Back pain on the left side, nosebleeds, and waking up twice to three times a night to go to the bathroom. At least no more morning sickness (as of now). Yay second trimester!
I have absolutely horrible congestion. I had it through most of my pregnancy with DS and now I have it again this time. It negatively impacts my sleep, so I am always tired. I had a headache for most of the weekend because of the pressure. I finally caved and took a Sudafed - it's the only thing that provides relief and my doc said that it is ok to take every now and then. Thank goodness I don't have a bloody nose like some of you!
Add me to the boat of being extra sweaty/smelly that sometimes I consider reapplying deodorant before I even leave the house in the morning. I've had a few aches/headaches but asides from that very smooth sailing, so I can't complain too much (but I feel bad for my coworkers if I get any stinkier)
Oh wait - I'm also gaining weight in spurts like I did last pregnancy. I go all week and say "alright! I'm doing so well and I've barely gained any weight this week" then I step on the scale and I'm up 3 or 4 pounds.. and those pounds don't fall off like normal water weight.. they hang around for a couple weeks until the next spurt.
I'm pretty easy going about pregnancy weight, it's just annoying. These spurts also love to line up with OB appointments, though my OB is awesome this time around and told me early on "I'm not at all worried about what your weight is, you've got this under control" Woop woop! Although some morning (all mornings?) on the scale I feel pretty out of control
@AnnaS930 I'm with you on the weight spurts! Between my 12 and 16 week appointments I gained 0 lbs. Yay! But then by the end of week 16, I was up FIVE! (I had indulged a bit after being "really good" during the week leading up to my appointment and I felt so guilty!) I thought at this rate, I'll be a blimp by September. But, luckily, those five pounds have just hung out (neither gaining more or losing any) for the past three weeks so I'm thinking Wed (my next appointment) I'll be up five pounds in four weeks. Not bad. But that first five in a week was a scare!
The heartburn is incredible! Also, the whole sleeping on my side thing is taking some getting used to- my poor hips and shoulders... On a positive note, my little man has been kicking up a storm this past week! My husband was actually able to feel the baby kick for the first time yesterday! Very cool experience!!!
I second the weight spurts. After gaining no weight the entire pregnancy, I put on 6 pounds between week 14 and mid 15
I third the weight spurt. I had gained about 3 lbs up until Friday then was up 4 lbs more when I weighed yesterday. I had no bump last weekend and definitely have one now - it's like it came out of nowhere!!
I'm still battling morning sickness. My OB has me on 2 different meds. At almost 19 weeks I really thought this would be over. anyone else still vomiting everyday?
I feel like a hungry hungry hippo! Eating EVERYTHING. And the headaches are back- super fun. Plus, this little stinker is so active, it's nuts! I feel it at the same times every day and night. Last night, I swear, I was laying down and it felt like it was doing full on flips in my stomach- it felt so strange!
marajay6 I have tons of congestion too. I toss and turn at night because I can't breathe on the side I am sleeping on. I may check out the breathe right strips.
I have congestion as well, then when I blow my nose their is blood in my snot. I have HUNGRY days where I want to eat everything, then days where I'm not that hungry. I've been a restless sleeper, which is not me at all. I typically sleep like a rock, so lucky my husband has "mom" ears. Nothing too bad, I really can't complain.
For those of you still experiencing morning sickness, I'm sorry. That sucks. Hopefully it goes away soon.
I still vomit once or twice a week. It's horrible I thought I would be lucky enough to get rid of it in the second trimester I often get headaches. Does anyone else have headaches? I'm worried because I wasn't used to get headaches often before pregnancy. Now I don't know if it is because my blood sugar level is low or just pressure... On the bright side my appetite is improving and feel like I can move around a bit more.
I've gone back to not wanting to eat anything despite feeling like I'm starving. I think it's stress related but not much I can do for stress at the moment. And then I also feel guilty for not eating and that makes me feel worse so I don't want to eat even more. Ugh.
My crotch feels like its falling out of my body! Is this rlp? I dont remember it feeling like this last time around. Or maybe I pushed that memory aside bc this hurts
I had my health assessment for my work and they check BP, cholesterol, and glucose. Everything was good but my triglycerides were 360!! I haven't ever had anywhere near that number. I called my ob office and was freaking out. They told me that was normal for it to be high during pregnancy. Anyone heard of that?
@apowers80 I can't speak to the triglycerides specifically, but my health plan won't even do the annual bloodwork they normally require if you are pregnant. They mark you exempt that year because all your numbers are likely to be way off from "normal". If your OB isn't worried, I wouldn't be either!
