at birth so no one is concerned!

Did you learn anything new about you or baby?
Nothing other than baby is currently breech! I know there is still a fair amount of time for it to flip but since I started feeling movement at 15 weeks I've always known it was feet down so it makes me a little nervous!

    When was your scan?  Today!

How far along were you? Apparently 23w1d (see comments below)

How did it go? It went well - we didn't get as many good face shots as we'd hoped though. We got reassurance that we are having a boy and everything was measuring pretty standard except his legs are long!

Did you learn anything new about you or baby? Baby is measuring in the 70th percentile, weighs 1lb 6oz with a heart beat of 135.  I also have an anterior placenta which explains the random movement that I am feeling.

My OB has changed my due date by a couple of days which I was not expecting. I thought I was due Sept 17, nurse said Sept 19 last visit but today my OB told me that it is actually September 13 but there is a good possibility that I will go late anyways.  She laughed and said that the earlier due date was better anyways, otherwise my baby would be measuring in the 90th percentile.  I am just confused on why the date changed even if only by several days.  She stated that they measure by the ultrasound vs LMP.  I was sure I had read/heard that they only change due date if it is more than one week.  Regardless, I have just moved up a bit :)  I guess I get to join a new ticker group?

    Edit: Spelling
  • We just had our anatomy scan today.  It went well, but the baby seemed to be sleeping for most of it, and I had to move around some to get good shots..  Everything looks good.  I am measuring on track, just a few days ahead of where I should be.  We learned we are having a boy.

Heard back today that I will need to have a level 2 ultrasound. The A/S showed a 4mm choroid plexus cyst on the brain, but the office reiterated that it probably was nothing and everything else seemed good. Trying to keep my nerves in check.
  • @Thscary I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I've got a good feeling that it'll be nothing like the office suspects!

Sorry I'm late in replying to this, but I just wanted to throw in my experience with this.  They told me DS2 had the same thing and I FREAKED OUT!  If you haven't already done so, DON'T google anything and save yourself the worry and angst.

We went back 2 weeks later and it was completely gone.  DS is now a perfectly healthy 4 year old.  I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry too much.  If everything else came back fine and that was the only thing they found, chances are better than not it won't be there when go back.

Fingers crossed for a great appointment!  Keep us posted!
