  • OMG..... I can relate to this so much. I just posted about very similar thing before reading thisI'm not alone woohoo..... Period comes every 21-24 days and the last pregnancy (ectopic) I got spotting 16 days after period.. wasn't really tracking ovulation.. did a preg test and gota BFP. It was so early I was shocked but unfortunately knew something was wrong. The wait to find out it was definitely an ectopic was grueling because I was so early that there was not really much to be seen except my HCG levels. But I was kinda saying now that we are back to TTC... the waiting game and crazy symptoms have returned. The want to take a million preg test is back... oh no.... why is that so addicting I can definitely relate to one of the ladies who said it's weird not waking up and doing a test .. ohh whhyyyy......after I ovulated I was like oh yea this is it this will be the time but now I seem like ok I know its extremely early on 4 days from ovulation and I'm being crazy thinking I feel nothing, theres no way that I can be pregnant this month and even before the time is up am I defeated. The times that I thought I was definitely prego I never was and the times that I told myself theres no way was when I do get the BFP. thesecrazy days are soooo hard.. took myself out of the running before it's even time.....lots of love and baby dust to all
  • @SnobunnieMel Hahaha, I think it's that whole "done correctly" business that'll getcha. How much longer are you thinking you have to wait?

  • @SnobunnieMel I once had a college professor tell us, "sex is like basketball, there's always a little dribble before the shot" in relation to the pull-out method!
  • @SnobunnieMel if it makes you feel any better I constantly think I might be pregnant when using the POM, too. From what I've researched there's like a 4% chance. This does not help keep my crazies at bay lol Though I think this month I'll be slightly less "crazy" than last and I'm hoping this trend continues until I get to TTC lol I hope you can find out soon; the waiting is torture!

@SnobunnieMel your husband's comment on catholics made me LOL. i've known a few people who got pregnant from the pull out method and it scares the crap out of me since it's what me and DH have used for almost 9 years. luckily it never failed but yeah, it's scary to think about. i just ignore those thoughts lol

Sooo... I would love to hear your opinions on when I could test (if  I decide to test early)....

My last three cycles have been 25, 26, and 25 days. I am currently on CD 20, but only one week out from my trigger shot and only 6 days out from our first BD.

Beta is scheduled for 5/18, which would be CD 28, so I know I could just wait and see what happens on or around CD 25/26 (which falls on our 7th anniversary, 5/16), but I am wondering if y'all think I could test this weekend and get any insight?

I should probably just wait and see..... I just can't seem to make up my mind and stick to it. I waffle back and forth! Ugh.

  • @fivetimesnoluck I think it really, really depends on how you personally handle possible BFNs. I used to be a-OK seeing them day after day waiting for AF, but this past cycle it kickstarted a lot of negativity towards myself, so I'm not doing it this cycle.

I also don't think you have to decide right now, as it's perfectly natural to waffle back and forth!

  • @fivetimesnoluck it's a tough decision. On my last IUI I had a beta scheduled and I caved the day before and POAS early and got a BFN. In a way it softened the blow from the negative beta. For me personally I usually think you'll get a more accurate read closer to your test date, but everyone is different and it depends how much stress and anxiety testing early could potentially create for you.

  • Thank you, @reneeannemm and @roxgibbons - I've been counting days and looking at calendars today like they were going to talk to me. Not sure why; this isn't my typical mo.

The reality is my beta is only 12dpo considering trigger, so I think waiting makes the most sense. And - if even on the progesterone suppositories and having a later trigger I still start early (CD 26) like I have been, then that will be my answer.

  • @fivetimesnoluck It's not too, too long to wait anyhow (haha the lies we tell ourselves). No judgement if you change your mind for any reason, of course! One day at a fricking time.

I'm here now. Reasonably sure I ovulated yesterday, which means we had relations from -5 to O. I'm feeling OK, but I know that I will take a BFN really hard this cycle. DH and I bought tickets to see a band which has just gotten back together after a long hiatus (everyone thought they'd broken up forever). This was a favourite of mine a long time ago and was something my dear best friend and I listened to together a lot. We also took our first trip to Montreal together in 2008 to see them play, a city we'd both fall in love with and finally live together in. I got the tickets while pregnant, as it was really important I take our baby to them as her (DH and I both think she was a girl, so we're going with that) first concert.

