I'm starting to take a personal offense to baby not arriving. After a week and a half of "any minute now" from various techs etc, and my history, and even false labor has tapered off, I'm getting stir crazy. It's like sitting at the DMV and your number never gets called, but you can't leave!
Just feeling generally like sh*t. These menstrual pains/backache are for hours at a time now (though not time-able like contractions) and I'm hardly sleeping and just, ugh. Only 35 weeks! I felt soooo good for most of pregnancy and now I just want to be DONE. I am totally in awe of you ladies who are doing this while taking care of another LO!
@missnc77 I'm glad you brought that up because I've been wondering the same thing! Seems I'm feeling a whole lot of cramping for it to just be nothing but I don't have anything to base it off of! Plus this cramping has been going on for awhile and I am clearly not in labor...but how will I know the difference when it happens?

I had this fear too, but for me the difference between false labor and true labor is noticeable. Put it this way, I thought I was in pain...and then I was actually in pain. You'll know when it's real versus false labor.
So last night after I went to bed, I started getting these painful cramps that felt like it was the top of my uterus tightening up really tight. They kept coming and going for a couple hours, although I didn't time them. My husband and I just laid there wondering if they were real contractions or something else. I ended up having diarrhea a couple times in the night, and now I'm wondering if it was just my body rejecting dinner, or what. The cramps certainly didn't feel like they were in the right place to be caused by food poisoning or indigestion.
Did I hear somewhere that your body will sort of naturally evacuate your bowels before "the big show?" No idea what was going on. It was definitely much more intense than anything I've felt thus far.

It could also mean nothing - don't want to end up getting your hopes up here, but my doula did say this was one sign to look for impending labor... but in combination with other signs. If it's bc of labor it's hormonally induced and is meant to get your body ready. She told me if it happens and you're 100% sure its not bc of diet or illness then to just watch and see how it progresses.
Good to know! It could have been my dinner, so I'm going to take it with a grain of salt. I'm exactly 37 weeks today so he technically still has a few weeks to cook some more.
@jenbkc It can mean impending labor for your body to push food through quickly with cramping...but impending could still be weeks, not necessarily days. I've been getting this for the last couple weeks and it happened with DS too starting around 37w. As soon as I eat anything lately, my body is trying to get rid of it asap.
I've had diarrhea for the past month .. my doctor put me on probiotics which helped but she said it's probably due to hormones. You will also know real contractions mine have started randomly and it starts in my lower belly and spreads to my thighs and back and I can't breathe .. Braxton hicks are normally at the top.
Ughh last night was the absolute worst. I was home alone and having major anxiety bordering on panic attack. I had to go sit in the nursery for awhile to try and calm down. I was just so upset and wound up for no reason at all. I also had terrible pressure on my bladder. I felt like I reeeeally had to pee (and sometimes #2), so every 5 minutes I'd run for the toilet and nothing would happen. (Definitely not a UTI.) My nipples also got very sore for the first time since 1st tr. And then I had contractions every 9 minutes for about 2 hours until I fell asleep. What a effing tease. False labor sucks.
Thanks to everyone for responding to my question! Your responses are super interesting! Maybe my symptoms will get worse, maybe they won't, but it's good to know that if they don't, that doesn't mean I'm never going into labor.
In other news, my nightly hip pain went away over a month ago. It was a welcome relief, but last night it came back with vengeance. I think it decided to make up for some lost time by telling me I'm not off the hook.
OMG I just found out I'm getting induced on Saturday. I'm in shock! I'm ready but not ready if that makes any sense!
What was their reasoning if you don't mind me asking? and how many weeks are you? Good luck! Thoughts and prayers. @ayeshaohara
Her head is in 98th percentile and body is in the 4th percentile. We knew this was a possibility with my medical history. I'm 38 weeks today. They said the extra time in utero won't make any difference so they'd rather get her out now and give her body a chance to catch up sooner. Thank you!
@missnc77 for me I had no build up whatsoever. I never had Braxton hicks contractions or anything. The day I went into labor I had felt nothing different. Then the contractions started fast and strong right away. I thought they were my first Braxton hicks and boy was I wrong! 12 hours from the first contraction my daughter was born
This is helpful to hear! I'm 38 weeks and have had no BH or anything (not that it couldn't still happen) so it's good to know that labor can come on fast and strong. I keep thinking I'll have days/weeks of signs to get ready but this makes me think I should be prepared for anytime!
Kurrant 37 weeks sounds really early for a sweep if you and baby are healthy. I would hold off until 40 weeks. It's weird that your OB would suggest it so early. Just say no thanks and wait it out a few more weeks.

