Wait wait WAIT...since when did a one week overdue baby equal the size of a FIFTEEN pound turkey?!? (See babysizer ticker for reference...). No way can I push anything 15 pounds out of my lady bits...

My doctor called in sick, and her scheduled day off is tomorrow, so my induction is off until at least Friday. The weird thing is that I don't even care. I'm so happy to be done with work at this point that I feel like I got an unplanned mini-vacation. I think DH is more bothered by the delay than I am.

That's ridiculous, especially considering they lose weight in the first week. Get yourself together, Bump.
Also, they leave tomorrow. I'm going to lounge around topless all day to celebrate, then probably make something good for dinner because M will be missing his mom.
@NOLA520 - Just realized that the Stanley Cup playoffs start tonight, and unless I'm very much mistaken, your boys are still in it. Have you and your husband had the all-important discussion about how you'll handle things if you go into labor during an important game?
@NOLA520 I'm alive! I've just been avoiding TB because of all of my health issues, major depression issues, being stuck in labor limbo for almost 3 weeks, and overdoing things like I always seem to do.

I decided to put off pumping until my milk comes in, which is soooooo nice... I don't miss pumping. At all. My nipples, on the other hand, are hating me for exclusively BFing over EPing.
im still in the hospital with my baby under observation :-) she is doing really well. I'm with her now. It's Friday night and I'm staying here till her next feed/change of nappy. I'm so in love! the last 2 feeds were a bit rough for her and she cried a lot. I'm staying this time (the station here is a bit understaffed tonight). as wonderful as the nurses are, I really do not like other people telling me when and how to touch my baby. there's still a lot to learn from them but some are just too aggressive or impersonal to read her like I do. (don't blame them just sayin )
I feel a breakdown coming and sorry for my rant. Like all of you ladies, I'm feeling like crap with everything hurting like no other. I can't sit, lay, stand, walk, or anything for too long. I'm happy our c section is on Monday but I'm also freaking out! If labor spontaneously happened I think I would be less stressed/nervous but being scheduled allows too much time to think. Now DH pulled his back and I want to just flat out and tell him to suck it up cause so does mine and many other parts. But I just stay quiet and rub it and bring him stuff. My mom is being a brat. She went from calling everyday (which I hated) to not calling at all just because I asked her to support my decisions rather than giving me guilt trips and forcing herself into our plans. I just want to cry at the smallest stuff and I know I'll start crying the min I check into the hospital. I know everything will be ok and this is normal. Stupid hormones! Ok I'm done.
I figured after 9 months of a generic profile picture, I would add a cute pic to my bump profile haha - that little yawning babe is ME (my baby is still cooking). Can't wait to see if baby looks more like me or my husband. Getting closer!
Stupid Bump app fails every single time I try to open the Birth Announcements thread; I can only view it on an actual computer. Consequently, no one is allowed to have any babies while I'm in the hospital, because I'll be mobile only. Kthx.
@AGK2015 Have you tried opening the thread just through your phone's browser? My app often crashes when I open a photo heavy thread, but I don't have any problems if I open it on Chrome just as a webpage.

I may lurk more than I post, but the past nine months I've spent more time on this board than anything else. Now when I get on, there's nothing happening. It makes me sad, too.
Lindy (3) was helping DH with a diaper change yesterday when a streak of projectile poop flew across the changing table and splattered her hands and one of her toys (among other things). I wiped her down and drew a bath for her and she just kept saying "That was terrible, that was so terrible." The whole thing was pretty dang funny, but now she's a bit gunshy and afraid to be a helper.
So much for not announcing my scheduled c section. We only told our parents and siblings. Now I come to find that my mom told one of my aunts who has surely told everyone else. This is not her news to share!!! This whole pregnancy has been a constant battle with her on many things. She had her kids why can't she let me have my glory with my own! Not to mention the tension building up with DH. Ugh!

This is not her news to share!!! This whole pregnancy has been a constant battle with her on many things. She had her kids why can't she let me have my glory with my own! Not to mention the tension building up with DH. Ugh!
Some people don't understand appropriate boundaries. That said, is it really that big of a deal if people know when your C/S is? Ignore your phone and give them the middle finger until you are ready for visitors. People might be impatient, but be selfish, who cares? This is the birth of your child, they can wait a couple of days for baby stats, and if they complain, they're the dicks who are expecting you to take time away from bonding with your new baby to cater to their desires.
Since I don't want to wait for a complaint thread, I'm gonna take a sec to throw DH under the bus. Per our original birth plan, it was going to be just me, him, and our doula at the hospital until after baby was here. Since I was induced and we knew it would be a while, my parents also stopped by on and off (which they cleared with me, and they made themselves useful or left when they clearly were not; they also both have medical backgrounds as a surgeon and nicu nurse).
DH apparently also invited his granny without telling me. She showed up Saturday afternoon right as my contractions were horrifically painful, just minutes before I got my epidural. Thankfully only DH was allowed to stay in the room for that. I turned to him with what I'm sure we're devil eyes and asked wtf she was doing there. She stayed maybe 15 minutes after they all were allowed to come back in. And she didn't come back to the hospital today to see the actual baby...so odd! (I do like his granny, but not so much that I want her to see me in active, painful labor!)

My mom did this to us. I was emergency induced (which later turned into a C) and gave her notice ONLY bc she lives in Cali and I'm in Florida... So she needed time to get a ticket and get here anyway. I figured that would be at least a full day. Well she flew into high alert mode and told my ENTIRE Miami family, so within minutes of telling her "mom they are admitting me, induction is a long process but I think you need to look for a flight..." my phone and my husband's phone were going insane with family members we had not spoken to for years. It was a clusterfuck.
It's hard to look at your phone and ignore everybody too, knowing that your news was stolen from you and now each text you don't answer makes people assume the worst during an era when people live with their technology inches from their fingers 24/7.
I scolded her but it flew right through her ears with the coming of her grandchild, and the stress/damage had been done. Sometimes we just have to appease ourselves with thoughts of beating our families with frying pans...
Omg you guys. I'm waiting at the doctor's office and apparently the walls are super thin here because I can hear EVERYTHING going on in the next exam room. Anyway this elderly, super southern lady is getting her lady bits checked out. The male doctor starts the exam and is like
"Um has anyone ever told you your bladder is falling out?" Lady: no.... Dr: you can't feel that bulge? It's literally falling out of your vagina... Lady: Oh myyyyy
like how do you not feel something falling out of your cooch?!? I knew about bladder prolapse but I didn't Realize it could like actually COME OUT of your vajayjay.
