Here. No work today because it's Patriot's Day (heyo Bostonians) and the start of school vacation week, so all my clients are gone. It's already 73° so I'm pretty pumped!
I'm bored at work, but just realized after I started this I need to pack up soon to drive to another office, so actually won't be around to chat much boo.
@smmatt08 I would think whoever is near the front of the elevator? So the ones who got on last? (is this a trick question)?
@JamieK1882 haha not a trick question. I got irrationally irritated this morning in the elevator because I was on first and the women who got on after me got out first and then got in line for coffee in front of me Bitches! It made me think, who SHOULD get off first?
At work, nervous about my NT scan tomorrow. Blood work came back great but after having a miscarriage in December it is hard to keep thinking everything will be fine with this one. Can't wait to see the baby moving around then going to finally announce to FB.
I forgot to pack my lunch today, so I'm pondering the seemingly endless possibilities of what to stuff my face with today.
Also, I'm periodically staring at my phone, silently compelling it to tell me the sex of my baby. I had my Panorama done on Wednesday the 6th and I still haven't gotten the results back. Ugh!!!!
Also squared, DH, who never comments on what I wear, told me this morning that what I had on didn't match. So what do you guys think: gray and khaki- does it work together or no?
Also cubed, this hottie made me miss Man Crush Monday from TTGP. Has that ever been a thing on this board?
Random, my friend bought us tickets to see Beyonce on 5/12, and while I should be excited... I'm not really THAT excited. I won't know any of her new songs. Also, Ovia sent me an email with articles for my week this week (15) and one of the articles mentioned avoiding concerts as they have research saying it may mess with baby's hearing. They specifically said "rock concerts", so now I'm wondering (because I'm paranoid) whether to go to Beyonce or not.
There isn't a Monday BF thread so I'm throwing my whining here... I haven't wanted sex for months. Basically, since the night we conceived. We've had a few quickies here and there the past few weeks but it's been like 10 days and I woke up this morning ready to go. H wanted to go to the gym and said we could do it when he got back before he went to work but he took his sweet ass time and had to come home and rush to get ready and out the door. I ended up taking care of things myself after he left and then he texts and says we can do it when he gets home tonight at 9. Sorry boo, too late. Just sucks because I'm really missing that connection with him but I can guarantee I'm not gonna be in the mood again tonight.

Bored at work as well. I'm kind of dreading these next few weeks at work because I'm working over tonight, tomorrow night, Friday night, and Saturday morning, and next Friday night and Saturday morning also.
Random, my friend bought us tickets to see Beyonce on 5/12, and while I should be excited... I'm not really THAT excited. I won't know any of her new songs. What did it say, specifically? I've never heard anything like that and I'm curious. I went to several concerts when I was pregnant with DS. Two of them were Paul McCartney shows from the third row. My son can hear just fine. And, bonus, I had a great time.
My random: Getting so frustrated with my son's day care. They provide a monthly menu, but it's NEVER accurate. He's severely lactose intolerant and can't eat cheese. Today was supposed to be spaghetti, but they couldn't confirm this morning if that was being served. So, they said they'd call me. No call, of course, so I called them. They didn't get their shipment of meat in time, so today it's cheesy rice with broccoli and chicken. Helpful. Luckily, I packed an extra lunch.
But, this has happened the last two weeks. Last week was supposed to be something dairy-free, and ended up being quesadillas. What's the point of providing a menu if it is never accurate? (this is really more of a Bitchfest post, I suppose. lol).
There's like a full minute in Blondie's "Call Me" song of just background music and the sound of phone buttons being pushed and a ring tone. It comes on my 80s Spotify playlist, and I'll listen to the song until that point and then change it, because that's just annoying to me.
MIL can't come visit us (pretty much ever) so DH offered to take our son to see her this weekend and let me stay home. A free pass to be alone for 6 hours? I won't know what to do with myself.

Good luck tomorrow! We got pregnant with our son a month after our miscarriage and it was a hard pregnancy for me mentally even though everything was textbook fine. This time it's still on my mind but less (or I'm too busy to remember I'm pregnant half the time).

