@AmMcc12 I feel your pain. I seriously wish this weather would just get nice enough to avoid the need for a jacket alltogether! I was standing in the kitchen with my coat on the other day...DH walks in and gets a perfect shot of my profile and says, "Wow, that coat makes you look super pregnant." Ummmm, thanks...? I get what he meant - the jacket is not a maternity coat so it lays funny over my belly - but some things are just better left unsaid, haha.
Dear Bladder, If you could NOT be completely full every 30 minutes (forcing me to waddle/run to the bathroom at least 10 times throughout the work day), that'd be great.
Sincerely, I'm in the bathroom more than I'm at my desk
@Jabreen happy teacher appreciation week to you (and to all of the other teachers )!!! Our faculty room was flooded with treats as well- so delish!!! Because most of them were made by students, it makes me question what was put in them. Wouldn't it be the most perfect senior prank to put pot in the brownies? Ha
It's a no husband day. Emmett decided to be a toddler and scream after 3 bites of dinner. I stepped away to also scream. Then gave him blueberries instead and now we are watching Bubbleguppies splitting a bag of lucky charms. Not fighting any battles tonight and soaking up cuddles instead. Life is good!!
@AnnaS930 that sounds like a perfect solution!! Not gonna lie... I'd love to be on the couch with a box of cereal right now and I don't even have kids yet!

Not fighting battles is my parenting motto. Some just aren't worth it.
Anyone else starting to feel a little overwhelmed with the whole baby shower/planning for baby and working full time thing? Work has been crazy these past few weeks and my sister has asked for my shower guest list with addresses within the next week or 2. Plus she needs to know which stores we are registering at so she can have it printed on the invites (she lives in a different state than I). So I have been trying to gather like 90 addresses while exchanging pleasantries with my friends I have reached out to plus tell DH we have to reserve the next 2 weeks to get most of our registering done. The invites have to go out the first week of June and I am traveling for work twice in May and so far twice in June (3-4 day trips each). It is just craziness.
Plus, I haven't been keeping up with the hypnobirthing materials/book but my last class is on Tuesday. I need to start making that a priority since the whole point is to practice relaxing every day to train myself to be able to do it when giving birth. Adding to that, I think I want to change providers/hospitals and explore an alternative birthing center or hospital where water birthing is allowed or at least a tub I can labor in and I am just done. LOL. I stayed home from work today (but yet worked from home) because I am just feeling too stressed out. Baahhhh...
Sorry for the rant. It is just a bit much and I want to feel happy and relaxed. Sigh.
Married: 3/21/15 First time mom to a human but have been a puppy mamma for over 12 years
My ransoms are coming in spurts today. I just found out that I have been wearing my Fitbit band without the actua electronic part all day. Apparently I forgot to put it back together after charging. The pregnancy brain must be here
@AnnaS930 I do this all the time. When my hubby is gone for work I almost never cook dinner. Too much work for one adult and a picky 1 year old. We do waffles for dinner a lot haha Enjoy your cuddle night!
a little background before I ask my question. Our master is downstairs and both girls room are upstairs. Deklyn my 3yo has been getting out of bed at night, breaking through her child lock on her door and now learned how to open the baby gate we have at the top of the stairs. This means tons of late night visits and she takes foooorrreevvveerrr to go back to sleep. Sometimes I am up with her from 1-4 every single night. I just can't do this anymore.
Sooo, DH came up with a plan to switch the handles on her door and put the lock on the outside. I was hesitate at first because I feel like I am making her a prisoner in her room but I am also desperate. Do you ladies think it's mean or one of those things where you do what you gotta do to get by?
Edit to add: I think I much rather her be safe in her room then be exploring through the dark and coming down the stairs at night.
My aunt did this for one of her sons because he did the same thing and his door never properly latched anyway. She had a baby monitor she could use at first, to make sure he was okay when she first started doing that. Once he realized he can't get out, he would go back to bed. It's worth a shot!
@blondie080300 I totally hear you! I still have the list of guests from our wedding 3 years ago, and because I'm so damned type-A, I have people's phone numbers, email addresses, most recent mailing address (as of then) and how they are related to me in that master list- so if I pass it on to whoever plans my shower they can follow up for mailing addresses (though I've updated many of them over the years... cause like I said... type A lol). It's still super overwhelming. I feel that way at work too- it's been so busy and yet we still really need a third/supplemental income. I think it's normal to feel stressed- it's a lot going on at once!
I woke up early this morning and went for a (small) run!! It was glorious! I used to run with my dogs every morning, but with the one recovering from a cruciate tear and needing a snow/ice free sidewalk, then the other needing surgery to remove a lump, we haven't been out in far too long. I'm buzzing right now!

I have had no problems sleeping this whole time and as of Monday, I can't find a comfortable position and I'm waking up a million times a night. Thursday-Sunday I work in a coffee shop and have to be at work at 730. I'm so tired and so grumpy and I don't have enough time between jobs today to take a nap
For the first time in weeks I wore high healed boots to work because my normal sneakers were not going to work with the outfit....I am 2.5 hours into work and my boots are sitting under my desk and I'm seriously wondering if I can walk around the office just wearing socks....
@LakeR2014 I have been strolling around the box office in socks/flip flops/barefoot for several weeks and will only wear shoes if I'm going to be somewhere patrons can see my feet. Hopefully you have cute socks on!
@marikkita12 - I caved and bought a pregnancy pillow. It completely changed my ability to sleep and now I feel like I'm sleeping on perfectly contoured clouds! If you're having trouble finding a comfy position to sleep in, I highly recommend looking into pregnancy-specific pillows. I have the back n body by leachco and they make a few other styles. My only regret was not getting it sooner and going about 2 weeks without having any quality sleep.
@lovelylauren86 my a/s is also today! Been dreaming it's a girl for weeks. I already have two boys so would be super excited for a girl. But like you, I will be happy with a healthy baby either way. Good luck today and hope everything is great with your little one!
After switching the knobs I explained to her that she is a big girl and needs to stay in her room all night. The conversation went a little longer than that but I think she got the point. She got up once and tried to walk out of the room but realized she couldn't get out and she went right back to sleep. First time I've slept through the night since February. It was GLORIOUS
@PoodleDoodleOoo I have always slept on my side with a body pillow which is why I've been sleeping relatively well. I saw a thing online to put a folded up towel under my bump. I'll probably give that a try tonight. If that doesn't work, I'll have to suck it up and buy another pillow. Thanks for the recommendation
Ahhhh! I'm up at 4:28 am and can't go back to sleep because today is my anatomy scan day!!! I have no clue how I am going to wait until 1:00pm Good luck to the other two ladies with their scan today too! @lovelylauren86@toimadness1
@beachmama14 - Mine is tomorrow at 7:30 am! I had to take their earliest appointment possible since I knew there was no way I'd be able to get through the day waiting for it!
My dog Fred and baby tag teamed this morning to get my sleepy booty out of bed. Fred was tapping the bed near my face relentlessly and baby was kicking just under my belly button and wouldn't stop until I got up. Coincidence? Probably. But I like to think that it's because they're going to be BFFFFFs.
ETA: DH thinks it's a sign that baby is just going to be a hungry a-hat like the dog is.

Good luck to all of you! It's such an exciting day. Can't wait to hear how the scans went!
I also had a dream that somehow someone revealed the sex of my baby (it was a girl in the dream) and I was so incredibly mad! I'm decidedly team green, and I'm hoping that this dream wasn't some sort of ~sign~ as whats to come. I really don't want to know until he or she is here!

AW: some cuteness for your Thursday. Got the photos back from my daughter's three year old shoot.