The anniversary of my friend's death is also May 19th, so in general this month is an emotional minefield. I'm already in a weird place since finding out my ex-gf had a baby with her wife and although I feel fine right now, I usually descend into madness and deep depressive thoughts by 9 DPO until AF. I'm a lil stressed out and it's all so complicated I don't know how to really share that burden with other people.

  • @reneeannemm I'm sorry you are having all those stressful emotions and memories to wade through this month. Your relations schedule is quite impressive. I hope so much that this is your month!! I hope your walk in the nice weather refreshes your spirit today.

I'm sitting at 11 dpo and impressively calm. I have no sticks to pee on, and I'm ok with that. I don't know what the hell this cycle is doing, and I would just really love AF to arrive and for my damn ute to refresh itself. I was just telling DH that I realized aside from post-D&C spotting, I have really only had one *real* AF since October. It's amazing what kind of headspace that puts me in. I think I'm actually afraid of being KU again. We probably should have been more ardently TTA instead of pseudo-benched-turned-NTNP, but too late now, I guess.
  • @reneeannemm Ugh, I am sorry May is such a minefield. Life is hard. My thoughts will be with you as you progress through the TWW. I am going to have a busy weekend, so that will help me. I hope you can find peace in the midst of so much unpleasantness.

Curious if you have ever tried meditation? I dabble with it (should totally make it a bigger priority) and I can definitely tell a difference on the days when I take time to center myself in the morning. There are all kinds of YouTube videos, but I prefer apps. All of the ones I use are free. No matter what, we've got your back. You can keep sharing with the creepy internet people if it's too hard to share IRL. xo

  • @Wishilivedinflorida Thank you very much.

@fivetimesnoluck I have dabbled! When I was having multiple panic attacks daily, I used mediation to successfully stop them in their tracks. It was also something I was looking at to help with childbirth. Now that you mention it, I think I will dabble further.

I'm not really a motivational quote person and I don't think pop lyrics are profound BUT I do have a mantra from a Canadian indie band (Stars) song - "take the weakest thing in you and then beat the bastards with it" - which sums up my take on life pretty well.

@WishILivedInFlorida Yay for calmness!  At 11dpo, that’s quite impressive!

I'm sitting at 8 DPO and am trying desperately not to turn into a crazy person.  My chart had a very obvious dip yesterday (7 DPO) and my mind is screaming "implantation dip!" But then, my mind is also screaming that the same thing happened last month, along with crazy symptoms I hadn't felt since the cycle I was KU and the BFN was crushing.  So, trying to not get my hopes up too high, but am really wishing it's my cycle too!

I feel like this comment would be flamed all the way to hell and back on some other boards, but I trust y'all, so I am going to put it out there.... This is probably so ridiculous, but I have felt the weirdest twinges in my left ovary area (but a little lower) - a couple of times yesterday and a couple of times today. It feels a lot like the ovulation cramping I felt last week. I am 6dpo, based on my trigger shot.

Implantation cramping is not a real thing, is it? I don't recall that I have ever felt it/noticed it in the past, but I also suck at remembering a lot as it relates to the pregnancies themselves, but can tell you so many of the most random details from each time I learned I would miscarry. Weird...

It's probably just gas or something, right?

Y'all don't really have to entertain this thought, but I had to get it out of my head. :D

  • So pretty certain my crazies are just that. My temp kept going up after a drop at day 8 but finally dropped back down again today (dpo11) a decent amount. Had a super faint line on a FRER but then I got my weekly beta back and it hasn't moved since last week. Stuck at 8. I researched their sensitivity is 6.3 so it's just left over from the CP I guess. Ready for this cycle to be over soon and get back to actively trying.

@fivetimesnoluck  I second @SnobunnieMel said- safe place- plus those who would flame have most likely not been in our shoes. I am obsessed with any feeling in my ovaries, uterus and Fallopian tubes. I think most of us here are far more in tune with our bodies than the average woman, so if anyone is going to feel implantation cramping, it would be us. Hope your TWW doesn't wreak too much havoc on you.