I'm in awe of how quiet the board has been. I know weekends are generally slow but even today! I've been thinking about making a thread where I talk to myself... haha. The whole timezone thing is interesting for me as well since it's mid day for (most) of you and it's 7pm here.
@F47, trying to find the email from Ovia, but can't. Basically that rock concerts are bad. Lol. Something like that. But here's an article from whattoexpect.com : https://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/ask-heidi/lloud-noises.aspx I think I'm fine going to Beyonce, since we don't even have amazing tickets up front.
@bamacoop, I used to say that if I were a stripper, that would be my song, Blondie's "Call Me"
I have a super hectic week at work this week and just need to power through it. Next week I am going to Orlando for a work conference. I'm speaking there Mon, Tues and Wed (a TON of presentations--that I'm not ready for ah!), but THEN DH and DD are flying down and we're doing to Disney a day and Sea World a day. (I know, I know...Sea World...). I'm so excited though. It's getting me through this week. It's also just hard that it FINALLY warmed up here and is a beautiful 80 degrees and I'm stuck inside all flippin' week with work.
@annabenanna First of all, pretty jelly of your Beyoncé tickets. Although as I get older, I'm not very fond of crowded and loud places so I haven't been to a concert in ages. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be a crotchety old woman. Secondly, the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago is amazing! We took DD there about a month ago and she just went wild. We're very lucky to have some awesome museums here!
my random: yes the board is pretty quiet--I'm guilty of lurking the boards without adding much. Some days I feel so crummy that I am literally too lazy to type...
@rozANDbenSINCE2001 , girl, I know what you mean about getting older and wanting to avoid crowded places. Last Saturday was my best friend's birthday, and we went wine tasting and had lunch at the vineyard. I had ZERO patience for the lunch part. 15 people in a table, service was awful and food was even worse (and overpriced). Then you know what happens when 15 people split the bill right? It takes like 20 minutes for everyone to figure out their share, and someone ends up overpaying and underpaying. I was SO over it (so glad I brought cash, but still didn't lessen the amount of time wasted). After 2 hours of awful food, and awful service I was so ready to leave! Only, I was stuck riding with a friend since I didn't want to drive out to the boonies all by myself. Also, the saying goodbye part took like 30 minutes. As a result, I was gone from 10am - 4pm and that night I threw up from exhaustion and sun exposure. Never again. But this made me think I'm gonna be a crotchety old woman. lol.
Jealous you have the museum so closeby! We don't have any really good museums here in SD.... but we do have the zoo. I guess that's good enough.
@CopperBoom86 Grey goes with EVERYTHING, I say. It is a staple in my wardrobe. And I don't think we've ever done an MCM on here.
@annabenanna I went to concerts (and guilty of them all being rock concerts) while pregnant and my children hear perfectly. But, I also stay towards the back, it's more quiet, and I don't have to worry about fools bumping into me and what not.
Oh, I am already crotchety in overly crowded public places. We have a lot of great festivals in our city and I always enjoy them, but I swear the only reason I am able to tolerate the crowds is because I generally have a beer or two which helps me mellow out. Might be rough this year.
It looks like I have a fairly laid back work week ahead (and today has been nice so far) which means I get some extra hang out time with DD. I work from home and if things are slow, I keep her with me as much as possible. I'm really lucky that I have so much flexibility and MIL watches her when I can't. Howeverrr, I have training out of town all of next week and I am dreading being away for that long, so much so that I'm not enjoying this week and the time that I have as much as I should. I travel for work frequently but never for more than one night, and even that is rough for me. I'm so anxious and sad about being gone for four nights. DH is great and will handle everything just fine, but I still find it painful to be away from them. Any tips from ladies who have unwillingly spent time away from home/baby? Wah.
@agogo1 I have had to spend nights away from DD due to work travel (the most I believe was 4 nights/5 days). No advice, just hugs. It really stinks. DH makes sure to facetime with me while DD is eating dinner, so I'll sit and talk with her while she eats. I hope your time away goes fast!
@AllyTheKid , we should do an MCM! I love our weekly threads, but also feel like a lot of the threads are dedicated to complaining (bitchfest, twatwaffle, wtf)... I love that I have an outlet to vent... but may be nice to change things up and have a fun thread (like MCM!)
Just had three mozzarella sticks, a big bowl of fruit salad and a handful of gummy bears for lunch and it was the best. The best! It's been so long since fruit has been appealing! I'm back, baby! #CostanzaVoice
(Also yes I just hashtagged a comment. Why? Because the gif/image I wanted was too huge to post. So you're welcome.)
@annabenanna I'm kind of indifferent on the MCM, but I am open to ANYTHING that might add some spice to the board! Plus, FI is sexy and my sons are adorable so I will use any excuse to be "that girl" and share some pictures of them
@rebeccuh So weird - I literally just did the whole Costanza-voiced "I'm back, baby!" to DH yesterday because I can finally eat like a normal person again! I would do anything for that lunch right now btw.
Not sure where to put this question, so into the randoms post it goes. Our son will be 2.5 when the second is born. He currently sleeps in a crib and has shown no signs of trying to climb out. I originally thought we'd get him a bed with rails and switch him to that before the second is born, but after talking to some friends, it seems like it might be better to just buy a second crib for new baby and leave oldest in his crib as long as possible, then use the conversion kit to turn it into a toddler bed when he starts climbing out. Does anyone with two kids have a preference?

@ignoscemihi - I don't have firsthand experience yet, but your plan sounds spot on. My son is only 13 months now (20 months when baby arrives) and you better believe he'll be in a crib until the last possible second! I think using the conversion kit when the time comes is exactly what we'll do as well.

@annabenanna Ugh, that sounds miserable! Plus, you are totally right about check-splitting with a large group. DH and I despise that...we can keep track of what we've ordered, certainly you can too? And if it's a group of close friends, can't we just be civil and divide it pretty evenly? Eventually it will all even out, right? My favorite are the people who balk at a two or three dollar discrepancy or who want to undertip. Unless our server was an a-hole, we tip 20% since we're in the biz, too, and believe in karma
I LOVE the San Diego Zoo! My best friend from high school lives in PB and my cousin loves just a few miles from there, so we've been taking annual trips to visit. Last year, we were there for the Fourth but apparently June Gloom didn't get the memo and it was horribly cloudy and kinda chilly while we were there The Fourth of July is amazing in SD, though. I love that all the bays coordinate the fireworks--so beautiful!
@agogo1 Yes! I'm so crotchety now. We went to an outdoor mall yesterday because it was 80 in April and that never happens in Chicago. Everyone and their mom had the same idea. I was pretty unpleasant, but that's because everyone is rude. Lots of body bumping and cutting off the path of our stroller. And I'm sorry to hear about your long work trip. I don't have any advice, but I understand your anxiety. I'm the same way with my DD and that would be so very hard for me as well. I hope FaceTime/Skype helps you make it through your days quickly!!
Today is the first day I am "sportin' the bump" at work - wore my first form fitting shirt in several weeks and was feeling kind of confident. And then...my co-worker said, "Just wait, you're going to lose your waist any day now, so just get ready. And it probably won't come back." Really?!
I actually looked at a calendar and counted and determined that in the next week or so, the January board could be coming to life. It makes me feel further along, like I'm a seasoned pregnant lady and not a newb. Lol
