I've been SO obsessed and distracted with thinking about things to fix/do around the house. Feels like it happened overnight, but I've been a nesting fiend! All I want to do is clean and paint! Anyone else acting as crazy as I am?
Yes! Went shopping for new furniture this past weekend for our office that we are almost finished with. And we are starting to buy material for my father to finish our basement in July. This way we have a huge TV room downstairs with more space. And then we will be getting the nursery done very soon as well once we know what we are having. I've also been cleaning like crazy and purging.

I very rarely clean and the other day I just couldn't stand what the house looked like (it wasn't even that bad). Just picked up all the clutter. Then I organized my closet. Then I cleaned out baby's future closet. I'm dyyyyying to get the nursery started too....but apparently men don't get the nesting urge. At least not yet. He is in NO rush.

Guilty. I spent hours cleaning on Saturday, then we finally went shopping for some home decor we've needed (well, wanted) for a year. I didn't expect to nest with number two! And, definitely not at 12 weeks.
Definitely, I deep cleaned the bathroom the other day. I'm talking head behind the toilet wiping down the walls cleaning. It's driving me nuts the rest of the house is in shambles because we're packing.
@ibabyloveb87 I totally agree on the MAN front. My DH needed a fire lite under his ass, this is why I went and bought the new furniture, it's making him get the painting done in our office before May 7th, I was nice enough to give him a few more weeks of being lazy. Because then its go time till the baby gets here.

I wish! My house could use a good cleaning about now. Hopefully nesting will kick in before this Sunday... I'm hosting a baby shower for one of my friends at my house
YES! We're switching all of our rooms around and I have been going bonkers. It's like we can't move room A to room B until we get room C cleared out to the garage... and we need to clear the garage out first. I feel like every day I'm cleaning and nagging DH to get on cleaning out the garage so we can do this! I need somewhere to put all the baby stuff I'm buying uncontrollably!
I feel like I am so behind on preparing for the baby. I want the nursery done now even though we don't know if we are having a girl or boy yet. I live in the Houston area so we were flooded in yesterday and I spent the whole day cleaning.
I'm so nesting. I gave away our desk and dresser that were in our spare bedroom so that we can start making the nursery. I think my husband would have liked to have kept them for longer, since we use them a lot, but I need to paint the nursery soon or I'm going to lose my mind haha.
@NicholeL16 Our main office is in Houston and they can't work due to all the flooding. Hope your home stayed dry! Looks like it was pretty bad from the pictures I've seen!

@ibabyloveb87 Things were really crazy yesterday. Some of the other streets in our area were underwater but thankfully ours did fine. I stayed home again today because there's a pretty good chance of more rain and I didn't want to risk not being able to get back home tonight.
Nope, I'm trying to maintain my house and sanity at this point. We have a ton of bigger projects (like 15) because we just moved and the nursery is currently the catch all room, but we will get there. I've got ideas and a plan, just no time to get done.
Last time I didn't have a nursery to prepare, we were living elsewhere so I picked paint, the theme, and a crib and my parents did it. It was oddly nice to walk in on moving day with a 3 week old and have it done. I did get a spark to clean and get organized round 34 weeks but that might have been boredom and trying to get things moving with the baby.
I have all these grand plans of what I'd like to do around here, but I'm still so exhausted when I get home from work. Hoping I will have more energy during summer vacation to get it all done!
I am so anxious to paint the nursery! But we're waiting for my dad's help (he was a professional painter for 10+ years) when they come visit next at the end of May. I still have to clean out the closet and bookshelf that's still in there and am hoping to do that this week, although these 2nd tri headaches are making it difficult to get moving some days.
Also with this beautiful weather I've been going out each day and working in the yard and DH painted our deck over the weekend. I'm so anxious to get this house perfect for baby.
I went on a minor rampage and cleaned all my son's toys and pulled a bag full to get rid of, ha. I definitely have the itch, but my H is out of the country the rest of the month, and we just bought an suv to fit all these babies in so the budget needs to sit tight for a little bit!