  • @dpjennifer I'm 9dpo too! I broke down a took a test this am and of course it was negative. I hate having all these wondo tests staring at me in the bathroom. Ugh. I have no will power. It's going to be a long weekend. We actually have no plans this whole weekend so I'm hoping to get a bunch of chores done around the house.
  • Oh my goodness - I tried looking at the regular TTC boards here on the bump and it is regularly like some sort of freak accident that I just can't tear my eyes from - seriously, they are so quick to "quote for protection" and have issues with editing posts (which I do all the time - I hit post and then immediately see something to change the wording of - or to add something - I'd rather see an edit than have 2-3 posts in a row...)... I admit, I've even done some not as nice correcting on forums in the past, it is as if the other boards set an expectation that that is how to treat each other and that is ok and I get sucked in. Never done that here - and I think it is the atmosphere.

The philosophy I try to adhere to is one borrowed from the Yarn Harlot (a woman in Toronto who is a knitter and writes knitting humour - sounds niche but she's hilarious and makes a living at it) - I try to pretend that I'm in someone's living room and face to face with them. I might correct a statement, but I try to do it as kindly as possible. I don't always manage it - but that is my goal...

  • @catiecatp I'm definitely way, way too sensitive to keep up with something that fast paced. If I'm lucky enough to ever get pregnant with my rainbow, I'm not sure I could participate in a BMB because I'm entirely forgettable and that doesn't seem to go over well on here.

  • @SnobunnieMel I'm sorry, I have no idea. It must depend on the source of the dollar store tests? It's all going to be OK, though. I'm tail spinner myself, I know the feeling.

  • I think the dollar store ones are sensitive to 25miu/mL which they say your HCG should be at by 10dpo, but remember these are averages because I know ppl get positives earlier. As for the chance of evap, I'm not sure. Feel free to share all your insanity with us; we're here for you ;)<3

@fivetimesnoluck Call me BSC, but I definitely felt implantation (or maybe it was the embryo leaving my Fallopian tube?) at 6dpo with this past pregnancy. It was about 15 minutes of intermittent sharp, stabbing pain. I was at the mall and I literally called DH and said "I'm definitely pregnant" and I was. Actually, I think I posted it on here too. I don't particularly remember if I had anything similar with my other pregnancies, but going forward, I'm always going to be on the lookout for that pain!

So, I for one, totally believe you and thinks it's a good sign!!

Lurking to say I took a dollar tree test (new choice) when I expected it to be negative so I could compare it to a squinter if I ever got one and I got a faint line well outside of the 10 minutes. Assumed it was evaporation but the next day it happened again but the evap line was darker. The third day the line popped up in 3.5 minutes and I had a beta taken that afternoon and it came back at 19.

  • @ceclarlinetlo thanks. What I'm thinking I saw was well within 10 but again, not sure if it's sensitive enough to pick up my left over CP or not. Waiting a few more days.

  • @SnobunnieMel I'm sorry your are having the crazies. Maybe use a low sensitivity test in a few days? (Like the First Response Rapid Result?) Then you would know the hcg has risen? I'm sorry if I'm feeding the crazy more :/
  • I'm definitely feeling the crazy. I'm 11 days DPO and I had the intense cramps and 6, 7 and 8 days DPO. I  was starting to get really hopeful but now I don't feel much. My boobs aren't even that sore. During my pregnancy that was my tell tale sign so I do keep going between maybe and there is no way your going to get a BFP this cycle. I'm making myself nuts right now. I'm holding out till Wednesday to POAS if I don't get AF first.

    @snobunniemel you're in my thoughts!
  • I was just thinking...

Since this thread is so massive, how does everyone feel about weekly or monthly TWW and WTO threads? I definitely don't think we need daily ones, but maybe a little more structure, especially since we are getting a lot of new people here. Just a thought. If others don't agree that's cool too. I know this is generally a low-key board without big emphasis on structure and hard rules besides the general TOU, so if this would change that culture I wouldn't want to do that either.
