Those are cute though! @whaat , I was mainly talking of the holey ones that people used to put charms on and stuff. Do they still do those?
I assume but I would never. These are the only crocs I own. And only bc I walk 15 min to and from the train every day and sometimes it rains and I can't just treat ballet flats like they're disposable (even though..)
I know this is going to be a huge UO around here, but I have to say it... I don't get Doctor Who. I am not saying I hate it, I just don't get it. Am I doing it wrong? I have been watching the first season on Amazon and I have no idea why there is such a fandom. Does it get better? Am I missing something? I am willing to keep watching because something with so many fans must be at least entertaining, but the aliens inside bodies that zip off at the forehead... And Rose is annoying and the acting is terrible and the Doctor causes most of the problems they get into and the Dalek is a trashcan with a plunger for an arm. I just don't know.
Yeah I'm with you @HeyBooHey. I watched the first couple seasons and then gave up. I just couldn't get into it. It's pretty much the only sci-fi-ish show I've ever given up on, too. That's absolutely my genre.
I BELIEVE IN GHOSTS. There. I said it. H thinks I'm crazy for it.

@HeyBooHey & @SRose109 - a lot of people take issue with or even skip the 9th doctor (I'm not one of them, cried like a baby when he regenerated), push through it if you typically like sci-fi and you may like the 10th (David Tennant) or 11th (Matt Smith) docto better. Companions change frequently as well so if you don't like one, another one is usually right around the corner. You have to remember that Doctor Who started in the 60s, and some of the enemies (like the Daleks) have been around since then and they did try to retain some of the spirit of the show despite the fact that it was decades between the end of the old series and the relaunch in 2005. There's also usually at least one episode per season we just try not to talk about because it's so bad (Love & Monsters, I'm looking at you). I actually preferred the writing once Steven Moffat took over as showrunner (spoiler alert, he'll kill anyone) - it gets a bit darker.
My UO I think push presents are the *stupidest* thing in the world. You just pushed out a baby, *that's* your present. The "We'll I want something sparkly to remember this day by," is dumb...Your baby. That's what your get to remember the day by.
I know this is going to be a huge UO around here, but I have to say it... I don't get Doctor Who. I am not saying I hate it, I just don't get it. Am I doing it wrong? *snip*
Fuck yeah. Tried to watch it once and couldn't stop giggling. There's no way these people are serious. The best part is the idea people seem to have that it's some kind of "smart" show. It's average low budget sci fi (which is usually kinda dumb? And if it's not low budget then.. Ouch). I guess if I was high enough? But even then probably not.
I don't care for Doctor Who. I'm a die hard Supernatural fan, however. And I believe in ghosts too. I can say this as an atheist because I have seen them, and I know I'm not crazy, so I can't deny them.
I roll my eyes super hard at people who share that they went for a run with one of those little "map my run" things on Instagram or Facebook. Extra eye rolls if it's accompanied by a "sweaty selfie". I do not care that you went running. At. All.
@GreenEyedUnicorn I haven't seen any ghosts, but I'm an atheist too!
Talk about an unpopular opinion... at least in my circle. No one knows I'm a nonbeliever but DH and my BFF from high school because it isn't worth the ostracism. I'm totally closeted.
After 13 years of private religious school and then actually reading the book from cover to cover, my engineer brain just couldn't make it compute. I was 16 when I decided this, and still in religious school taking religion classes daily. Getting A's in them, I might add. I hate when I hear that atheists "can't" be moral. I'm convinced that basic morality is intrinsic in the human brain, unless you're a sociopath and the emotion centers don't work right. There are some great studies with babies on morality showing it seems to be hard wired. Makes sense since human survival depends on cooperation.

If we're talking TV shows...I don't get Game of Thrones. It just does not appeal to me.
Also, I have some relatives who enjoy camping. I can't see why that's fun. I feel like my minimum standard for a vacation destination is indoor plumbing. I don't want to spend my vacation time going to the bathroom outside :-)
Dr. Sears is a quack. I am, for lack of a more universally understood term (can't believe i'm using this word...), Crunchy. I should like him and his "bible." I babywear, and breastfed, and co-slept and on and on. But no. He is an arrogant, anti-feminist who clearly believes that all women should take a break from their selves to be moms. As if you can't be a great mom and be you at the same time. Half his information is anecdotal and psychologically unsupported so essentially is just his own opinion.
@sunbeam1, @Thewizardofrhythm I live in Kurt Vonnegut's hometown and this is painted on a building downtown. I was so confused by it until I learned who it was.

I not only have a fondness for Star Trek, but also a deep love for Star Wars. Every geek's worst nightmare - I refuse to pick a side.
However, my hubby has a short with Patrick Stewart on captioned with "Use the force Harry" that drives me nuts! Looks like a perfect fire starter though
I think all sports are boring, ALL of them. If I happen to get invited to a sporting event I spend my time talking to people and no time at all paying attention to whats going on. I don't even know the rules to football (or any other game fro that matter) and am constantly confused if I ever try to pay attention. I don't complain or try to stop others from enjoying but I have zero interest myself and would rather be doing almost anything else in the world than watching sports on TV. Its mind numbing to me. Its like white noise in the background that I wish would go away.

I'm Pagan. I was raised in traditional witchcraft, DH's family is super Christian. It should be fun when they find out that our child will not be baptized.
Baseball is only exciting in a movie or if you're at the game with beer and fried food.
Otherwise I'm all about football. It's a real sport.
I completely agree! But I also like soccer and most people don't. Soccer is more exciting to play than watch. Football is by far the most exciting to watch. DH and I try to make it to one game a year.
Just realized my fantasy football may take a hit when baby comes. I'm a little weary of letting my husband handle it....
I REFUSE to let my husband handle my team. I have alternated winning the league we are in every year with his brother. My husband usually is a bottom-of-the-barrel team. If needed, I will be setting my line-up while pushing.

Go Green Bay Packers!!
My problem with soccer is that you have to keep watching the whole game. Every time I look away they score the only flippin goal of the game. I need breaks! I can't keep staring at the tv with my whole attention for an entire game without getting up to pee and get another beer every once in a while. I think the pace of football is much more comfortable and fun.
I let my kid watch TV a lot and I don't think it's bad. We do tons of other stuff too, like go to parks and museums and play with friends. I don't let her use an iPad or tablet (personal choice b/c she'd probably break it.) We watch shows together in the morning before we go out, and in the afternoon I let her watch a movie because she no longer naps. Some days we watch no TV, and some days it's a Paw Patrol marathon. Whatever, she's smart and well rounded and I'm not worried about her brain frying.