THIS. Except for me it's a bridal shower brunch...and I need to get so much done. I washed the inside/filter of my vacuum cleaner...does that count?
I thought it was way too soon for nesting and wasn't going to say anything, but YES! We live in a small house so I've become obsessed with clearing things out to make room for baby's things.
They had to spray our entire building for bed bugs as a preventative measure (other units had some). If anyone has ever prepped for that you know what a pain it is. I can't believe how much dust collected behind the furniture. I'm definitely ready to kon mari our place after this ordeal.
*raises hand* yup right here. I blamed it on the boost of second trimester energy, but hubby and I started cleaning up the backyard, and when we hit out limit (huge yard) I came inside to "rest", but I couldn't! I had to clean the litter boxes, then the dishes, then vacuum, then make lunch, then do those dishes, then finish the laundry and when it was finally all said and done, I sat there tapping my fingers as I couldn't settle down.
One upside is that hubby is super eager to start the nursery but we're waiting to find out the gender, which won't be until May 17.
Yes! I really want to paint both the nursery and the master bedroom. I also want to have our bathroom renovated this summer. I can't wait to get started on projects - just waiting until my nausea starts to ease up some.
Ugh, I wish. I have zero motivation to clean or pack up the spare bedroom so we can turn it I to a nursery. I'm banking on the nesting instinct to kick in eventually so I can get stuff done!

Nope. The only motivation I have at the end of the day is to hold the couch down. Now DH on the other hand? Totally nesting. He just refinished DDs metal chair, started a compost bin, built a work bench and is currently making wooden kitchen utensils. Next up is a crib mobile
I am not sure if it's nesting or my need to be organized. I have been going through the entire house and cleaning/organizing everything. DH has been super helpful. He has painted 7 areas of our home over the past month and we plan on painting the main areas before LO comes.
I'm jealous ladies. I have zero motivation to get up and clean. Maybe in a month or so! I just feel like I have this invisible starting point in my head and it doesn't start till 20 weeks.... I'm thinking as soon as I hit 20 weeks, I'll be totally nesting.
The checklists on articles and pinterest are giving me anxiety though.
Alright, so I guess I am not nesting in the sense that I want to clean the house...... but I did order 4 different samples of wallpaper yesterday, to try them out and pick which one is gonna go in baby's nook!
Check out these awesome patterns! So excited to get them!
@kmvisioli , I know what you mean! Wallpaper can totally transform a room....any room! In this case, baby is sharing his room with his two sisters who are with us only every other weekend.... so it doesn't make sense to move and get a bigger place. So we've decided to convert the closet into baby's nook.
Kind of like this:
But because the room is now pretty neutral but with a lot of mermaid art/accents... we decided it would be easiest to just go with the nautical theme and perhaps inject some pirate into his nook.
I do love the 2nd wallpaper swatch though. I hope it's as pretty in person! The first one is gorgeous, but I worry it might be too busy?
@sjo&thetwins Ahhhh that nursery is adorable! I pretty much have all of our nursery furniture and decor picked out, but for budgeting reasons we're waiting to buy until the summer. It's torture! The nurser is now painted, but totally empty, and the makes me sad. The one thing I could be doing right now is get all of the random crap out of that closet (and organize all of the closets/storage in our house ) but I'm struggling with motivation for that.
We bought the crib yesterday because of that target sale! We were just going to leave it in the box until the room is painted at the end of May but we had to take it out to fit it in the car so now DH will just have to put it together
I want to nest so bad! But DH and I just found out that we are buying his parents' house (his mom has decided to move since FIL passed away in January and they built the house and on family land, we don't want it to go to anyone else) a lot sooner than we thought. We were thinking it would be the end of summer or even after Christmas but it has happened a lot quicker than expected and we're moving in June. I can't wait to get in there and get the baby's room ready.
