We haven't started talking about names yet... We want a name that would work well in English and Spanish, but I'm having a hard time thinking of boy names that are bilingual that I like (I have a huge Hispanic family, so most names remind me of someone or are, in my view, old fashioned). I like Noemi for a girl.
I agree with @penelope4612. Also Oliver was pretty popular this year too according to the list I saw. I just mention that since it seems like you said you want to avoid popular names, as do I. Charlotte was my runner up for a girl's name, but not anymore! lol
@em1092 - maybe it's because I live in NC, but I meet babies all the time named Charlotte. I wondered if it's a bigger name here then elsewhere, but I guess not.
@DiFazette I'm in Georgia, and I noticed it around the the time Prince William and Princess Kate named their daughter that! Plus there seems to be an overall trend with reviving older names right now. I guess it really is true that names are cyclical!

We haven't started discussing yet as we feel it's too early, but obviously I have thought of this before and my favorite girl name is Charlotte (so we can call her Charlie) but I could care less about boy names!! I will let DH pick!

Our last name starts with S. I really like classic old names that look beautiful written out in script (to me). Now we are thinking Evelyn Lucille (after my grandmother) (No nn), Eleanor Elizabeth (after his grandmother) or Brooklyn Eleanor. The more I look at it the more I don't like Eleanor.
DH likes Corbin.. but I dont. Maybe Elliott Michael (Pieces and parts of DH'S name and my families boy name).
I'll change my mind later.

So far the only name I love is Sebastian for a boy. I like Ava for a girl, but it's so common nowadays that I'm not sure I would use it. I just picture her sitting in a classroom with 3 other Ava's lol...I'm open to ideas. Has to flow well with a spanish last name though, and easily pronounced so it's not slaughtered every time we go see the family.

If it's a boy we're naming him Benjamin Edward. DH's grandfather's name was Benjamin and it's his middle name, and my grandfather was Edward. If it's a girl, Sarah Elizabeth. Sarah is Hebrew for princess, and what will our daughter be if not her daddy's little princess? That's how I sold DH on the name. My middle name was almost Elizabeth, so I want to make sure my daughter has it because I love it.

@lovebugbites LOVE Ophelia...what an strong and beautiful name. I am kind of routing for you to have a girl.
I haven't thought too much about names, but I do like gothic names a lot, like Raven and Luna. But it will really depend on what the babe looks like. I have red hair and hazel eyes, and DH has dark brown hair with blue eyes, so honestly the name would change depending on which attributes baby gets. I think a Gothic name would go more with a dark-haired baby than a red-haired baby, so once we find out the gender we'll probably prepare two sets of names.
My husband and I picked out a boy's name before I got pregnant. We love the name Lincoln. However, we cannot agree on a girl's name. Hopefully we can come to an agreement if we end up having a girl!
We haven't started discussing yet as we feel it's too early, but obviously I have thought of this before and my favorite girl name is Charlotte (so we can call her Charlie) but I could care less about boy names!! I will let DH pick!

I brought up names before we were TTC, and DH did not like any of the girl names I mentioned. As for the boy names, he just had concerns that there weren't other guys with the same name ins his family/extended family. The last name is really common, and his extended family is HUGE and fairly well known in the community he grew up in, so they try to keep it one name per family, etc.
Both DH and I have unisex names, so I thought it would be cool to give our kid one too. Although, I hated it growing up... but soon grew into liking it. I guess none of the names I really like are unisex, though.
For girls - Rory, Aria, Charlotte For boys - Wyatt (DH did like this one)
I also liked Reese as a unisex name, but one of my friends just had her 4th boy and named him Rhys... so there went that idea. Jackson would have been on the list (my maiden name), but our second oldest nephew already has that name.

For a girl we are set on Gwendolyn Ann (mn is my grandmothers) or Gwendolyn Isabelle (mn is his grandmothers). For a boy, it's really up in the air right now...Thomas will be the middle name for his grandfather but not set on a first name. We've thrown around Greyson, Hudson and Harrison but no decision. With my first son we were set on Ethan for years before we had him and Huntington is his middle name which is the first born boys middle name on hubby's side for like 5 generations (hubby's name is Elliott Huntington) and for our second son, Finnley Jack, we went with what we liked, no family link.
We have discussed baby names pretty much since we've been married! We already have Ian Avery picked out for a boy. (DH's middle name is Ian.) That one probably isn't going to change. For a girl, first name will be Mara, but we are in discussions about the middle name. I really wanted Mara Noelle when we first were discussing names, but now I don't want to use Noelle because I'm afraid it will sound like we picked it because she's due near Christmas! We are also tossing around Mara Grace and Mara Elise. I think I like Elise a little better but DH is leaning toward Grace. However, both of us have nieces with the middle name Elizabeth so if we go with Elise it would be a little close to her cousins' names as well.
This is hard because we have a slight theme with our 2 DD's. Emma and Amelia. It was an accident, but I almost feel like I need to continue with the same kind of sound. I have no ideas for that though.
For or girls I'm liking Avery, Charlotte(dh veto'd this one last pregnancy), Clair, and Maggie. For boys I'm liking Lincoln, And Holden.
Husband likes Lincoln. That's it. This is so hard! Haha
We know a girl would be Ella! I like Ella Joy, but DH hasn't said one way or the other about Joy as a middle name.
For a boy, all we know is John would be one of the names. We each had a grandfather named John. DH said he likes the idea of JB as a nickname because he was called JB growing up (B from last name). We'll see!

I can't think of any boy names. I have an 8 year old son named Jordan. His grandmother picked out that name because my ex and I couldn't agree on Payton or Lincoln. This time I'm stuck on boys because every name reminds me of someone I dislike. My SO likes Bowie for a boy but it's too soon after David Bowies passing for my liking.
For a girl I have picked out Amelia, Juliet (my favourite work by Shakespeare) or Sophie (from the Davinci Code).
I won't be naming this one until after the birth and I get an idea of their personality.