My poor tailbone.. I am beside myself because I don't know what to do and it hurts so bad. I tried sitting on a pillow, stretching, changing chairs.. If i let it hurt too long without getting up, my foot starts to go numb. I work in an office where you sit, all day, and the more I get up and walk about the more trouble i'll find myself in.
@rissarox7 Any chance you could request a standing desk? That way, you can be productive all day, but not be putting as much direct pressure on the tailbone. You could also try sitting on an exercise ball. More flexibility in position, plus bonus core strengthening!
ETA: Hmm...just realized you might mean "more trouble" as in it hurts worse, not that your boss is getting on you for being away from the desk. If that's the case, try some Tylenol and check with your OB!
I'm on the still having morning sickness train. I'm not vomiting, but just having nausea, aversions, and lack of appetite. I never had this with my first pregnancy so I'm not sure how long it's going to last. I still have to take zofran 2-3 times a week which bums me out. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one though.
-Numb feet and hands when not active -Lightning crotch -Blood in nose. Every time I blow there it is. -Restlessness at night. Might be time for a snoogle. -Knee pain. I'm assuming from starting to carry more weight -Carpal tunnel in both hands. Sleeping with braces for about a month now. It helps! -Fatigue. Not as tired as first trimester but still sleepy much of time.
I was very underweight when I got pregnant so the first trimester I gained ALOT - like 30 lbs alot. Thank God my weight gain has leveled off. Ive felt great up til now but my feet are really starting to ache when Im on them for a while. I'm guessing its the weight gain. I still have so long to go and Im nervous how Im going to continue working through my third trimester if Im already this uncomfortable now
Ahhh my back. I walked a ton on Sunday and Monday, like 8 miles each day. By the end of the day yesterday my sciatic nerve/SI joints were on fire. Today has not been much better, and of course I decided to lift this morning anyway. it's caused me to waddle around like an old lady and I'm definitely not pregnant enough to be waddling just yet!
I swear this kid is almost full-grown. It feels like I'm carrying a small bowling ball in my lower tummy. Every step is uncomfortable.
@SLou24 sorry about your back. Congratulations on the 16 miles though...that's a lot of steps! My back has been bugging me too at night. I've got so many pillows surrounding me in the bed that poor DH had to sleep in the guest room.
These migraines. Oh man these migraines. I've had them every day since I was 10 weeks. Brought it up multiple times, brushed off with the answer of "sometimes they get worse" and to continue what I'm doing (tylenol and magnesium) and a referral to neurology. Finally called to make neurology appointment: turns out the obgyn referred me to an ophthalmologist. Not who I needed to see.
Oh and the appointment isn't until July 20th, so that helps me a whole lot. Sigh.
I bought an at home blood pressure monitor at my mom's insistence because we have a family history of high BP and migraines. Well, my BP isn't high, but it is certainly all over the place. Still normal, though, so I don't know what exactly to do with that information.
@MojieJo Me too. The waddling started early this time. It's usually only after I've been on my feet for a while though. And if I concentrate on it, I can walk normal.
@Leahknits I can, too. It just seems to be the most comfortable mode of walking for me.
At first I thought it was my imagination, but DH confirmed. I'm a penguin unless I consciously correct myself.
I think it was destined to happen to me sooner rather than later since I have congenitally loose ligaments (I have some sort of connective tissue disorder, probably Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, according to my doctor), but I was hoping it would take longer since my hips are usually pretty inflexible due to my also having femoral anteversion (twisted femurs).
Glad to know there are other waddlers too! I definitely have to consciously think about it when I'm walking so I don't revert to a full waddle. I def didn't get to this point this soon with my daughter.
Waddling here too! Mostly due to the terrible hip pain. I'm getting leg cramps when sleeping too. Already using a snoogle so not much I can do to improve my sleep. My hips and lightning crotch are worse at night but hurt all day too.
Super tired. I need 12hrs of sleep or I cannot function. I'll be dozing off or really sleepy during the day otherwise. My lower back hurts after I've been walking for a few minutes. Acne is gross too!
Heartburn is also bad. Even water gives me heartburn and stomach pain. Taking Zantac 150 twice a day now but if I miss a dose, I get to the point of throwing up. Tums helps as the two Zantac are not enough. Ugh!
I've been walking more lately too- 4 miles Monday and 3 miles this morning- and I noticed I'm getting blisters on my feet! WTH!? I have had my sneakers and hiking boots for a while now, and they have never, ever given me blisters!!! My feet hurt much more than they ever used to. It's insane! And my back - ugh! My lower back has never bothered me before and now it's awful! Oh and hungry, like ALL THE TIME.
I think pregnancy has given me rosacea. I've had dry red patches on my cheeks since January. I wrote it off to winter weather buuuuuut it's 80 here now...