Good luck! Fx for a smooth induction and delivery!
We had some preterm labor last night, I'm 35weeks today. My contractions got down to 4min apart lasting 2-7min each time. We got them to stop but man am I worn out today. She's also the lowest I've ever felt her and she's staying down there.
My appointment is tomorrow and I'm driving myself nuts! I want to know what's going on! My mom also was a 36weeks on the dot gal so that's not making me feel at ease either.
Did anyone sleep REALLY well just before going into labor?
It's taken 1-2 hours to fall asleep for weeks now due to restless legs and frequent restroom runs. Then, I couldn't sleep well because I'd keep waking up to use the bathroom, so I'd get 5-6 hours of sleep per night.
Last night, I fell asleep within 10 minutes and only woke up 3 times. I actually slept around 8 hours! Not sure if it's a sign or wishful thinking.

I think sleep just comes and goes as it pleases at this point... Eventually your body will get so exhausted from the lack of decent sleep that I think you'll have a couple of nights where you spend more time in deep sleep. Or something like that.
Third tri symptom watch is exactly like TTGP symptom watch. It makes me laugh, because I do it too. TTGP: every twinge makes you wonder if you might be pregnant but the answer is always... You'll know you're pregnant when you POAS and tells you that you are Third Tri: every twinge makes you wonder if you're going in to labor but the answer is always... You'll know LO is coming when your water breaks or you have contractions close together for at least an hour
I've slept terrible all week... (mostly because I come home from work and nap for 2 hours) but yesterday I didn't and I slept much better. SO had to wake me up at 10:30pm because I had already started snoring so bad. Oops. I think sleep just comes and goes as it pleases. Naps are not my friend.
Well, this morning I started getting awful pain on my left side towards my back, plus I have had cramps for a few days. No idea if it's contractions or just a pulled muscle or muscle spasm, but holy crap it hurts. The last one hurt so much I thought I was going to throw up.
Can you have contractions that you feel just on one side of your back?
I'm so happy to see people saying they didn't get BH contractions much, every week I read it's supposed to be happening a bit .... And I haven't felt anything and I'm 34+2 so I freak out a little. Granted I currently have a breech baby and a planned c section but I'm not accepting that fate until it's time to get to the hospital. I keep asking her to flip. I'm not a good candidate for a version as I have scar tissue from prior surgeries(septate) so I'm just hoping she does it on her own.
Have you tried www.spimningbabies.com? Also, a chiropractor certified in Watson method can help get that baby turned around. You have plenty of time.

Haha yeeeesssssssss. It's been so entertaining to read the things people are wishing or hoping will point to labor, though!
Whatever size this little guy ends up being, he is definitely running out of room. I've had some major alien bump the past couple of days. Especially when he sticks his head out to the side, you can see and feel it VERY clearly. I think I freaked a few people out at our staff meeting yesterday when he was shifting around between contractions.
Since about 5:00 iv even having these sharp pains. They last about 20 seconds then go. Not timeable at all. Can contractions feel like sharp pains? I don't think it's labor at all, just wondering what it can be?
Low. Center and to the right. I haven't had one in about 20 minutes so it was probably nothing. I was literally breathing through them on the train ride home thought. People probably thought I was in labor.
@yogahh sounds like BH to me. My doc says when they are in different places like that they're BH but in one place (particularly up top) they're actually contractions.

I've been having some really sharp RLP lately. When I'm laying in bed I can't stretch my right leg out all the way or I get horrible shooting pain right in that area. Maybe she's hanging out down there and putting pressure on a nerve or something?
Re: 3rd Tri/Labor Impending Symptoms **Updated**
This time, I've had barely any BH's (I'll be 37w tomorrow).
