@Jabreen that's pretty much exactly what she said. She said cramps were the main thing to watch for. TBH, the amount of spotting and color plus this achiness is very reminiscent of the spotting I had early in this pregnancy. I suspected I had a cyst on my left side that maybe ruptured and caused the spotting and discomfort. It's the same side this time, so maybe it happened again? I said that to her and she didn't really say yeah, that's a thing, but I can't help but wonder.

@runningisrad That's funny because my fiance keeps trying to get me to go to a prenatal massage and I am not a massage person...I am treating myself to a chiropractor in a couple weeks. Whatever works!
@mom2adoodle I totally get it. And there are definitely some valuable things to be learned here. It's just that drinking is usually something people specifically go over with their medical professional and it isn't necessarily the black and white issue that people sometimes make it out to be. I don't know if it seemed like particular comments were harsh, or maybe the pile-on effect made it seem blown out of proportion. It just seemed like "whoa, that escalated quickly." you know?
@MojieJo -- congrats on your boys! So exciting! Speaking of toy kitchens, my son LOVES the cheap plastic McDonald's kitchen we got him at a garage sale. I want to upgrade eventually, but it does the job for now. I got him nice wooden fruits and veggies that Velcro together and he can slice in half with a wooden knife and he will sometimes sit and do that for an hour! Those are made my haba and I highly recommend them!
@runningisrad--I'm sorry you didn't get a better answer. But I hope it really is done and you can relax a bit this weekend.
On a lighter note, does anyone else daydream about the Talenti ice cream waiting for them in the freezer? Because I do this all day. If you have not tried this ice cream, it is the best. thing. everrrrr. (Sigh) I can't wait until I'm finished with a healthy dinner and plop down on the couch and finish reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth and indulge.
Okay, so some of you know I was being psycho and wondering if my Harmony results were accurate for sex. I had a fear of the lab effing up, my blood being switched, me somehow carrying a Y chromosome and other outlandish fears.
Well, today anatomy scan confirmed that I am having a baby boy!!! ::leaping for joy:: I can vouch that it was indeed my uterus, indeed my body and indeed a little something in-between baby's legs. Woo hoo!!! Finley James is looking good!
@sporty1216 Thank you! I'll have to keep an eye out for that play food. I've seen the kind that velcroes before but wasn't sure how much fun it actually was to play with.
@mom2adoodle Thank you and congrats on your little boy, too!
My girls and I visited one of my best friends today and I got to hold her precious 5 week old baby for a long time. I can't wait to hold my little one. Holding a squishy little baby just makes everything better.
@unwritten12 Thank you! I'm so glad we finally decided on two boys' names we both like since I don't care for traditional boys' names, which made picking hard. They're fine for other people's kids, but I just don't see myself with a John/Thomas/David/etc.
We wouldn't be going with William as a middle name except that it's in honor of my favorite uncle who died unexpectedly when I was in high school. Because of that, I'm thrilled to be giving it to my little boy, but otherwise it never would have made the cut.
Avery was a strong contender for a first name, but DH (who never expresses an opinion about these things) said he liked Aiden when I asked and since I had already considered it and liked it, Avery got bumped to a middle name. I'm glad I still get to use it, though.
I say go for it! It's such a nice unisex name and I think it'll age well.
I didn't realize the wine girl was the same as the anxious anatomy scan girl. What the entire f***. I miss beer. I'm gonna miss my summer beers. But abstaining from something I like for a very short period of time is a small thing in return for a baby born without FAS. Jesus.
@camichael84- oh good, I didn't even look at her previous posts to see if I was being a complete jerk or not. But I just can't this afternoon. I'm at work watching the clock move backwards wishing it was 5pm and I'm getting grouchier by the second.
I scooted over just to see it- thank you for the laugh I feel like my patience is virtually non-existent these days lol!
So I just had the most disappointing dinner. I've been craving sushi BAD for weeks now. Today was DH's last day at his super long-commute job and he starts his work from home job next week. (Yay!) To celebrate, we decided to get sushi. I asked for a shrimp tempura roll, wanting something cooked, but forgot to remind him to ask if there are any other raw ingredients. Turns out it comes with masago (fish eggs). I know some might eat it anyway but I couldn't. I felt too guilty. I ate my potstickers and had a few of DH's California Rolls but ended up still soooo hungry while DH was commenting how full he was after having to eat both his meal and mine. So I at half of two of the shrimp tempura rolls (the half without the masago even though, let's be real, I'm sure I ended up eating some). Regardless, it just wasn't the amazing sushi experience I imagined and now I'm sitting here still hungry and can't decide if I'm actually hungry or just emotionally hungry due to the disappointment. I feel like I need ice cream now...which leads me to believe my hunger is probably just emotional. Ahhh...pregnancy...
@PSUBecky23 - happy passover!! Just put a batch of macaroons in the oven, anything tasty going on at your house??
Thanks! Sounds delicious! I'm a bad Jew and had a crazy work week and did nothing to prepare. So I'll try again tomorrow.I also feel like living on matzah for eight days while pregnant is a bad idea.
@PSUBecky23 we had dinner at 6 so well before sundown and didn't have any passover foods. Husband claims he's making matzo ball soup tomorrow... we will see. I will have some matza but not sticking with the whole thing
@AnnaS930 You responded to the "will I got past full term" thread the way I wanted to. I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt that she was concerned about preterm labor after her miscarriage, but based on the her previous posts, I kind of doubt that was the case.
I really do think what she meant was "will the fact that I've had a miscarriage have any effect on when I deliver this baby?" But it was definitely asked in a way that came off as a "guess my baby's stats" kind of post.
My maternity swimsuit showed up from target yesterday, it fits and is really flattering but I desperately need a tan!!! Survived 2 days of healthy eating and down 2 pounds of bloat, pretty proud of myself. Emmetts baby brother doll just showed up that I Primed on Thursday, now I can't wait for him to wake from his nap
@AnnaS930 -- good to know about the suit! I need to order one next month before we start mommy and me swim lessons.
Also, curious about the baby brother doll. Would you mind posting a link? I want to get something like that for my son once we find out what we are having on Monday.
I just spent $46 on my favorite nursing bra! I never spend money on myself. But I used this bra for both my boys and loved it!! It's supports like a real bra but comfy enough for sleeping in. It is seriously the best! I also got a pair of maternity jean shorts and a tank that says mommas first mate with an anchor. I'm so excited!
My random of the day - took Reese to her first non-mommy and me swim class today. She has always loved the water and never had any fear. She spent the whole class freaking out, crying and running to me. Blah. Hopefully next week goes better.
@PSUBecky23 how old is Reese? My dd just turned 3. She isn't crazy about the pool even with a parent for lessons and only just tolerates it now after 9 months of lessons. Your experience does not give me hope that we're ready to make the switch...

@jhems and @runningisrad hugs to the both of you! Sounds like you need a prenatal massage to ease your nerves!
