All these outfits are SO cute! We are team green so I'm planning on bringing a boy and girl outfit but haven't found anything I love yet. Hopefully they don't end up going home in just a white onesie
For my first baby we brought him home in a snap up whale sleeper and hat it was a bit chilly I had packed a nb outfit and a 0-3 month outfit... for this one well prob do a boy romper and bring a NB and 0-3 month size with. Last time I bought like only a few NB outfits figuring Id have a huge baby well he was almost 8 pds but he still wore NB clothes for the first month...just wanted to throw that out there... bc then I had like no clothes for him haha.

This. So much. Everyone always talks about what a waste NB size is. My daughter was 7.8 and wore preemie size for almost a month and then NB for about 6 weeks as well. (In my opinion) It's worth having a stash of NB size clothes. She swam in the 0-3 at birth.
This is what Alice will be going home in. With DS didn't have a lot of time to plan, we didn't even know we were going to get him until 5 days before he was born. Luckily a dear friend of the family whipped him up an adorable embroidered onesie with his name on it.

I was told my daughter would be over 9.5 pounds at birth. So I totally skipped the NB clothes. But, she ended up being 7.14.
Someone gave me one NB outfit at my shower, and that was the one she ended up coming home in. My husband and MIL both ran out to buy some NB clothes, which we used for about a month.
I'm in FL so more of a concern for me... if it's hot where you live, bring the car seat into the hospital well in advance of your discharge so it's not too hot for the baby. Those seats and buckles get HOT!
I have a lamb onesie that I might be able to use as his take home outfit (I can't remember exactly what size I bought it in but I think it was newborn). It's currently packed due to moving but its similar to the white onesie in the picture. It is winter in July here so he might need another onesie underneath it. He's measuring long atm so I'm worried he won't fit into it length wise. I think I'll just play it by ear, and see what clothes we have closer to the date.
Being team green, would it be a bit crazy or overkill to bring 4 outfits to the hospital? 2 boy and 2 girl outfits, sizes newborn and 0-3? I'm struggling! The hopsital I'm delivering at offers professional newborn photos, which I plan on buying at least a few photos since we're not hiring a photographer to take newborn pics. So far I really like this greenish outfit if we end up being team pink
I hadn't really thought about take home outfits because we're planning on having him already at home. BUT this thread totally made me think of an outfit for taking a few pictures in when he's a few days old. I think we'll go with this combo.
When we found out this baby is a girl, DS and DD picked out a going home outfit for her. Both DS and DD were born in winter, so I am excited about all the cute summer clothes!
@juliagulia38 I am excited about having a summer baby as well! My last was born in the fall, so she was pretty bundled from the time she was born in Oct, until almost mid-June. I can't wait to see little skinny chicken legs poking out of the outfits this summer, and not having to worry about so many layers!
@elenabrent I was just complaining about how the only organic retail baby clothes are SO boring and I had a hard time even finding that watercolor bee! LOVE this shop! Ugh going to go crazy!
@elenabrent I totally forgot about spoon flower! I was having a hard time finding sheets that I liked, and my mom (who is good at sewing), is trying to think of something to get baby (but we are pretty set for the most part at this point beside some of the boring stuff). I am thinking I will have to order some fabric and see if she can make some sheets for the baby's crib for me!
@PhoebeJune1984 I thought I was done making baby blankets but then I've spent the past hour putting 8x8" squares of whale & underwater fabrics in my cart. So I think I'm making another quilt.
I haven't decided what I'm going to bring our baby home in, but for those FTMs - just thought I'd mention that with my first, we used the clothes and blankets the hospital provided while we were there and my daughters skin broke out in a crazy rash. She has sensitive skin and the harsh detergent they used at the hospital caused the rash. When we got home and put her in our own clothes, the rash cleared right up! With my 2nd, I brought all my own baby clothes and blankets and had no issues with rashes. Just a thought for those mamas with sensitive skin that might be passing it on! Both of my kiddos wore newborn size until they were 6 weeks old and 10+lbs (in case that helps any first timers!)

HAHA! I cannot believe I even forgot about that website. Last year, I "hacked" two of those Ikea Latt children's table and chair sets, and ordered fabric and foam (to cushion) the seats. I ended up ordering them in a thicker linen-cotton canvas, so they would be more durable and easier to clean. One of them (for our house), I painted all white and used this fabric: The other one (that went to my parents beach house), I painted navy blue and added this fabric:
@carolynpetite Last time I only brought a "going home outfit" so DD was in the hospital kimono shirt & blanket while we were there. She had really splotchy skin in the hospital, too! I'm bringing clothes/blankets from home for #2 to wear this time. Hopefully that will alleviate the problem!
Other moms have convinced me to delay baby's first bath this go around, too. DD #1 got a Johnson & Johnson bath in the hospital, we continued using that bath wash at home and didn't have any issues at home. That's why I think it was the clothes/detergent used at the hospital.
